Susan asks…
Could I have twins?
I am a fraternal (non identical) twin /triplet. i.e. I have a twin sister but our triplet brother died a few days old. My mum had fertility treatment to have us, but my grandmother (her mother) was a twin and also my great grandmother on that side was a twin. My Grandmother’s twin never had any children and my Mum was an only child, so we don’t know what the chances were of other twins in that generation of the family. My mum had already had a natural first pregnancy with my older brother – not twins.
I am trying to work out if my Mum would have had twins even if she hadn’t had fertility treatment, and does that make me or my twin likely to have them? Is it more likely as a second pregnancy?
Michelle answers:
You are more likely to have twins if it runs in your family but sometimes it skips a generation so does not always mean you will
if your mum had fertility treatment and had twins that’s different because she did not conceive naturally
Daniel asks…
Will they ever go away?!?
My daughter is almost 9 months old. During pregnancy, I developed hemorrhoids. Nearly nine months after my c-section (I didn’t even have a natural delivery!), I am STILL having flare-ups. I am not sure, but I think they may be coinciding with the onset of my period. Will this ever end? Usually they are not that bothersome, but this month they really hurt. Is this something that, once you have it, it never goes away? If they continue to hang around, will surgical removal be necessary? I know all the stuff to do to alleviate the discomfort, I’m just wondering what others’ experiences were. Thanks for bearing through this definitely-too-much-information question.
Well, constipation certainly isn’t causing them…that hasn’t been an issue since I had my gallbladder removed six weeks after my daughter was born.
Michelle answers:
Mine went away after a few months. Use witch hazel and
tucks pads, sitz bath will help also. I know it can be a pain in the buttl
Paul asks…
What does it make you successful make you pregnancy?
With my first son (who is one year old now) I was already pregnancy with him by the first time TTC with my husband.
Now we are TTC # 2 since 3 months. I don’t know why it’s keep me wait so long be pregnancy again. Anyway how do I successful be pregnancy again? because I want to have another one so bad and want my son can have sisters/brothers. Is there any ovulation calendar online that do make you successful pregnancy?
I never had been on birth control or any other stuff nothing but natural. What does it make you successful make you pregnancy?
Michelle answers:
You got lucky the first time. It can take up to and beyond a year for a normal, healthy couple to conceive. There is only a 20-25% chance of conception each cycle – and that’s with perfect timing.
You should visit http://www.fertilityfriend.com and sign up for their free online charting course. It will teach you how to pinpoint your most fertile time of the month. The online calculators aren’t so accurate. I steer WAY clear of those.
Nancy asks…
Is it child abuse to let young teen girl keep a pregnancy?
Below is a rant from a woman who criticizes the mother of a girl who appeared the Maury Show and got pregnant at the age of 12. she said letting her give birth is child abuse because carrying the baby at such a young age is a huge strain on a girl’s body.

7. Fourteen year old Rebekah, her disgusting enabling mother, six month old mistake Emalee (gag), and her older ex Chad. She and Chad were in a secret relationship, and Rebekah went and had sex with him to prove she loved him. Maury claimed that being only twelve years old at the time, she had no idea she could get pregnant. Either she’s a liar or incredibly ignorant. Kindergarteners in this day and age know how you make a baby, even if most of them are blissfully unaware of how you can have sex for pleasure instead of just doing it when you want a baby! “He took advantage of a little girl!” Mom ranted backstage. Fuck you, you hypocritical asshole. It’s child abuse to let a twelve year old have a baby. Think of the gargantuan strain on her still-growing body and how ignorant and ill-informed she already obviously was about her own body. I feel bad for both Rebekah and Emalee. I can only imagine how scary labour must feel for a thirteen year old, how terrifying it must be to get pregnant at twelve, how most girls who get pregnant that young have to have C-sections because their bodies aren’t developed enough yet for natural delivery. Did she even know where the baby would come out of or how big the average newborn is? I would have been bitchslapping the alleged father in addition to throwing a chastity belt onto Rebekah after immediately putting up the money for her abortion, even taking her to the nearest place offering RU-487 if need be, for a less invasive and scary abortion procedure. What Rebekah’s mother did was absolute child abuse, letting a twelve and thirteen year old little girl keep a pregnancy and destroy her youth. She actually had the audacity to declare that Emalee was a miracle and gift from God, and that “That baby’s awesome!” Only like 15 or 20 years ago no respectable woman would have openly publicly declared a baby born out of wedlock to a 13 year old little girl was some kind of miracle and gift from God!
I think it would be wrong not to allow her to keep the pregnancy unless is was for her health and she was unable to make such a decision.
Michelle answers:
No of course it’s not child abuse, the 12 year old was dumb enough to get herself pregnant and she’s not been forced to keep the child.
