Chris asks…
Christians: Can you answer some questions for me?
I have a number of questions with evidence that contradicts Christian Theology…
Can you please provide me with the theistically based answers for these questions?
(Questions have a ‘??’ before them.)

??Why would Christians still eat Shrimp, Clams, Lobster, Oysters, etc. when it says in the bible that eating anything from the waters without ‘fins and scales’ is an ‘abomination’ on par with gay sex?

The Bible is rather clear that homosexuality is an “abomination,” as stated in Leviticus 18:22, just a few lines below the edict in Leviticus 11:10-12 stating that eating shrimp is an abomination. The crustacean passage is not much of any issue for most people, hence no demonstrators picketing Red Lobster with dire warnings that the April all-you-can-eat shrimp fest may trigger Armageddon.
??If god really wanted us to be “Fruitful and Multiply”, why would god cause approximately ONE THIRD of all pregnancies end in Spontaneous Abortions? (I.E. Miscarriages)
††† Miscarriage
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spontaneous_abortion
Many miscarriages happen very early in the pregnancy, before a woman may know she is pregnant. Prospective studies using very sensitive early pregnancy tests have found that 25% of pregnancies are miscarried by the sixth week LMP (since the woman’s Last Menstrual Period).[29][30] Clinical miscarriages (those occurring after the sixth week LMP) occur in 8% of pregnancies.[30]
The prevalence of miscarriage increases considerably with age of the parents. One study found that pregnancies from men younger than twenty-five years are 40% less likely to end in miscarriage than pregnancies from men 25–29 years. The same study found that pregnancies from men older than forty years are 60% more likely to end in miscarriage than the 25–29-year age group.[33] Another study found that the increased risk of miscarriage in pregnancies from older men is mainly seen in the first trimester.[34] Yet another study found an increased risk in women, by the age of forty-five, on the order of 800% (compared to the 20–24 age group in that study), 75% of pregnancies ended in miscarriage.[35]

And lastly…
?? If god says abortions are bad, why does he give a ritual for when abortions are OK?
“And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.” Numbers 5:27-28 http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Num/Num005.html#27
Comment:
This nonsensical ritual, prescribed by God, to a woman suspected of infidelity, must undergo the drinking of a vile concoction made of bitter water and dust from the floor of a tabernacle. A priest calls a curse upon the woman’s head to insure that if she has acted in adultery the drinking of the liquid will cause her to have a miscarriage. If she comes out clean, then she shall conceive.

Can you shorten all that down a little?

Linda asks…
Did you have an unplanned c-section for your 1st birth? how did it feel emotionally?
I am 4 months pregnant with my 1st and really hoping for a natural vaginal delivery, the c-section does get me a bit nervouse but its not because of that i would not want to have one, i just am very emotional about having the whole giving birth to your child experience, with out pain medication if possible and naturally. I think i would feel like they stole a beautiful experience for me, i worry i might feel so depressed about it that i wouldnt be able to be as good as a mother during those days of getting over the fact i didnt give birth naturally. I would like any tips you have to avoid c-sections & will like to hear your experience if you did have a c-section. I would do it if it was nessesary but i feel alot of times they do a c-section with out truely being needed. I am 4 foot 10 inches really short and skinny i weight 90 pounds pre – pregnancy. My older sister is like me to and delivered naturally but i still get scared they might do a c-section just cause im small or other things.
Michelle answers:
Congratulations! I have had 2 c-sections, both of my children, and never delivered vaginally. Of course I wanted to deliver naturally, but for some reason, both of my children just didn’t want to come out on their own =) I wish that I could have had the experience of delivering, but that just wasn’t in the plan and it was something that you really don’t have much control over in most situations. The c-section itself really is not that bad because you are focused on seeing your baby, sure you are nervous, scared, etc, but the operation itself is over very quickly and then they show you your beautiful baby right away. The only thing I really did not like was that you have to go to recovery after and it took about an hour before I could actually hold each one of my children. (Because of anesthesia) That is the hardest part and I don’t know if that is standard practice in all hospitals or not. I had explicit instructions with my family that no one was allowed to hold my baby before me! The moment you have them in your arms…nothing else matters. It doesn’t matter how you gave birth, the only thing that matters is that beautiful baby that you created is in your arms!
I don’t have any regrets at all because I have two beautiful, perfect, little angels and if I would have decided not to have the c-sections that may not have been the case, it could have ended up with tragic consequences.
Keep in mind, the last thing the doctors want to do is to put the mother through an unnecessary procedure. They do keep the safety and well-being of the mother and child first and foremost at all times. Talk to your ob/gyn about it and see what they are thinking, that is what they are there for and trust me they have heard everything imaginable, so don’t ever be afraid to ask a question no matter how bazaar you might think it is. I am sure they have heard it all!

Michael asks…
Third Pregnancy??
Okay including this time it is my 3rd pregnancy. The first was a miscarriage and the second I have a beautiful 10 month old son. My father is a natural triplit (although one died at birth), and on my husbands side his brother has twins. I am sure there are more somewhere.
During this pregnancy (I am only around 5 weeks) I have felt sick, and tired and my breast are tender. Very early, we are talking about 3 weeks on. Is it possible there are twins in there? I never even felt pregnant with the other two.
Michelle answers:
Fraternal twins run on the maternal side (mother side) this is hyperovulating and is passed from grandmother and/or mother. You have a higher chance of conceiving fraternal twins if your grandmother was a fraternal twin or had fraternal twins, same goes for your mother. Hyperovulating is not passed from your fathers side nor can your significant other’s history of twins cause you to become pregnant with twins as his history wouldnt effect the number of eggs you release. Identical twins are completely spontaneous so any family history will not effect your chances. The only way to know if you are carrying twins is by ultrasound, that is 100%. There are other signs but nothing but an ultrasound is accurate. Some factors can aid in you conceiving fraternal twins and some of those are age (older women have a higher chance of hyperovulating) race (fraternal twins more common among african americans) height and weight (taller and heavier women are more prone to hyperovulating as well.

Helen asks…
cervix is anyones always open?
Is anyone a cervix checker. I recently had a baby she is for months old. Throughout the pregnancy my cervix remainded 1cm dilated on the external os but the internal os ws closed. My cervix measured 4 cm in length which was good. My question is after child birth why does the cervix never fully close up. I have heard of people able to fit a full index finger into their cervix because after childbirth it never fully closes. So i checked mine and i am able to fit a finger through my cervix. I did not have natural childbirht I had a c section but in the past i have had several d and cs. Could this be why my cerix is not completly closed. Does this mean I wil not be able to carry my next child to term because my cervix is not fully closed. Peopl with knowledge and and proffesionals to answer please as i no not want to worry myself over an answer which is incorect. Thank you x
For the forth person who answered my question you are infact wrong. It was my cervix and yes i could insert a finger into it. Whilst I was pregnant I had several examinations and was told this. I know what a cervix feels like.

This is a question for your dr. Looking for the answers on here or anywhere else on the internet may be a bad idea. Really anyone can put anything on the web and believe anything they read. So call your dr. For facts.
