Mandy asks…
What’s the bodys natural way of telling you your pregnant?
Without taking a pregnancy test.
Michelle answers:
A missed period is the big one. Morning sickness and tender breast are also symptoms.

William asks…
Want to know if equate pregnancy tests are accurate?
I have not gotten my period since November 20th. I have tried already 4 equate pregnancy tests (Wal-Mart brand) and they have all came out negative. I am looking into taking a blood test. I have 3 kids and have used ept once for the three pregnancies. My first two pregnancies were natural the last one 2 years ago was a C-section. My period has been crazy. I was regular before my C-section now I had my periods once a month but one day when I wipe myself then the next day nothing then in 2 days again and so on. I am just so frustrated. My cousin tells me all pregnancy tests are the same thing even the ones at the 99¢ stores. My stomach is terribly bloated like if I were pregnant and yesterday and today I got a small light peach color on the paper. My lower back hearts and I am so exsosted. If someone has had the same problem please talk to me. I need a lot of advice………
Thanks
Michelle answers:
All pregnancy tests are NOT the same. They show positive or negative based on the amount of HCG found in your urine. Some tests are more sensative. The dollar store ones are not. This comes from very recent experience. Try an early PG test – like First Response. Or just go to the dr. Like you planned for a blood test. That way if you are NOT PG, they can do further tests/exams to find out what is going on. Good luck!

Sandy asks…
Positive strep b test in pregnancy?
I am in my 38th week of pregnancy and I’ve tested positive for Strep B. I plan to be given antibiotics via an IV during labor, however my mid-wife says I will need a dose every 4 hours. This seems too frequent. Any ideas about what is the average time in between doses? I really don’t mind protecting my unborn baby from disease, but I also would like a more natural birth, less restriction, with the ability to move around. I assume that since I have the option to reject the antibiotic, I would also have the option to decide how often I receive the doses. But I don’t want to come to my midwife with a request unless it’s reasonable. What I am asking is a) what is the average number of hours in between doses, and b) can I ask that I only be given the antibiotic this frequently?
I am looking for personal experiences or medical advice (from nurses, etc), not just opinions.
Michelle answers:
I am a mom who tested positive for strep B with my last pregnancy. I was given a constant drip after my water broke the night before my c-section. They know what they are doing, allow them to do it unless you want your baby to have complications and possibly die.
