normal worries in pregnancy or not?
hi all im 20 yrs old and 22+1wks with my first. i suffer from depression and quite bad anxiety. (i am on meds) prior to this pregnancy i had a m/c the month before. i do really want this baby and to do my best for it, and build a good life. is it normal to be scared incase i dont bond with the baby or that i’ll be a bad mother or i dont love it enough the way a mother should. does it come natural after birth??? i have mentioned to my dr. about my heightened anxiety but they dont seem to take any notice. im extremely close with my mother and she is very supportive and understanding, but i cant help but worry incase im a terrible mother.

I think every woman worries that she wont bond with her baby, or that she will be a bad mom. It’s completely normal and healthy to worry about these things, it means you care and are on your way to being a great mom! š

(Hopefully) not a stupid pregnancy question…please help!?
I’ve only 4 more pills to take out of this months packet (21 day packet) and for the past 3 days I’ve been experiencing a sharp to dull ache in my lower right side and sometimes on my lower left side, often at the same time. It feels like the pain I used to get at ovulation.
I’ve charted my ‘natural cycle’ off the pill and figure if I was ovulating naturally despite being on the pill it would have been early last week or the weekend of the week before.
I stayed with my fiance that weekend and week but we had no condoms so didn’t have sex and only fooled around. The only possibility of me being preggers is the small chance he may have had pre-*** on his fingers when he fingered me (sorry tmi) so I doubt it is that and I take my pill at the same time each day, no missed ones etc.
Also I have had a dull stuffy nose and feeling slight hot on and off but this has been going on for 2 weeks-2 days into my stay with my boyfriend so doubt they can be pregnancy symptoms. 4 days ago I began to get a dull headache and feeling of something sitting in my throat. Just feel generally unwell :(.
Have also taken 2 HPT-both negative just incase- they were first response and I estimate based on my old cycles they would be at days 34 and 35-my cycles were approx 38 days.
Just the pill messing with my hormones or something else?
I have no other preggo symptoms-no nausea or sore boobs!

Michelle answers:
It is very, very UNlikely that you’re pregnant.
In addition to your ovary, the lower right side is where your appendix is.
There is also the possibility you’ve developed an ovarian cyst. Those can be varying degrees of painful, depending on whether they’re growing, shrinking, or rupturing. I can tell you from personal experience that that they can also make you feel “generally unwell” most of the time, at least mine did. But your head-cold symptoms are probably a different and separate issue.
A pelvic exam is the only way to go here. Show the doctor where it hurts, and you’ll find out fairly quickly whether it’s your appendix, a cyst, endometriosis, or what.

Anyone conceived naturally with a sperm count less that 10 million?
My hubby and I have trying to conceive #2 for 18 months now. We have a 2 1/2 year old son and I had a chemical pregnancy when he was one. Both were natural…now its been 18 months and we’ve found out my hubby has a low sperm count (9 million). Has anybody conceived naturally with a number like this? We don’t know whether it was low before or not…just looking for some words of hope…if not naturally, what procedure did you have to have done?
Michelle answers:
My DH had a very low sperm count (100,000) and it has increased with each test. We did a medicated IUI and that day he had about 11 million that made it through the “wash” and my doctor said that was more than enough. I would suggest getting him retested in a few weeks and see if the count goes up or down then you will have a better idea of what you are working with. Abstain from sex 2-3 days before the sample. And with an IUI, you don’t need a huge amount (9 million is good). If his count decreases a lot, I would suggest freezing some samples for future use. Good luck and I hope his numbers come up!
