Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Michael asks…

A little help, Please! My period is late and a negative on hpt test.?

Ok, I’m gonna try to simplify this as much as possible and give you a timeline.
PERIOD TIMELINE
August 4-delivered baby by c-section
Sept.3 postpartum bleeding stopped.
Sept.5- Postpartum check up, cervix closed, uterus back to prepregnancy size, prescribed nuvaring, filled script, inserted ring
Sept.13- started period, removed ring after period started; lasted 16 days
Oct.11- started period; lasted 5 days
Nov.2-3- I believe I ovulated one of these days, very late in the cycle.
Nov.8- expected period, did not show up, tested that evening (negative)
Nov.9- tryed testing again with first morning urine. (negative)
Nov.10-no signs of period coming

SYMPTOMS
Missed period (in my opinion)
Naseous on and off throughout the day
moody

A little more info… I have not used any birth control after sept. 13. After I had my son in July 2007, my periods returned to normal very quickly. My daughter was conceived 3 months after I had my son (both planned pregnancy) This time we are allowing nature to take its course, if I end up pregnant again quickly it is fine, this will probably be our last. If not, then when we do find ourselves pregnant again it will be an exciting time. We wanted all of our children close in age to encourage a natural bond between them.
So for the questions…

1. Do you think pregnancy is still possible, even with the negative tests?
2. When do you think I should test again if my period doesn’t show up and if I did ovulate on Nov.2-3?

thanx for reading, your answers are appreciated. I’m just a bit of a control freak over things like this. BTW-I’m not stressed out, so stress is not a factor here. Neither is overly strenuous exercise.

Michelle answers:

Sometimes your periods will come in cycles.so you might be starting a knew cycle and will be starting your period at a different time this month.if not test again in a week you might get a positive result

William asks…

slow rising HCG levels with spotting in early pregnancy! Help!?

I am experiencing light bleeding (since last Wednesday) off and on for the last 9 days. It has never been very heavy and no clotting and only slight cramping have been associated with it. Last Thursday I was seen at my docs office and showed an HCG test level of 1766 in the previous test done 12 hours prior it was at 1362. My doc kept trying to tell me that I should be between 7 and 8 weeks pregnant however, due to a drug allergy that I had at the begining of July I was placed on Prednisone in which prolonged my period causing me to bleed from the 3rd to the 18th. I didn’t engage in sexual intercourse until the 22nd of July, the 25th of July, and then again on the 4th of August. I went yesterday to have a vaginal ultra sound done and nothing could be found not even an egg sac. They drew more blood to test the HCG, but were already discussing a natural passage or D&C procedure and told me that the pregnancy had been aborted. This morning I got another call from them stating that my hormone levels were somewhere around 3100 and even though they weren’t doubling as they should they couldn’t say that I had definitely miscarried. So now they are sending me tomorrow to have more blood work drawn and then again on Tuesday. It looks pretty grim at this point and I have all but given up hope. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and then went on to deliver a healthy baby? They also said that there was a possibility that I was not as far along as they had projected. At 4 weeks or so would it still be possible to not see anything in an ultrasound?
thank you so much for your input! My HCG levels were tested last Thursday and again yesterday so in a weeks time they hadn’t even doubled. They went from 1766 to 3100…that doesn’t seem like a great increase, but I am still keeping my fingers crossed that I am so early into this pregnancy that nothing is looking right at this point

Michelle answers:

I had slowly rising HCG levels. They were doubling about every 10 days instead of every 48-72 hours. Everyone kept hinting at me to prepare for a loss. My daughter is now 4 months old, happy and healthy.

I’m not sure about the ultrasound not showing a sac. I know at 5 weeks, there is definitely a visible sac, but I don’t know about at 4 weeks if there is one visible.

Oh and I just realized you said you were spotting. I had light bleeding, which is why we had the blood drawn to test the HCG levels. Everything could still be OK – your period being messed up could have definitely delayed ovulation and you may have ovulated much later than normal and not be as far along as you think.

Charles asks…

i am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant i had a scan last sunday becoz of bleeding and saw my baby !!!?

the pregnancy tests were really dark last week and like i said i saw my baby on the scan and the heartbeat but i just done another pregnancy test and the posotive line is still there but lighter why is this ?? please answer as i really want this baby and am a natural worryer so has this happened to anyone or could it be the brand of tests?? thankyou v much x

Michelle answers:

Quit worrying, its not good for the baby. If you had a sonogram and everything is okay then don’t worry about how light the line was on the pregnancy test. As long as the HCG is detected you are okay

Paul asks…

Cause of Ectopic Pregnancy?

What is the cause of Ectopic Pregnancy does it cause from the male sperm or from the female side or cause by natural

Additional Details
My Wife has become a victim of ectopic pregnancy two time doctor has removed both the tubes second time tube has burst and doctor had to operate in emergency what should i do now i have also tried for test tube baby but could not get the fruitful result

Michelle answers:

I have had two ectopic pregnancies and lost my right tube from the first.

They are often caused from a blockage in the tubes from scarring and slow movement of the fertilized egg. Douching has also been linked to ectopic pregnancy. The man has nothing to do with it.

The scarring can be caused from STDs or vaginal infections that go untreated and also abdominal surgeries. The slow movement of the egg can be caused by abnormal levels of estrogen and progesterone sometimes caused by birth control like the pill or in my case with the first ectopic the depo provera injection. Also more mature women nearing menopause have an imbalance of these hormones.

I have left a couple of links that have great information one on ectopic pregnancy and the other is specifically on douching so scroll down to the 3rd and 2nd section to the last on the page on how safe is douching and effects on pregnancy.

I am so sorry that your wife lost both of her tubes. Having lost one I know I know halfway how she feels. Keep trying IVF. Sometimes it takes a few tries. If it becomes too much, you can always adopt. There are a lot of kids who need parents that will love them.
