Your Questions About Firefox

John asks…

I want my firefox adress bar to go directly to google when I search something?

Usually when you get firefox it already does that but all of the sudden it started to go to something called Bearshare. I want it to go back to google. Can someone help me with this?

Michelle answers:

Open about:config in Firefox (if you doing it for the first time, you may have to promise you are going to be careful)
Search for keyword.url from the filter box.
Double click on this entry. It will open a dialog where you can edit the ‘keyword.url’ string.
Type in: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en-GB&q=

James asks…

How do I open file links with firefox instead of downloading and saving them?

When I click on files such as my online lecture notes, firefox automatically downloads them to my desktop. I just want them to open from the source and not have to save them. How can I change this?

Michelle answers:

Download Mozilla Firefox 3.7.5, this version released last week fixes this issue. But since this is not released to public yet, try downloading from torrent. Here is another source below where you can get it.

Lizzie asks…

How can i fix my firefox internet browser?

Firefox on my computer is really slow and all the videos are choppy as is the sound? My internet explorer works fine but i prefer firefox. What should i do to fix it?

Michelle answers:

You can try re-installing firefox, if by chance that does not work, you may want to try going to www.techsupportalert.com, this is a site full of freeware and reviews for everything, go into pc tools and tune up, and download advanced system care, this program is so very sweet, and will find problems with your registry and automatically fix them, it also has a more extensive disk cleanup and a few utilities you may find very useful. I use it myself and recommend it to all my friends, and it wont cost you a dime. Also under security is some spyware and trojan removal programs, i myself use superantispyware, along with asquaredfree, and both these programs will run nicely with whatever virus scan you are using, or you can get a free one there. Alright, sorry to go on like this, hope i helped.
