Lizzie asks…
How soon after a miscarriage can you get pregnant?
I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and 2 days last week and I didn’t have to have a D&C, I passed it naturally and the doctor said that everything is fine with me and that I could start trying for another baby soon as long as I am emotionally ready but I was worried about getting pregnant soon after my miscarriage cause I don’t want it to end up in another one but he assures me that as long as I don’t smoke or drink and I take my prenatal vitamins everyday that it should be fine cause I had a natural miscarriage. Has anyone gotten pregnant right after a miscarriage and had a normal healthy pregnancy? This was my first miscarriage, I have a healthy 2 year old boy.
Michelle answers:
I had a miscarriage in June and i was only 4 weeks and the baby passed naturally without any assistant needed but my doctor told me to wait at least 6 weeks before trying again. So we quit trying and I got pregnancy in August almost 6 weeks but more like 5 or so and I am now 25 weeks and have had no problems at all. Sorry about your loss but Good luck in trying again. Sending Baby Dust your way

Thomas asks…
I need help on the decision of VBAC or repeat c-section, please I am so scared and nervous this time around.?
I am 5’0″, I have a two year old that was born in September of 06.. I was delivering him natural and was in labor for 7 hours before the doctors realize hey.. the face is down and not up making it more difficult for my size to deliver vaginally. So we had to go through an Emergency c-section, now almost three years later, I am pregnant with my second, and am having difficulty deciding what to do. I have the choice of a VBAC or planned c-section. My last c-section scared me so bad, I guess the mixture of pain medicines I had when they had to put me to sleep.. and the recovery was hell. Last pregnancy I weighed 82 pounds pre-pregnancy and gained 70 pounds total. This time my pre-pregnancy weight is 130. and I am 5 months and only gained 2 pounds so far.. can anyone please relate and guide me?
Michelle answers:
I had my first by c-section, though it wasn’t an emergency. For me, labor was just not progressing, and after getting to 3 cm, my cervix was beginning to swell shut again!
I tried for VBAC for the next one, but I ended up with another c-section.
I think, if the OB is confident in trying for a VBAC, you could go for it. Recovery really is much faster. If it’s not working out, they can still do the c-section.
Try not to worry – we women do this all the time. 🙂
