Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Prevention

John asks…

Does the stretch mark cream mederma really work?

I just want to know if it works and how well it works. I do not want to know about any other stretch mark cream product and pleasee DO NOT post this:

There are creams out there that can help get rid of your stretch marks, but you need to find the right one.

I found this on the site I put in the source box below:

Things to look for in a stretch mark cream

There are a lot of creams and ointments out there that claim to remove stretch marks. The best way to fight stretch marks is to increase your skins flexibility before your stretch marks start appearing by using a topical cream on the area before the skin starts to show stretch marks. If you already have stretch marks, hope is not lost. There are creams out there that contain ingredients that help heal the skin while minimizing scar tissue.

Some of the key ingredients that you will want to make sure your cream contains are:

Vitamin A Palmitate

Vitamin A is an essential vitamin and is best known for having positive effects on vision. However Vitamin A is just as important to the largest organ; the skin.

Clinical studies have shown vitamin A to have properties that block the absorption of harmful UVA and UVB rays, as well as a stimulating effect on cell regeneration. It has been clinically shown to improve the appearance of striae (stretch marks) and regulate epidermal (skin) cell growth.

Aloe Vera Extract

Aloe vera has been shown in clinical studies to have a positive effect on wound healing and holds anti-inflammatory properties.

As stretch marks start out as microscopic tears in skin layers due to overstretching of the dermis, aloe vera helps heal these small wounds without causing scar tissue to form, effectively preventing the appearance of stretch marks. Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Indians and Chinese to decrease the appearance of scars and to moisturize and heal skin.

This extract from the aloe leaf protects skin from environmental factors and promotes skin regeneration.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Grapefruit seed extract is a natural antibiotic used for many different types of skin ailments. It is a powerful ingredient to aid in the healing of skin damage. Grapefruit seed extract helps to restore damaged collagen and elastin, which strengthens and retextures the skin.

As collagen and elastin are responsible for the skins elasticity, improving and stimulating production of the connective tissue cells will prevent skin from tearing and thus prevent the formation of stretch marks. The condition of the skins connective tissue also dictates how well the skin contracts after pregnancy. So not only does this compound improve the condition of your stretching skin, after the delivery it will also aid in the contraction of your skin to its previous appearance.

DL-Penthenol

DL-Penthenol is the scientific name for pro-vitamin B5. It has healing properties on damaged skin as it works to improve the structure of both the lower and upper skin layers. DL-Panthenol soothes skin while stimulating cell growth and differentiation.

This ingredient aids in the regeneration of the skin, therefore aiding in reducing the appearance of existing stretch marks by replacing the scar tissue with new skin cells. It also acts to prevent stretch marks by promoting collagen and elastin production, which allows your skin to stretch without rupturing and causing stretch marks.

A cream that has shown to be highly effective at preventing stretch marks as well as healing stretch marks that you already have is Stretch Mark Prevention by Revitol.

Whether you are afraid that stretch marks may be in your future of if they are already a part of your life, the Stretch Mark Prevention cream is the product you will want on your side!

Robert asks…

Is it normal to not have coped with my herpes diagnosis after a yr?

I was diagnosed with this disease in september 2008 and found out that my pregnancy triggered my first and only outbreak.

I had twins in May and I feel even worse about it. I’m scared to kiss my babies. I’m scrubbing, disinfecting, sanitizing all day long. Then, having a daughter I feel that I’m not strong enough as a woman because I did not protect myself so how can I teach her?

The only way I could have contracted HSV-2 was through my 14 year old boyfriend when I was 16 or my current Fiance who I have been with for the past three years since I broke up with the 14 yr old. I believe strongly my Fiance is the one who gave it to me but he never had an outbreak until after I had mine. During a fight, he told me that the woman he stepped out of our relationship with didn’t have it so he blamed me for giving it to him.

How could he accuse me when we had been intimate for years and neither of us had an outbreak? Is it still possible that the woman he was with DID give it to him but it is still undetected in her?

If I did GIVE him herpes, wouldn’t SHE have it?

The whole situation is confusing and lets just say not a day goes by that I don’t think about it. I still cry every time I take a shower especially since I am terrified of infecting my babies. I couldn’t even experience a natural delivery because I didn’t want to risk passing this on to my babies.

I hate that I don’t know how in the hell I got this.

Anyone else not coping well or have any advice how to cope?

Anyone have children or any advice on prevention?

How do you regain interest in intimacy? I really hate having sex because of this. I trust my partner NOW but I lack confidence and I’m scared of everything else now STD related.

Help??? Thoughts??

Sorry it’s so long

Michelle answers:

I also have herpes, i have HSV-1 genitally.
I contracted it September 2007 and had a really hard time with it for about a year and a half.
I failed school, stopped goin to work, thought i was disgusting and went into a really bad depression about it.
Like you, I have no idea how i contracted it, which is what bothered me the most.
I do not sleep around and am very careful who i sleep with, but it only takes that 1 person who doesnt know they have it!
You will not automatically give it to your children.
If you have HSV genitally, then kissing your children will not give it to them. Its in your genitals, and that is where it will stay.
Make sure you do not share towels, and if you take baths, dont bathe in the same water as one of ur children and frequently clean the bathtub.
You will cope with it. Ive become more and more okay with it as the days go by, its not a big deal if you think about it, its more of an inconvience than anything, many people (like me) dont have what you have and thats what we all worry about,
My issues right now is finding myself someone to spend the rest of my life with, to have kids with… You have all that, you should just be soooo happy, its hard being single, having herpes, and wanting to date.

You have to realize its not the end of the world, and having your family should make you realize that even more!

This is going to sound really bad… But … As long as your children and you genitals do not come in contact with one another, you have nothing to worry about.
Just remember not to share towels, make sure you wash your hands frequently, everything will be ok.

Good luck with everything, I hope this helped!

Michelle answers:

The problem with HSV2 is the stigma that goes along with it. People think because someone has HSV2 they were irresponsible or slept with a lot of people. Anyone who has sex is at risk of getting Herpes. Herpes is so common now it is not even tested during the normal STD screening. It has to be specifically requested. One out of three people now has Herpes so you are not alone.

In your situation it is hard to say who gave it to you. The fact that your partner did not have an outbreak until after you had one could imply you had it first but it may also mean your fiance had it with no symptoms and passed it on to you. Once you got it, you had an outbreak right away and then he came into contact with your outbreak and then he got it. However you got it is neither here nor there. You are a new mother and should be thinking about your babies and getting married. Plenty of couples have Herpes and it will not interfere with a happy and healthy sex life. Since both you and your partner have Herpes you really don’t need to worry about wearing condoms.

I’m in my 30s and found out last year I have Herpes. I never had an outbreak and found out accidently by blood test. I was shocked and ashamed but after doing all of my research I discovered having Herpes is does not affect my normal day to day life. I recently met someone and told him about my Herpes before we had sex and to my surprise who knew even more about Herpes than I did. His ex-wife had it and they were married for 4 years and he never contracted it.

This is an excellent site to learn a lot of information about Herpes. The posters are really nice and will answer all your questions. Http://racoon.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi

Natural methods to increase fertility?

i’m looking for some herbal/natural methods to increase fertility for my partner and myself. Also natural miscarriage preventions would be great. Do these natural fertility methods increase chances of multiple pregnancy? Are they safe? And do they actually work?

Michelle answers:

It really depends on what exactly are you having problems with? His sperm count? Do you Egg-white cervical mucus? I had problems with that and I used Evening Primose Oil and Robitussin with the G word as the main ingredient. I did tons of research. Check this website out and don’t forget to check out the FAQ TTC icon on the lower right. Best of baby dust to ya.
