Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Steven asks…

I think Im pregnant OMG!! After 6 years!!!!?

Ive been getting SUPER faint pink lines on internet cheapie tests for the past 4 days (I posted them on Y!A before, some might remember) .. I didnt believe them because it was the first time I had ever used them but it seemed like they were getting slightly darker each time

I took a $store test (Baby Test) from Dollar General.. I have taken literally dozens before and never got a line at all that I questioned

Well tonight I got this!!!! The top pic is after 5 minutes, the bottom one is when the test dried

What do you think!!!!???? We’ve been trying for over 6 years with NOTHING AT ALL, and this would be an all-natural pregnancy!!!
I was soooo not expecting this result when I took this test!
Here is my chart… according to FF I am 14dpo today (which is 2 days past my normal leutal phase! So according to FF, Im late!)

Sandy asks…

Miscarriage question?

Has anyone experienced a natural miscarriage, and been told by the doctor there is a small amount (27mm) of clotting in them. They said d&c would do more harm than good because its a small amount, but im still so wrried it will make me infected. Has anyone had this? Pregnancy test is showing negative by the way.

Michelle answers:

A dnc might open you up to infection and you will likely pass the clots within the next few days. I have had 3 miscarriages and haven’t had to have a dnc. Your uterus has a way of cleaning itself out. Go for a two week check up and have them do an ultrasound to make sure everything is cleaned out if you are still worried about it. And i am sorry for your loss.

Donald asks…

question to women who’ve had period’s while pregnant!?

Okay I know It is Posible to have periods while pregnant but I want to know about Personal experiences.

I really didnt have a clue that i was pregnant cause Ive been getting my natural cycles, but the only thing is My cycles have been getting to the point where there every 40 days or a little over that, They usedbut Ive been noticing that I don’t eat my favorite junk foods, cause the smell of them turn me away, and Ive been going to the bathroom more than normal i used to only go like 4 times a day now I go 8 or 9 times a day. and ive been more tired even after getting enough sleep. and i feel sick around alot of food, and I throw up chicken?? Ive done it more than once, and chicken is my one of my favorite foods too.

but these past two months have gotten a little lighter but not much, and also last week i have two Faint Postive pregnancy test.
I would love for anyone of you to tell me your storys about how different ur cycles were or how long did it take for you to notice?
Also My cycles used to be Regular of a 30 day cycle but now its every 40-43days.
they swiched in march?

Michelle answers:

With my first two children I had two periods while pregnant. Not a full period but spotting for 3 or 4 days. Its not uncommon. So just get a more expesive pregnancy test if it was faint then your probably pregnant.

Ruth asks…

Can NOT shake the feeling of being pregnant?

My story is long but interesting, For the past MONTH I’ve felt pregnant, like a natural instinct or click in my brain. I have had a total of 3 Pregnancy tests, 2 HPT’s, 1 was negative, the next (taken 3 days later) was a very faint positive. Went into the doctors today and took YET another pee test, came back negative. Not only that, I’ve had ODD “periods” if you catch my drift. January was not late, but light and only lasted 2 days, I didn’t even need a tampon, I usually go through a box every cycle! February comes along, my period is 6-7 days late, and yet again it’s so light I don’t even need a tampon. Just need to wipe once in awhile. After the Doctors test I thought my mind would be eased and I could continue on normally, but I just can’t convince myself I’m NOT pregnant. It’s like my heart and body know it and they won’t let me drop it. I’ve had ALL the symptoms practically, headaches, nausea, more hungry, peeing more, constipation, possible Hemroids, fatigue, moodiness, cravings, and NOW it seems like my breasts are becoming tender. I’m also really bloated, possibly because I’ve been laying around due to exhaustion. But even if I try to come up with a logical explanation for all my symptoms my mind JUST won’t ease about it. I’ve read about woman who get negative urine tests (home and doctor), even get negative blood tests AND have vaginal bleeding all through pregnancy. I’ve even read about woman who knew in their head were pregnant but couldn’t prove it to the doctor till they were far along or till they gave birth. My question is, has anyone else ever gone through this? Should I honestly trust what my mind and body keep telling me? If not, how can I shake this and stop thinking about being pregnant. Should I require blood work? What about that faint positive I got? I know something is not right with me, I feel it in my mind and body! Help!?
All 3 Pregnancy tests were not the first pee of the morning.
The line I had DID appear at 2-3 minutes :/

Michelle answers:

Well, I don’t know if you know this but if a woman thinks about being pregnant too much her body starts acting like it’s pregnant. Go to the do and get a blood test. It’s the most accurate

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Lizzie asks…

Period after miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage on July 15th and I haven’t yet gotten my period. I took a pregnancy test and its negative so I know I am not pregnant. I called my doctor and said wait until the middle of September to come in. They said they would see what they can do to jump start my period again. Has anyone ever had this happen to them and what did the doctor give you? They said one way is birthcontrol but honestly I really don’t want to go back on it because I was on the depo shot for three years and the pill for 2 months and after quiting both of those it took 7 months to begin a irregular period. Is there anything else I can take or that your doctor prescribed you? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Been trying for 9 months unfortunitly it ended in a natural miscarriage at 4 weeks along.
Had a pregnancy 4 yrs ago and everything turned out fine

Michelle answers:

Hi,
I’m in exactly the same position as you, same time for miscarriage and everything. Arent we a pair!
I’m going to the doctors in 2 hours because I’ve heard that the progesterone tablets are effective to bring on a period, and I’m going to refuse the leave without them! I’m going on holiday in a few weeks and I don’t fancy the idea of having first post m/c period while I’m away, especially as I had a d&c and I think it’s supposed to be quite bad after that. If you’re interested I’ll let you know what the doc says.

Lisa asks…

Could I really be prego?

I stopped taking birth control two months ago, lsat month my period was on time and everything was natural but this month my period never came I am 5 days late and I took two pregnancy test and they were both positive, could I really be pregnant or could it be the effects of getting off the pill. Btw I’ve had cramps but no period.

Michelle answers:

If both of your results are positive then it’s likely that you are pregnant, you need to book an appointment with your GP and they will do an accurate test.

If anything the pill would give you a false negative, you do not get a false positive on a pregnancy test.

I suggest you get yourself to the docs! 🙂

Nancy asks…

How can you lighten your hair safely?

I’m in my last month of pregnancy and would like to know if there are any safe ways I can lighten my hair, to light blonde from medium brown. Any suggestions? Actually, The best one I’ll use always after this, because I have vowed before never to use chemicals on my head for the rest of my life. Just doesn’t make any sense. So anything natural suggested would be GREATLY appreciated!
Amonnia and the other things they put in dye are nasty, not to mention most are tested on animals. My roots are now about 4 1/2 inches long now.

Michelle answers:

Lemon Juice and then lay out in the sun!! I do that

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Richard asks…

Went off birth control pills, missed 3 periods…?

So i was on the pill for about 5 years. I’ve been having health problems as of late, (commonly referred to as IBS), so i went off the pill to see if ceasing the introduction of hormones might help. I got my period in July, then stopped taking the pill at the end of that cycle and haven’t gotten a period since. I haven’t had sex since June, so I’m thinking that, because I got my period in July, i’m not pregnant. I’m mostly sure that the lack of period is just my body trying to get back on its natural course, but am not totally sure. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, and saw my doctor who said there’s a possibility of pregnancy, but wait a few more weeks to be sure.

This is the third period i’ve missed now. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and, if so, how was it resolved? I read somewhere that taking Vitamin B might help kick start your system again… Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Michelle answers:

I don’t know if the viamin B would help, though I do know that BCPs can make you vitamin B deficient, so it’s probably a good idea.

You should start taking cod liver oil, and increasing the natural fats in your diet as a starter. Switching to raw milk from organically grass-fed cows can help as well. Otherwise, you may need to see your doctor.

David asks…

Question about pregnancy, drugs, and outcome?

If a woman was unknowingly 4 months pregnant and took an Ecstasy pill, could this affect the baby’s genes? Like could it have mutations. When you get paternity testing there are markers, and in some rare cases there are natural mutations. Obviously, the mutation wouldn’t be natural but is it possible for that pill to cause a genetic mutation to the fetus?

Michelle answers:

There are really no studies on the effects of ecstasy and newborn children, because the vast majority of mothers are not willing to take drugs (let alone, illegal ones) during the course of their pregnancy for a research study.

It is unfortunate that a woman would unknowingly be pregnant and take drugs that are likely to harm the fetus. It is also unfortunate that in the absence of clinical trials concerning ecstasy, there is no way to know in what way(s) the drug will affect the newborn — the only guess is that the effect will not be positive. A quick google search of this question gives results of brain damage and mental retardation.

In terms of other drugs, every legal Rx drug is assigned a pregnancy category.

United States FDA Pharmaceutical Pregnancy Categories
Pregnancy Category A
Adequate and well-controlled studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy (and there is no evidence of risk in later trimesters).

Pregnancy Category B
Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.

Pregnancy Category C
Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

Pregnancy Category D
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

Pregnancy Category X
Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.

Sharon asks…

just tested positive for pregnancy?

Hi there,

First off I have been married for 4 years, and have 2 beautiful daughters. I just peed on a stick and found out I am pregnant with baby number 3. Just a couple weeks. Here is the dilema…. I have a bowel desise called proclitis. It is like colits but in the rectum, and with the past 2 pregnacys It has fotten so bad I would just lay in bed for weeks and cry. My last baby I had a placenta abrubtion! Which means the plecenta came off my uterus wall and I almost lost her. I could have hemeraged at the same time and been in big trouble. I have done reasearch and have found out that I have a 30% chance of having another one and I am so scared of having a stillbirth……here comes the kicker. 6 days ago I have my breast done and was on 8 different meds. 4 of them being narcotics. I just came off them today. I was under a general anestetic, plus pain killlers, sleeping pills, gravel, antibiotics and so on! I dont know what to do abortion has never been an option for me. I knew I was not okay with having kids after my last baby, after almost losing my last baby! I am so confused and so upset and please dont judge me becasue I am considering this, I never thought I would I would only be 2.5 weeks. My husband and I have been using condoms, and it broke one time… Is there anyway to natural make a miscarriage happen…I feel so bad even saying that I love my girls so much but I just dont think I can do this…………please help

Michelle answers:

I’m going to start of by saying God will give you no more than you can handle! Now as far as the proclitis I’m sure the Dr. Can come up with a plan for treating it while your pregnant. Maybe you should see a specialist. About the surgery, a lot of people in early pregnancy not knowing there pregnant do a lot of things worse than having surgery and taking medicine that was prescribed to them. Of course there is risk with everything , but the Dr. Will even tell you as long as you stop you’ll be fine. I didn’t know I was pregnant with my son for the first 3 months and I partied a lot and he was fine. Of course I stopped when I found out. With this pregnancy I had my wisdom teeth pulled and the Dr. Prescribed me vicodin. They also prescribe percocets under certain circumstances. Don’t beat yourself up about this everything happens for a reason! The only natural miscarriage is an act of God and in most situtations it’s a blessing. I had 2 miscarriages and they say when you miscarry it’s because something was wrong. Just pray on it and take it one day at a time. Good Luck and God Bless!

Lisa asks…

Please Help? What can this all be?!!!!!!!!?

Recently I’ve been experiencing abdominal cramps and I’ve either been sick or felt sick since Christmas eve. My last period lasted 2-3 days when normally they last 7 days. I experienced some spotting about a week or so ago but the day after the spotting I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I have also become more tired than usual, I’m starting get breakouts on my skin and my hair has lost it’s natural shine and looks so dull, I look a complete mess. What could all this be?

Michelle answers:

First of all depending on when your last period was, you could’ve taken the test too early. Also if you’ve been having some stress in your life, like thinking your pregnant, that can take a toll on you and your body and leave you a mess. Now I’m pretty sure you’re not pregnant I think morning sickness shows as early as 6 weeks. Hope this helps or calms you a bit atleast

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Betty asks…

Try To Conceive On Clomid and Scared Of Miscarriage…?

We are about to take our first round of Clomid. I have read it can increase the risk of miscarriage. My doctor has already scheduled all blood test in case we get pregnant, but I’m still totally worried.
I worried through my entire first pregnancy (natural conception) and I thought that #2 might be less stressful, but now I am more worried than ever.

Any positive experiences with conceiving with Clomid?

Michelle answers:

I’ve never heard that one at all. I can’t see how Clomid would cause miscarriages when it is purely to induce ovulation.
My 1st daughter is a clomid & Metformin baby, I had 14 m/c’s before her and purely because I have PCOS and should of been on Metformin to stop miscarrying. Had another M/c after my daughter didn’t take meds) then fell pg again and started metformin straight away and now my youngest daughter is turning 3yrs old in 8 days. TTC #3 now with Metformin 2000mg and Clomid 100mg.

Thomas asks…

need advice, have pcos and just had blood sugar levels tested for insulin resistance?

i have pcos and i am currently 8 weeks with a natural pregnancy,
as a precaution i had my blood sugar levels checked as a lot of pcos sufferers are insulin resistant.
i got my results yesterday which were 5.2 which the nurse tells me is normal (normal being anywhere between 3.5 and 5.5)
i had to fast for 10 hours before the test, so my question is,
how accurate is the test after fasting?
and does a blood sugar result of 5.2 mean i’m deffinately not insulin resistant?

Michelle answers:

Glucose testing is always done fasting.

Susan asks…

Can Vaginal wetness stop pregnancy? Doctor please answer.?

I am 26 years old. My fiancée and I have been having unprotected sex for over 8 months. We want to leave it to nature on getting pregnant. I have never been pregnant. we are at normal weights and we live a healthy lifestyle in the country. I had a LEEP done last year in April, had some slightly abnormal cells but last test in September results where healthy.

We are very sexually active, 5 times a week minimum. My question is when I have intercourse I get very wet, can this prevent me from getting pregnant? I cannot find any information on the interent regarding vaginal mucus. I get excited easily and wetness comes easily before the intercourse.. My fiancée has had three pregnancies in his last relationship, proving he is healthy and able to produce. Can you please help me understand if my body produces a natural spermicide or can block the entry of my cervix? My fiancée was told when trying to conceive in his past relationship by a doctor that his partners wetness can cause the cervix to be blocked. Is that true? Doctors answer please.

Michelle answers:

Hi I read over your question, I am no doctor but I can give you some advice on this. I know how frustrating it can be when you are wanting a pregnancy or are trying with the feeling of…if it happens it happens. I am a 26 year old female who lived with increased vaginal discharge “wetness”. They usually refter to vaginal discharge as a way of your vagina cleaning its-self out so its getting it out of the vagina to keep it clean. People usually have better luck in conceiving when they are trying to conceive when the woman has discharge basically because it helps the sperm stay in… If you will. Have you been to the ob/gyn regularly? There are numerous reasons for someone to have the increased discharge. Even std’s. I know you are probably a healthy woman, but sometimes we have a std and dont know it and that can cause problems in getting pregnant along with a discharge. Also, professionals say that its best to have sex every other day and not every day because when you have sex that much, it lowers the man’s sperm count which can also cause problems in conceiving. So if you keep having problems I would suggest that you go back to your doctor and see what they suggest, it actually may not even be anything to do with you, your fiance may not be able to conceive. So maybe guidance from your primary ob/gyn would be the best bet. I wish you luck and hope everything goes well for you all 🙂

David asks…

My girlfriend MIGHT be pregnant and I’ve been stupid enough to let myself get excited?

Right, I’m 17 and I recently got back with my gf, notice I’m female so it clearly ain’t my baby.

Anywho, we split up just before the Summer after an 11month relationship in which we’d got engaged, we always talked about marrying and having kids and ok I lied, i’m not a girl, i’m a pre-op male-to-female transsexual, so i can have my sperm frozen before I become a girl so we can have kids that are both biological ours, but different story…

During the time we weren’t together, my gf dated this guy who pretty much used her for sex and the last time, about 2weeks before we got back together the comdom broke and now my gf is 3weeks late on her period.

Well I’ve always wanted a kid and I’ve told her I’ll back her all the way and give her any support she needs and I’ve got myself so excited about having a kid now, just if she’s pregnant, i’ll be like a step-Mum which will be awesome.

Only thing is I’ve got excited when she hasn’t even had a pregnancy test and she’s been this late for natural reasons in the…
…past and I’ve let myself get all excited and if the test proves negative, i’m just gonna be well disappointed, I know I’m young and I should be more worried about her being pregnant and praying to God she isn’t, but I just take life seriousl and having a kid for me would be awesome.

How the hell can i stop myself being too disappointed if she tests negative for being pregnant?
Btw, my gf is 16.
The due who said no medical facility would perform the surgery on a minor, yes your correct but that still doesn’t stop me being transsexual, so up yours. Look up transsexual and find out what the word means.
My gf doesn’t agree with abortions and adoption, so i think she’d be having it also by the sounds of her ex, he won’t want anything to do with this child and after how he treated my gf I think she doesn’t want him having contact with it.
The father cheated on her TWICE with the same girl so she wouldn’t go back with him.

Two my gf is straight, I’m just her exception cos we have been insanely in love since we met, when we split up it was for reasons that had nothing to do with our feelings for one another.
Three, a lesbian relationship is no harder than any other.

Michelle answers:

Getting excited about a baby is not stupid hunny – especially with her being 3 weeks overdue.

I have read some of the comments you have received and some are down right stupid so please ignore them, others I kind of agree with – you are both very young, and yes it is her choice what to do with her body…. BUT … If she is pregnant and she wants to keep the baby and has a partner like you that wants to look after her and the baby then you are in a better situation than most pregnant women. I say good luck to you! I am really happy for you – I hope that all goes well for you both.

Good luck with the operation also.

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Charles asks…

When will I be Pregnant?! Pill question?

Hey so I stopped my pill on the 8th of July and had the unnatural period wich ended around the 15th. I had some funny pains which felt like period coming but nothings happening! Is it too soon for a natural period? Am i Pregnant? I dunno. I had been on it for 3 years. Before that my periods were normal and regular. When should I take a pregnancy test? Many thanks 🙂

Michelle answers:

It depends when and if you were sexually active in that time frame, but the docs usually go off your last period ! I am unfamiliar with the whole pill thing, but usually for a home pregnancy test it takes a 4 – 5 weeks for it to show on the test. Good luck and just wait for a while or consult your doc and see if they can do blood work on you !

Michael asks…

Pregnant… 3 positive tests?

Omgggg sooooo happy ;D ;D ;D got a natural BFP this morning.I am 23 and i have been TTC for 3 years and have irregular periods every 3-4months and my last period was 30th september 2010

i took 3 pregnancy tests they were all positive but on 2 of them the Control line is fainter than the Test line-is it not ment to be the other way about,

Also i just dont feel pregnant my boobs are a wee bit tender but they havent got darker or anything, i have been cramps in my belly which feel like a period coming, a was reading up and what if its a cyst and not a baby 🙁 ;( am scared

Michelle answers:

It’s not a cyst it’s a baby congratulations!! You have been trying for 3 years for this so of course you are scared and worried that it isn’t real but it is and maybe getting it all confirmed with your doctor will help you to feel like it’s really happening.

It doesn’t matter if the control line is the fainter of the two as long as it’s there and don’t worry about symptoms, sometimes they take a while to kick in and some women don’t have any at all and that is all normal,i never had a single one with my first baby but everything was just fine.

John asks…

Am I Pregnant please help?

I had a miscarriage in July an early one at six weeks natural. My Hcg levels dropped to 4. Now my period has not come I can understand it can be all over the place however I have just done two pregnancy test and they both had a very faint positive. Is it really possible for me to be pregnant or even ovulated yet?? Or does a hcg of as low as 4 give a positive in a pregnancy test??

Michelle answers:

It’s possible, yes. A level of 4 will not give a positive pregnancy test, so I would recommend going to get a blood test to see what the levels currently are. Good luck, and I’m sorry to hear about your loss. 🙁

Sharon asks…

Do you think I’m pregnant? Best answer goes to the correct one, tomorrow?

Possible conception was probably about 12 days ago and about a week after conception I wiped and saw pink fluid. Implantation bleeding, I think. Later, I had horrible constipation and gas, mild low back pain, yesterday I started to get mild headaches on and off, nauseous feeling on and off. I have an irregular period, so I can’t wait for my missed period. Took a pregnancy test 9 days after sex, too early and it was negative. Took a blood test today and will hear the results tomorrow. Today I got moody, maybe from the stress. I was depressed, then I cried, then I was happy. I’ve been sleepy lately. I’ve been spotting a lot recently and today it was a brownish red color and there was quite a bit of it… I was like “Am I starting my period?” then it was gone! And then I spotted a little more later on. Do you think I’m pregnant? Best answer goes to the correct one tomorrow!

P.S. My symptoms are pretty light, is this natural because it would be early in the pregnancy? It’s also not too soon to be feeling pregnant because all women are different. Please read the whole thing, some people don’t and their answers annoy me. Thank you so much!!
Wow, JUST said please read the whole thing and I mentioned I already took a blood test. Don’t even answer if you don’t take the time to read.

Michelle answers:

I have everythign crossed for you! It does sound like possible implantation bleeding. Spotting is common in early pregnancy, especially around the time your period would be due.

I’m not going to say either way whether I think you are or aren’t, cos to be told you’re not is crushing, and to be told you are, and get false hope, then find out you’re not, is also cruel. I have my own theory but I’ll sit tightly on my fence until the beta result :O)

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Lisa asks…

Stopped taking the pill just over a month ago?

as my partner and I want to try for a baby, My period was a week late this month, did a pregnancy test but negative result. I finally started my period yesterday (10/05/07) does that now mean that my body has gone back into it’s natural cycle and that my body will be ovulating again over the next month??? Therefore it will be possible to get pregnant???? Is it normal to go back into cycle so quick??? My Mum never had a period for two months after coming off the pill when she was trying for me then the third month off pill she had a period then the following month she concieved, could I follow in my Mum’s foot steps???? Sorry it’s all a jumbled question, I’m just confused???

Michelle answers:

Everyones body works diffrntly. It took me 6 months after coming off the pill to get pregnant with my first child, yet i have a friend got pregnant the first month. . You could be having periods but still not be ovulating regularly. So just relax, enjoy the practising and try not to let it stress u out ( there’s plenty of time for stressing once the kiddy arrives lol) good luck

Mandy asks…

unsure of my possible due date.?

i have just taken a home pregnancy test and it came out possitive. i had a natural misscariage on the 12 of sept. and have not seen the dr. yet ( appointment is on thursday) i am wondering seeing how i did not have a mensteral cycle what date my dr. will use to find out how far along i am. if you have any idea what date he will use or aprox. how far along i could be please let me know.

Michelle answers:

I would think your doctor would do like most and use the first day of your last period and even though it was a miscarriage it would still technically be considered a period. So if you use sept 12th as your first day of your last period the due date calculator gives you a due date of june 19th and you would be about 8 weeks pregnant. Although under the circumstances they will probably do an early ultrasound to date the pregnancy and use that as a guide line. I hope this helps i am sorry about your loss and would like to say congrats and good luck with this new pregnancy.

Chris asks…

Am I pregnant?

My period is irregular. I’ve been having what feels like menstrual cramps for about a week now, but I still haven’t started. I’ve had cycles that have lasted up to 46 days in the past. I’m on day 36 right now. Should I take a pregnancy test now, or should I wait to see if I start in the next week?

By the way, I’ve been through quite a few major life changes recently–I got married on August 4th, moved into a new place with my husband, and started a new job on August 7th. Could all of this just be my body’s way of slowing down after all of the chaos?

Are there any ways to tell if I’m pregnant without taking a pregnancy test? I really don’t think my husband and I are ready to be parents yet. We just got married and are LOVING married life…being just us. We were just hoping to get settled before starting a family. We’re using natural family planning, but it’s difficult with me having an irregular cycle, you know?
Just to let everyone know…I am pregnant! The more my husband and I talked about it, the more excited we got and we did two different pregnancy tests this weekend and both were positive. Thanks for your advice!

Michelle answers:

Hi.
I have been married for 2 years.
Right away when I got married my period started to get really irregular.
I still haven’t gotten preg. But now I know I am.
Well my last period was around Spring Break.
Well man for about 2-3 weeks my stomach hurted alotALOT
I couldn’t even walk run stand up or even laugh or talk
Well since I’ mirregular I never know when i’m gonna get it. But that time I got it..
But before it came I was in BIGG pain!
So maybe it’s your period..
Dont worry..

Linda asks…

Is it safe to do a daniel fast if you think you might be pregnant?

It has been six week since my last cycle. I’m rather regular, stress usually affects my hair so, I’m 99.9999% sure that I am pregnant. My pastor called for a 21 day Daniel Fast starting last sunday. I am planning on going to the doctor monday to take a pregnancy test get my .0001%. The daniel fast although is an all natural diet- no meat, no dairy, no processed foods, no sugar non of that sort.

Don’t under any circumstances do this if you are pregnant. You are depriving your baby of all the goodness it needs to thrive. How will you live with yourself if by doing this you affect the growth and health of your unborn child.

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Lisa asks…

My period is late 8 days?? what should I do to regulate it???

ok I have been TTC with no luck for 7 months now, anyway I used a pregnancy test on the 27th of Oct. and it came negative. But now its 8 days late??? I dont want to spend my $ again on those stupid tests, and I dont want to get dissapointed again. My breasts are sore and have little but rare cramping??? ohhh and its not stress because I havent even been thinking of pregnancy anymore 🙂 ? should I buy that natural pills called fertilaid to regulate my periods again???

Michelle answers:

I think you might be pregnant. Have you been to the doctor? I think you should relax and go and see one if you haven’t. Stress can delay your period but if you haven’t been late before I think you might have some good news. My friend’s period was 3 weeks late and her home pregnancy test came back negative. Get advice from your doctor about fertilaid. Good luck to you.

Joseph asks…

Michael asks…

A question for women who already have kids…?

I tried looking it up, but all I could find were questions asking how long after sex can you take a pregnancy test… so here goes five points.

I’m a first time mom, due in July, and just wondering what sex feels like the first time after having a child given that it’s a natural birth, not a cesarean. Does it feel different, or hurt because you’ve been stretched? Just curious!

Michelle answers:

Some people say its alright the first time but for both my kids it hurt after..but you have to get back on the horse to get used to it! Use alot of lube the first couple of times. By the way my first was born in july ;).
Congrats.

Donald asks…

How Far Along Am I !!?

I recently had a miscarriage on Dec. 2 ending in a natural m.c. not a D&C. We waited 2 weeks and had sex again a few times. I took a pregnancy test then to confirm that the hormones had lowered to an undetectable level so if I did get pregnant the tests later on would be right. The day before yesterday I took two tests that said I was pregnant again. Since I dont know when I ovulated I dont know how far along I am. Thanks for any advice!
ovulation is different after a miscarriage then a regular cycle. I want to know if any woman have had this problem and how they could tell how far a long they were.
Like I said I took a 2 neg pregnancy tests about 2 weeks ago that told me my hormones went down. Now the tests say I am pregnant so I know that I am.
FYI: I had an ultra sound done to confirm the baby had completely passed after the miscarriage.

Michelle answers:

Your pregnancy test may have came back positive, because you are still carrying enough of the HCG hormone in your system, to give you a positive reading, even if your not pregnant.
It usually teks 6 wks for your hcg hormone levels to go back to normal so i wouldnt think to much about being pregnant just yet just to be let down and find out your not pregnant and if you was to be pregnant this early after a misscarrige it could happen again. Your supose to wait a few months for your body, to return to normal. After a miscarriage your supose to wait untill all the bleeding and spotting to quit before having sex. Which is usually 6 to 8 wks after. I know you said you took a test to confirm that you levels had lowered but thats very uncommon unless you wasnt but a few wks pregnant. But if you are pregnant id say your about only 2 wks which would be pretty early to detect on a home test. That would put you at having sex around the 16th and giving 3-4 days for sperm to reach the egg so lets say concieved date around the 20th so about 2 wks and 5 days

Michelle answers:

Perhaps they had a temporary broadcast problem.

Mark asks…

One fox killed 23 of my chickens 2 rabbits & bert the ferret in one night so why do they get so much sympathy?

If they were wolves & it was children they wer killing the hunt would be considered an essential service….. well Bert the ferret was like a furry son to me & the rabbits wer his sisters the chickens his mad aunties. As you can see i love animals as much as the next man but when i see that fox he will be shot (the BA@#ARD)

Michelle answers:

I agree absolutely. It is urban people who like foxes as they never have any dealings with them. I watched a whole litter of bunnies die when I was unsuccessful in feeding them after their mother was one of many rabbits killed by a fox when I lived in London. Now I live in the country, I am pleased if I just wing one of these devil creatures as I draw comfort from thoughts of its lingering death.

Your Questions About Natural Pregnancy Test

Sharon asks…

Did anyone else skip their glucose test and some prenatal visits?

This is my third pregnancy. I feel fantastic and just began my 3rd trimester. My baby moves a lot Ive gained 16 pounds and ulrasounds and bloodworks perfect. So I feel like this glucose test isnt that important and I dont feel like going to the docs just to get weighed and lsten to the heartbeat ( i have a device to do that from home. I work for myself doing daycare and refuse to take time off unless its an emergency. I feel like a woman who is in tune with her body and is experienced has good judgment enough to know when its time to be seen my a doctor. I like the natural approach. Did anyone else feel this way?

Michelle answers:

In a way yes I do feel as you except a responsible woman must read up about her body and the tests she is choosing not to take and talking it over perhaps with a lay midwife or naturopathic physician. If not then in my opinion one is being ignorant and lazy. I believe however, that an informed woman who knows her body due to the disciplined education on the subject that she has spent untold hours pouring through and understands the risks, as well as understands the responses a body gives if it where to go out of whack and what they mean then ok, go for the naturazl route. In my opinion though the best route is managed care through a naturopathic doctor and midwife so you have the freedom to make such choices within a structured knowledgable setting. As far as I go, I procrastinate to the ends of the earth due to my distrust of the modern medical establishment and hatrred of needles, but I have done sooo much reading on this subject that I find myself knowing more than the doctors, more often than not as well as knowing a good heaping dose of herbology and naturopathic and midwiferey medicine. I had gestational diabetes in the past and automatically go on my own modified gestation diabetes diet when I become pregnant, that this past pregnancy I should of by all accounts tested positive after 2 gestational diabetic pregnancies, but I beat it and didn’t have it according to thier tests, which is unheard of! If going natural is your preference then please find yourself a lay midwife, they are in all states to my knowledge just do a search. I would trust these powerful women with my body any day over a phd. If you do not conform to your doctors tests there is a very real danger of them or the hospital calling child protective services, it has happened and in certain cases they have kept the mother from taking her baby home! Which I think is idiotic since isn’t it supposed to be her body to do what she wants with?? You have the right to kill your unborn child but if you don’t see a doctor for prenatals your negligent… What a crock.

Jenny asks…

Whats the deal?? PLEASE HELP?

I had a natural m/c at 6 weeks on Aug. 5th. A blood test confirmed that my hcg level were completely gone. I took a clear blue digital pregnancy test last Saturday, 11 days after conception and it was positive followed by two more positive tests from First Response. Today I took another clear blue test and it’s negative but I haven’t had my period or bled anything.

Michelle answers:

There are such things as false negatives and if this is 10 past conception, it is possible the negative test was not sensitive enough to detect your HCG levels this soon.

I would schedule a blood test because you are most likely pregnant and you will want to start prenatal care sooner than most since you just miscarried and the Dr’s may want to monitor you more closely.

Your regular Dr can perform the blood test if you cant get in to your OB/gyn right away.. Once you have confirmation, you can tell your ob/gyn you had a blood test and you are in fact pregnant, just recently miscarried and want to start prenatal care early.

Take it easy, don’t do any strenuous activity or lifting and stay off your feet at night as much as possible until you know for sure and to make sure that all is OK.

I hope congratulations are in order and I wish a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Daniel asks…

What are the chances?

I had sex for the first time, I’m not on birth control but we used a condom. I really nervous and I’m sure that’s natural after your first time but how long until I can use a pregnancy test and be sure that I’m no pregnant? What are signs of pregnancy? PLEASE HELP

Michelle answers:

First there is no need to be afraid; since you used a condom. These days most condoms are reliable. You may have to wait for 45 days to get a test. You may get the periods before that.

Steven asks…

Need some advice women, please, did I fail or am I again??!?!?!?

Okay I just posted….

Miscarriage on August 16th – 19th

Ovulation (according to almost everyone) – August 30th (14 days after miscarriage)….

September 1st-3rd …. light bleeding, started off brownish then got pinkish – only when wiped and periodically throughout the day, sometimes when wiped, sometimes not – no panty liner needed.

period like cramping around 7th & 8th this month….

more period cramping around 28 days after miscarriage (when menses was suposed to start) 13th/14th this month….

Had an early miscarriage last month, lost pregnancy around implantation, but body expelled 2 1/2 weeks later…natural miscarriage, levels followed down to 0…..everything great, doc said try again!!

(Increase in cervical discharge for the past 3 weeks)

Pregnancy test tonight – (2 tests) “Answer” brand, both negative…. if I would have ovulated the 30th or 31st of August wouldn’t a home test show positive by now, if I am pregnant again?? (sexually active since MC)
first of all lil_guicho, I am 23 and have 3 children (healthy mind you) – and you’re wrong, they come before anything, I was given the “go ahead” by my doctor – so please take your rubbish somewhere else darling 🙂

Michelle answers:

Well you must be a youngster because that is a tramatizing thing for some women. I mean having sex so soon after a miscarriage goes to show you dont really care about anyone but yourself. And what if you are pregnant? Then you have another one? I’m not trying to be mean but i just seems like your too young to realize what being pregnant is all about. I would just ask your doctor and they can tell you everything you need to know. Good Luck though!

Your Questions About The Oldest Natural Pregnancy

Mandy asks…

Your view on having a child “young”?

I was just wondering what peoples views are on “young” pregnancies, like teenpregnancy etc…

because i am 19 now and have a 8 month old baby, i had her when i was 18, she was planned, i am with the father of our child, we have a house and job, but people always said your too young, you won’t cope, your freedoms gone… but my freedom hasn’t gone, i still get all the freedom i want, like a night out every 2 months does me fine, i’m coping very well, her grandparents only have her fri and sat every week, which its natural… she has all she needs and wants… we look after her and do everything for her, she comes first and we know that, we have no regrets at all… we are coping that well we are talking about having another… mainly because we just want her to have a brother or sister to play with, but we are really wanting another and are going to try some day soon i think but what are your views on “young” pregnancies????? Personally i think aslong as you are 16+ and are physically and emotionally ready then it is fine, obv you have to have money and be able to provide for the baby but i think young people shouldn’t get judge as much as they do because not all teens sleep about, having babys to anyone and then neglecting them… some of the younger generation do want a kid to be a family and for the right reasons. i didn’t have mine so i would be loved or anything like that because i had all the love i wanted off my bf but we wanted a baby because we knew we was ready to be a complete family.
THIS QUESTION ISN’T ABOUT ME… I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHATS YOUR VIEW ON ALL “YOUNG” PREGNANCIES??. CURIOUS!. 🙂
🙂 @All Who Commented – thank you all for you feedback and opinions, much appreciated 😀
@rnwallac… – thank you for you feedback and me and my partner are engaged but i didn’t want to put “my fiance” because i knew i would get well if your engaged why aren’t you married if you have a kid etc and i didn’t want to waste time explaining that we are planning on getting married, but we have talked and want a wedding to remember… with our child as a bridesmaid, she isn’t able to walk yet so it would be nice to wait til she can so she can be our bridesmaid… we are focusing on her before getting married, i know it doesn’t cost much for a wedding if you are willing to just go sign a piece of paper and not have everything with it.. but personally i would like a day that me, my fiance and my child can enjoy, with a after party and do it properly… so to your marriage statements i just want to say we are engaged, i just didn’t want people judging me for being engaged and not married when actually we are planning to get married as we have a stro
@rnwallac… – (continued) strong relationship, he proposed on my birthday, unexpectedly but i said yes and we will 1 day… just not this year i don’t think…. thanks for the comment though 🙂
@rnwallac… – oh and sorry to go on lol but the 16+ comment i didn’t mean if your 16+ just go ahead and have a baby, you misunderstood, i meant if your younger then 16 then surly you can’t be ready to have a baby, i am not judging people myself i am just seeing it has under 16 to me is still a kid… even though it is 18 when you are meant to be a adult… no matter if you are say 21.. if you are not physically and emotionally and finacially ready then don’t have 1… i depends on the person not the age i guess.
@Lys – thank you for the feedback…i understand what you are saying about maturity etc, i am not saying i am perfect but i have always been mature, i don’t know if it is how i have been brought up but i have always been careful in so many ways, ive always thought before doing something, like i waited for the right guy to come along before doing stuff, and 16 i met the father of my child and i am 19 now and we are together still taking care of our baby, i never went out drinking in town underage (mainly because i knew what was out there like men that rape etc) so i have always been known as a mature person, mind of a adult kind of thing.. i did childcare at college so that helped me find out more about baby’s etc but before i got pregnant i was ready to give up everything, i took it all in that my life would change.. and made sure we could afford to keep her and give her the best and we are doing that.. i have no regrets at all.. and i am glad how my life has panned out.. i am
@adele – thank you for your wonderful feedback, i really do agree that marriage doesn’t change anything, (if your a good parent getting married won’t make you a better 1 etc).. so i agree with you.. and well i hope your baby is a boy for your baby’s sake (it is no fun being a girl with older brothers and no sister haha i have 2 older brothers 🙁 haha)… good luck with your pregnancy though. 🙂 all the best.

Michelle answers:

There will always be judgmental people out there who have opinions on teenage pregnancy. I myself feel that if your mature, able to nurture a child, give it a stable home and give it all the love and warmth a child needs then what difference does make what your age is. On the other hand there’s the teenagers who have a baby for all the wrong reasons and that’s whats people tend to judge all teenage mothers on and that’s a shame. For example last week i was walking into town it had been snowing the day before so it was really cold, a girl of around 16 was pushing a pushchair with a baby of around 9 month old, the poor baby didn’t have a coat, hat, gloves or blanket! I wanted to stop the girl and say something, but at the end of the day it wouldn’t of done any good. Reading your question warmed my heart, you’re a really good mum who provides everything for her child and doesn’t rely on anyone else for any help. Being married to your partner doesn’t make anyone a better parent so you shouldn’t have to explain yourself to no-one. I had my first child at 19, then 2 years later had my second, 3 years later i had twin boys ( my other 2 are boys too!) I found out a week ago that i’m pregnant again. You and your partner give teenage parents a good name, you’re doing a wonderful job of bringing up your baby. I wish you all the luck in the world for the future and hope a little brother or sister comes along safely, congratulations on your engagement. You both should be very proud xxx May i just add, on reading the other comments for all the judgemental people out there, all my children are to the same father we have been together 13 years and are very happy together. You don’t need to be married to prove your a better parent!!!!

Steven asks…

Which one of these story lines are the most interesting to you? Rate them if you want?

Marie Shore, an un-successful solo photographer, has had enough. She is constantly jumping around to different guys and never keeping one for more than a few months. To top all of that she is also is not selling ANY photos. Once she gives up she finally decides to leave everything in America and ship herself to Paris, France to start over. She only has hope that France appreciates her photos unlike people in America.

Alyssa Bell grew up in the most non-religious family. She was an only child, not wealthy, and would date any guy. What do you think she grow up to be? The same? Or completely different? She ended up single, with 14 kids who have different dads, rich, and VERY religious. This is a comedy about her and her kids.

July Milson is an average teenage girl. But to her she seems like the only normal person in her school. Her school is known for many things; drugs, pregnancies, arrests, shootings, everything. July doesn’t feel safe and knows the consequences for following the others in her school. She’s really smart but will people be able to persuade her?

Mark Stephen, a homeschooled eleven year old boy year old boy, lives in a normal house with one story and a basement. To the world the house is normal. To him the house is very odd. He would be very alert and jumpy when he’s home alone but he would try be out of the house as much as possible at night. He would feel the walls close in, he would hear voices and sounds, and he would feel un-natural wind. But once he sees a small glowing girl in his living room he’s determined to find out the story of the house.

Michelle answers:

All of them are pointless. There’s no conflict. The fourth is the only slightly interesting yet the most.

First One- So what? She goes to France, what’s interesting about this? It’s just someones boring life.

Second one- Comedy about her and her kids? It’s so unlikely. You can’t have lots of kids yet be rich and single and you can’t be religious and have lots of kids from different dads. It’s almost impossible.

Third One- And then what happens?

None of them are full plots. There’s some pretty cliché idea’s on here but at least they’re developed. Try again.

Daniel asks…

Why is the world no longer innocent?

I’m serious. You can search “bunny” and get porn because of stupid Playboy (hate the company, the idiots sell the merchandise to kids!)!

More kids are allowed access to porn by a click of a button. I, in fact, DO have something wrong with this, it’s nasty! I know the number has lowered to 8%, but still, why the hell are teens having pregnancies? It should be illegal in the United States for anyone under 18 to have sex.
Ignoring that topic I oh-so-hate, It’s not natural.
I hate puppy mills. Still don’t see how they are even allowed to be the crap bags of the day. Wish we could outlaw it somehow. If only the world was so easy, I could make a wish, and wars and bullies and mean people and rape and stuff, would go *poof* and we would have a pure world. But again, if it wasn’t for Eve, we wouldn’t have the world we have today.
Some parents just don’t give a shat about their kids, do they? I don’t like those kind of parents that stock up the house tons of food and treats to make their kids fatty fat, FAT fat fatty fat. It’s a KID, not an elephant. No need for them to turn like Jessica (400 lb 7 yr old, lost weight but her stomach has stretched so she feels hungry all the time)
Some emo’s are annoying because of lack of grammar, or saying they want to die over something dumb like: “he hates me waaah im gonna go kill may self “. What? People, I’m sorry, but you only get ONE life. There is absolutely no need to hurt YOURSELF, because it’s not your fault. And there are a lot more “fish in the sea” or “birds in the sky” or even “berries in the bushes.”
Does ANYBODY agree? ANYBODY?
Oops. I meant NOT AS, not NO LONGER.

Michelle answers:

I agree with you about some of the things you listed.
-i agree that this world and the media is completely perverted. Everything has to do with sex jokes. It’s not even humor…
-and i agree puppy mills should be illegal. It makes me cry
-and it’s true a lot of parents dont care about their kids. But there are many parents who put their whole lives into their children (like my parents). They are the best people on this Earth, and i swear by that. But honestly, i think it’s completely sick that some parents dont let their kids even eat junk food! They’re kids! Let them eat cookies before it actually matters.
-and yes, people that complain about their lives are very annoying. I HATE when people complain about break-ups, and stupid sh.t like that. For god’s sake, i went through skull and jaw surgeries. Now that’s something to complain about.

I am saddened by this world today. It needs to be simpler. Good question.
Just be careful though. I posted a question similar to yours last week. Yahoo deleted it because they said i was ranting. How lame..lol

Maria asks…

Anyone else dealt with this? My mare has a Granulosa-cell tumor on her ovaries?

I’ve had my mare since she was a 3-yr old 🙂 she is now 7 and over the past 2 months had quite a change in her behaviour. She’s become moody and shown stallion-like behaviour and has become quite a handful to work with and ride. Originally I thought this could be due to her first season of the year, perhaps she had a hormone imbalance and was actually a moody mare? However, I couldn’t see why she would change at 7, and not earlier. I had her back, teeth, and saddle checked, did some natural horsemanship with her and it did help a bit. I made sure she was worked daily even if I couldn’t get down and varied her work to keep her interested. All this helped up until a few weeks ago.

She hurt herself in the field after trying to mount another horse, and had to be x-rayed. They accidently found the tumour then and have since studied it. It’s extremely large, about >15cm and sits close to her left ovary. It’s changed her hormones and the vet says that at the moment, she’s producing more testosterone than oestrogen. The only way to treat it is for her to have surgery but they can perform it with her standing up.

Has anyone ever dealt with this before? How did your horse cope? How long were they out of work for and did they face any complications? I’ve talked to my vet but I’d like to know of any other owner’s experiences… My mare is also pedigree and I was hoping to put it into foal in a few seasons time…. To me, if she has to have surgery on her ovaries, this will mean future pregnancies will not happen… Can anyone tell me otherwise??

Thank you, any other knowledge or advice would be much appreciated.

Michelle answers:

I don’t have personal experience with it, but I can tell you that if only one ovary is affected, which is typically the case, then there is no reason to believe the mare won’t be fertile and able to breed within the the year in most cases. Each ovary produces eggs, and provided that the right ovary is tumor-free, once the impact of the hormone imbalance from the diseased ovary is removed, normal ovulation will resume in the healthy ovary, and your mare can then be impregnated.

The vet performing the surgery is your best resource for information on expected recovery time, what the follow-up will entail, and what complications might be encountered. All of this should be discussed in advance of the surgery.
Standing laparoscopic removal of ovaries has been performed for many years and has evolved so that complications are minimal and recovery is likely to progress well.
Be sure you are confident in the vet performing the procedure, and don’t be afraid to ask how many of these procedures he or she has performed. Have the vet outline the details of the procedure to be performed, all risks, and potential complications. There should be a surgical permit you are required to sign, and before you sign it, be sure you understand everything included in it. You can also ask if he or she can provide references before you decide to go ahead with the surgery.. The vet may or may not be able to provide names of former clients whose horses have undergone the procedure and who are willing to share their experiences with you. The ability to do that depends on the client’s cooperation due to privacy law issues.
Realize that there are always risks with any surgical procedure, and learning about them can scare you off. But your mare needs to have this tumor removed, and it is fortunate that today this can be done laparoscopically with minimal risks.
