Your Questions About The Oldest Natural Pregnancy

Chris asks…

pregnancy after birth?

Hi, i gave birth on the 28th feb 2010, it was always planned that we want our children close together, i had a pretty easy pregnancy with no complications an easy labor and delievery all natural no pain relief, no stiches ect, and had a healthy little boy who weighed 5lb 12oz he is now 8 weeks old and weighs 11lb 2oz. We want to now try again as i have been told everything has gone back to where it should be and my periods have returned, my question is how easy is it to fall pregnant after birth, it took us four years to concieve our first baby due to me comming off depo injection and i was diagnosed with pcos in 2006, is there any advise anyone could give me? Thanks for help in advance xx

Michelle answers:

It’s very easy! You’re at your most fertile now. I’ve got just 11-months between my children – totally planned it that way and wouldn’t change a thing.

Hope you’re as fortunate as I was x

Does anyone know about using natural progesterone cream in dogs to prevent cancer?

I know natural progesterone cream is beneficial to opposing estrogen in mammals during pregnancy. I also know it’s good in preventing all kinds of cancer. If my dog had a couple heats before being fixed, would it be helpful to try supplementing with some natural progesterone for a couple months, to counter act the estrogen she was exposed to? I thought we were going to breed her and I’d never owned a dog before. I feel bad that her risks for cancer is now increased. The vet told me this today, and the dog was spayed two years ago (she’s now 3.5 years old).

Michelle answers:

I’d not mess with stuff like that. You may cause trouble where there is none. Just let your dog be and get her checkups every 6-12 months. Check her every few weeks for lumps, feed her high quality food (not from grocery store or walmart) and make sure she gets regular exercise and stays a good weight. Enjoy her and don’t put stuff on her that may start something else. Good luck.

Premature Babies/Teen Pregnancy? Help!?

Ok. So I’m Alyssa. I got pregnant at the age of 17 and married by 18 to my wonderful best friend and now hubby, Danny. He is 19.
So I am an expectant mother to Sophie Destiny Britten sometime in September or August. I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant with a girl of course.

I go to do an ultrasound every week because my doctor is worried that I could birth my baby girl way to soon and have her ending up with development issues and birth defects.

My doctor says that there is a big possibility the baby will be birthed about 35 – 37 weeks. And I’m very scared because I heard the best way to birth is Natural. And I very much want to do a Natural Water Birth after seeing an 18 year old do it and in labor for over 24 hours.

Will my baby be ok if she ends up being birthed around 35 – 37 weeks.

-Alyssa

Michelle answers:

Hey, I’m a teen mother of two girls. I’m 18, my oldest is 3 and yougest will be 1 on may 15. I think your baby will be perfectly fine. My oldest was due May 2 and i had her April 11 and shes perfectly fine. They didn’t consider her as premature or anything. Trust me you’ll be fine the doctors estimate the gestation of your pregnancy to be 40 weeks but do the math. It’s nine months of pregnancy and four weeks in every month. So that means you should really be carrying your baby for 36 weeks. Don’t think negative. Infact think positive and every thing will be great. I’ll keep you and your baby in my prayers. Congratulations ANd good luck to you and your hubby

Natural Family Planning?

Does anyone here use NFP to prevent pregnancy? I have done some research, but would like to hear from the masses. Does it require a lot of effort? The information I have found says that used correctly, it is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. Has anyone used it correctly and still gotten pregnant?

I want to learn it because of my religious convictions, but I really, really, really can’t afford to get pregnant any time soon. I am married, and have a three year old and want to wait until I finish school before having another child. Can someone give me some first hand knowledge?

Michelle answers:

You will probably have to put in the most effort the first two or three months, while you chart your cycle and learn how your mucus and temp will relate to ovulation. There are charts you can keep to let you know when you are ovulating (when to abstain) and when you’re in the clear. Talk to your doctor about it; I’m sure they have some useful info.
