Nancy asks…
What sins did the Deers did and why it is surrounded by the animals ready to kill ?
Even having so many oppositions to the life, how the deers survive in the forest ?
Michelle answers:
1) Prey and predator:
It is not due to the sin of deer or the punya of the other predator. It is the law of the jungle. A predator is an organism that eats another organism. The prey is the organism which the predator eats. Some examples of predator and prey are tiger and deer, lion and zebra, bear and fish, and fox and rabbit.
Predator and prey evolve together. The prey is part of the predator’s environment, and the predator dies if it does not get food, so it evolves whatever is necessary in order to eat the prey: speed, stealth, camouflage (to hide while approaching the prey), a good sense of smell, sight, or hearing (to find the prey), immunity to the prey’s poison, poison (to kill the prey) the right kind of mouth parts or digestive system, etc. Likewise, the predator is part of the prey’s environment, and the prey dies if it is eaten by the predator, so it evolves whatever is necessary to avoid being eaten: speed, camouflage (to hide from the predator), a good sense of smell, sight, or hearing (to detect the predator), thorns, poison (to spray when approached or bitten), etc.
2) Eco Balance is the secret of the nature:
The cub of the tiger can not eat any other thing by itself. But the frown of the deer can eat grass by itself.
Within natural systems, everything eats something; the predator–prey relationship is part of this world we inhabit. Natural systems achieve balance and sustainability through the process of creatures killing each other for food, in a species hierarchy that has evolved over thousands of years.
Mahabharata, Book 3, Chapter 199, verses 23 & 24:
Dharmavyadha said to Kausika,
‘sarvam vyaptam idam brahman pranibhih pranijivanaih
matsya grasante matsyams ca tatra kim pratibhati te”
“sattvaih sattvani jivanti bahudha dvijasattama
pranino nyonyabhaksas ca tatra kim pratibhati te”
“This whole creation, O Brahmana, is full of animal life, sustaining itself with food derived from living organisms. Dost thou not mark that fish preys upon fish, and that various species of animals prey upon other species, and there are species the members of which prey upon each other?”
3) Ready to kill whom ?
The surrounding of hut of a tapsvi in a dense forest is different from the scene depicted by the questioner!
There are number of references for a homogeneous environment in a tapasvini’s place. The Parnasala – originally meaning a hermitage made of leaves has, apart from its meaning of simplicity and spiritual significance, it will have a friendly atmosphere. Only one example is given here.
Mahabharata, Book 13, Chapter 14, Verse 42:
(Rishi Upamanyu’s hermitage hut surroundings):
” ???????? ?????? ????? ????? ???????? ? ???????
??????? ????????? ???????? ???????????”
‘kridanti sarpair nakula mrgair vyaghras ca mitravat
prabhavad d?ptatapasah samnikarsa gunanvitah’
The mongoose sported there with the snake, and the tiger with the deer, like friends, forgetting their natural enmity, in consequence of the energy of those ascetics of blazing penances and for their proximity to these high-souled ones.
Animals do not kill even their natural enemies!!

Do you find liberals irrational nonsense about FOX News to be amusing?
It’s very hard to respect liberals as a thinking group of intelligent people when they believe in and propagate such irrational nonsense about a news organization that is does nothing more than lean to the right to fill a niche that the mainstream media ignores. Jeez… open your minds.
