Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Maria asks…

How soon can i become pregnant again after a natural miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage 12 days ago and want to be pregnant again asap. It broke my heart, but the only thing helping me stay strong is the thought of becoming pregnant again. When will i ovulate again? I read a miscarriage is like a period to the body, and so that means i’m nearly on day 14 of my cycle, my most fertile time? Any replies will be appreciated.
Also, if i become pregnant, when is the best time for me to test, as i know hcg levels in the body can take a while to return to normal, and that a positive pregnancy test could be from my last miscarriage.

Michelle answers:

You are actually more fertile than normal after a miscarriage so you can get pregnant straight away. My sister in law did and she now has a lovely little boy.

It’s not possible to say for sure when you will ovulate but it’s best if you have lots of sex (every day or every other day) for the next few weeks. You can try testing in a few weeks time, about 4 weeks after the miscarriage. By the the result should be accurate as the HCG levels will have dropped away from your previous pregnancy.

Good luck!

Shes pregnant and just colored her hair a lighter shade can she color it back to her natural color?

My super long time best friend and i got our hair colored this past weekend but today she found out shes pregnant! She’s around 3-5 weeks. We arent sure yet because it was a home pregnancy test. But anyways she doesnt want her hair to look funky so she wants to color her hair back to her normal color that way she doesnt have to keep coloring it throughout the pregnancy. Is it okay if for the last time for the next nine months she colors it?

* She colored it light brown and she has dark dark dark brown hair

Michelle answers:

Doctors are much more lenient about hair coloring during pregnancy than they once were, but it is still recommended to wait until the second trimester (12 weeks and on) to dye hair when the baby is less vulnerable to exposure.

If she does decide to dye, it would be best to see a professional. Salon hair dye is usually vegetable based and contains little or no ammonia (like Aveda). Drug store dye is metallic based and loaded with harsh chemicals. Just be sure to inform the stylist that she is pregnant, so he/she can take extra precautions. If she would rather do it herself, she should avoid getting chemicals on her scalp (wait until new growth/roots are visible) and apply the dye in a well ventilated room.~

Sandy asks…

Is it possible to have double ectopic pregnancy on both fallopian tubes @ once, after previous miscarriages?

Background: 29 yrs, white, married.
In May (i was pregnant, 1st time trying).
In July we found out there was no heart beat & had a D&C.
In Aug (first normal period). I was sick so we decided not to try.
In Sept, I started my period (w/ cramping & pain)
2 days later a walnut sized lump, looking like a brain came out.
It was tested (pregancy tissue), a natural miscarriage.
My blood test said it was not a curent preg.
Which means it was f-twins, ironically we what I wanted all along 🙂

We got the green light to try in early Oct.
So tomorrow would mark my 6 week mark.
Still no period. OBGYN Preg. test on Thursday was negative

Last 1-1/2 weeks I have had very bad constant pain, sharp at times in my ovary area, on both sides (alternating). I have been close to fainting (white spells), & had pain near my armpit (leaving me breathless)
Blood test tomorrow 9:10am
Could this be an ectopical pregnancy on both tubes?
My cousing had similar problems w/ her twins

Michelle answers:

Yes, or it could just be one. Hopefully, everything works out. If you have an ectopic pregnancy, you’re going to need an abortion to save your life and your fertility.

Does a natural father have the Legal right to change a baby’s last name?

Can a proven natural father by dna testing, not on the birth certificate change the childs last name to his legally? he wasn’t around in pregnancy nore delivery now hes fighting for ownership also some advice on what to do would be helpful? i agreed to give him visitation of the child but he is still trying hard to fight for anything! its very annoying

Michelle answers:

If you aren’t married than no. He will need to fight for visitation rights. I am not sure where you live but most courts are in favor of a child staying with their mother. He would have to prove that you are negligent or unfit in order to get full custody. There are many legal resources for a mother at low or no cost but he will have to pay all of his expenses out of pocket. Contact your local job and family services and ask them about legal aid.
