Lisa asks…
Pregnant so soon after miscarriage?
I had a natural miscarriage 6 weeks ago, after being 9 weeks pregnant. Since i am now two weeks late, I have now done two pregnancy tests and both come up with a faint line. Could this be cause i have HCG levels or could i possible be pregnant again. I can’t see Dr until next Friday so really not sure what to think..
Anyone ever dealt with this before?
Michelle answers:
I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks then caught again 2 weeks later. I had the Dr telling me the positive was probably from the previous pregnancy but I insisted on a scan and a week later he relented when i started bleeding again…lo and behold there was my 5 week baby, heart beat an all. So yes, its very possible youre pregnant again. If youre still unsure ask for your hormone levels to be checked, if theyre rising then you are most definitely pregnant
Fingers crossed for you

TTC, having some pregnancy symptoms. Plz read details?
Husband and I are TTC
I have been on NuvaRing for a little over 1 year (quit bc end of March), have been on other birth controls for 6 years.
Typical period signs are slightly sore breasts, lower back pain.
All the signs of me getting my period this time dont feel the same as usual. Breasts are a lot more sore (same with nipples), back pain right now is on and off and not as strong.
Here is a time line from the day I took out bc.
March 31- took out NuvaRing
April 3-started bc withdrawal period
April 30- started first “natural” period
May 1-current have had sex just about every day
May 14- Ovulation (if my cycle I back to regular) had sex the every day the whole week of O
May 28- Should be starting period, lower back pain, headaches, some nausea, sore breasts and nipples
May 29- No period, lower back pain, headaches stronger, some nausea, sore breasts and nipples
May 30- first sign of blood was very little (hasnt dropped onto pantyliner) light red, next time at bathroom is brown to current…took HPT is BFN, lower back pain, headaches stronger, some nausea, sore breasts and nipples
I know some women experience their period, or what they think is their period around the time they are supposed to start. Take a test and its negative then later find out they are pregnant.
I guess I just wanted to see if what I’m experiencing could be pregnancy related or just my body playing tricks on me.
Michelle answers:
The spotting you had could of been implantation bleeding. It’s only visable when wiping and is brown with some red/pink. When I was pregnant I got the lower back pain and I was also constipated which is very uncommon for me.
Earlier this month I had everything you had, but no sore breasts. I ended up getting my period anyway with 2 negative blood tests and a negative HPT. I seriously thought I was pregnant because of the morning sickness I had. I guess it was all PMS which I never had before. Since my miscarriage in January, I’ve been irregular and I guess PMS is a new thing for me as well.
Good luck!
Linda asks…
i have not had a period for 6 months, and am now pregnant. how do i know how far gone i am?
i came off the pill 8 months ago. i have not had a natural period for over 6 months. i have done a pregnancy test and it was positive (yippy). but how do i know how far gone i am as i don’t know what my ovulation dates were?
Can the Doctor do a test to tell me?
Thanks
Michelle answers:
There is an over the counter test that tells you how far along you are in weeks, I’m not sure it goes up to 6 months though.
Doctor will want to know when your last period was roughly.
Ultrasound scan is the best way to know how far along you are, they measure the baby and look at it’s development.
A trip to the doctor will be needed.

Could I be pregnant ??? ?
I had a natural miscarriage 4 weeks ago. I tested 2 weeks after my miscarriage and it was negative, but it was a dollar tree pregnancy test. Then I tested at 3 weeks with First Response and it was faint positive. I tested again a few days ago and still faint positive.
I just went in for a blood test today and won’t get the results until a few days because I’d have to go back for a follow up. I thought I had a UTI because I was cramping, peeing a lot, and nauseous but I tested negative for UTI.
Could I be pregnant or do you think it’s my left over hormones?
Thanks!
Michelle answers:
It sounds like u could be pregnant, but like u said, it could just be left over hormones. Good luck, I know the wait really sucks!
