Your Questions About Facebook

Lisa asks…

What happens if you deactivate your facebook account?

If you are an admin of a page you created on facebook, does that mean that if you deactivate your account, then reactivate it you will no longer be an admin of that particular page on facebook? Or will you always stay an admin? Thank you!
I deactivated my facebook page a few hours ago, and about 10 minutes I reactivated it, but it doesn’t show that I am an admin of the page that I created. Will I no longer be admin?

Michelle answers:

When you deactivate your account, your profile and all its associated information are immediately made inaccessible to other Facebook users. Although this means that you effectively disappear from the service, your information will remain saved by Facebook so that you can reactivate your account whenever you want.

Linda asks…

How do I report Facebook phishing scams to Facebook without signing up?

I get about 4 email scams about Facebook a week and I want to forward them to Facebook for their investigation. I’m NOT a member & have no intention on being. All I want is a email address to forward this crap to. I’m trying to do Facebook a favour!

Michelle answers:

Just contact them.
It’s gotta be on facebook somewhere
(the link to contact them)

Paul asks…

What are the other ways of uploading pictures on Facebook?

Except for uploading directly to facebook, because it always fails. I also know about iPhoto. So are there other ways? Like you upload to another site, and it can directly import your pics to facebook? Help!

Michelle answers:

You can use simple uploader at the bottom of the page when you are about to upload a photo, or you can send it to your phone from your email & then upload it using facebook mobile. It will then go into an album titled “mobile uploads”

Ken asks…

Where can I find Facebook surveys to copy and paste to Facebook?

I want to fill out surveys on Facebook. I am trying to find some online and copy and paste them into the notes section on Facebook, but I can’t find any new/good ones. Any help??

Thanks.

Michelle answers:

These facebook surveys is a spammy thing. They tend to take your profile information to their servers. There are no such surveys.

Your Questions About Forever 21

Michael asks…

What are other stores similar to Urban Outfitters and Forever 21?

i love Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters! are there any other stores with similar styles?

Michelle answers:

I’m in love with Urban 2, you can try Anthropologie @ anthropologie.com

Donald asks…

How much do forever 21 pants shrink?

I recently bought a pair of teal pants from forever 21. I knew they were a little big, but I loved them so much so i bought them thinking they can shrink. So how can you shrink pants quickly?

Michelle answers:

You have to make sure the jeans have to be 100 percent cotton or they’ll barely shrink at all. You should rinse the jeans thoroughly(the more wet they are the better they’ll shrink) in hot water(also shrinks it better). Put your dryer on the highest settings it goes and dry them for 40-60 minutes. Make sure their fully dry or else they just get bigger throughout the day. Good luck , I know what a pain it can be when jeans are too big. 🙂

Chris asks…

Can I return a bag at a Forever 21 that I bought at a DIFFERENT Forever 21?

I bought a bag at a Forever 21 in a city 30 minutes away from mine. Can I return it at my local Forever 21? Also, I cut off the tag already, but I still have it, along with the little plastic attaching string. I have the receipt too.
Ah, I meant exchange! I want to exchange the bag for a different color!

Michelle answers:

You should be able to return it at your local store, providing you take along the receipt and tags. Though, say the tag “must have torn when the assistant put it in the bag”.
They will either offer you a refund (in which case you can spend the money on a new bag), a gift card or an exchange.

Ruth asks…

How long does Forever 21 take to ship?

I placed my order a few minutes ago this Friday night on Forever 21 and I was curious to know how long does the standard shipping take? I ordered 7 items and it was over $50. I live and Texas if that is of any relevance. This is my first time to order from their online store. So from personal experience, what is an estimate I will have to wait before receiving my packages?

Michelle answers:

I live in TX too, and the most I had to wait was 2 weeks. They don’t ship on the weekends so Monday is whenever it begins.

Your Questions About Food Network

Ruth asks…

Where can I watch Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger?

Not the episode clips or interviews, FULL EPISODES only. I already tried youtube, google videos, and food network online.

Michelle answers:

Food network on your tv?

Helen asks…

Going to the grocery store on a budget?

I love Food Network and their recipees but quite frankly, most of recipes cost you about $30.00 or more to make. This adds up to roughly $150.00 (only if you count on left-overs for 2 nights out of the week) and doesn’t even include you non-food items. For the MANY who are on budgets…what recipes do you have that are frugel in the ingredient department?

Thank you for any suggestions!!

Michelle answers:

I love Food Network too!

Best idea, get a cookbook of some of your favorite chefs on FN, or just go to their website. The best way to budget when shopping is not to buy cheap stuff. The way to do it is to select recipes that go together.

For example, if you do one chicken, one beef, and one fish meal each week…
1. Salmon filet with pineapple and rice
2. Spicy chicken with a pineapple salsa (pineapple, green peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and whatever else sounds good to you). Spice up the chicken with chili powder, black pepper, and some garlic. It will be delicious.
3. Burrito night! Brown some ground beef, use your left over rice from the first recipe, throw in the cilantro, lime juice, green peppers and garnish with a little sour cream and cheese… You can wrap all of it up in a tortilla and you haven’t cost yourself a fortune.

Total Shopping List –
Salmon
Chicken
Beef
Cilantro
Green Pepper
Lime
Pineapple
Tortillas
Rice
Sour Cream
Cheese

Easy to do it for under $50 a week. But like I said before, just look for recipes that use a lot of the same ingredients.

Good Luck!

Sharon asks…

How many vegetarians are there in the United States?

I would like to know the population of vegetarians in the United States because I think the Food Network really needs a vegetarian cooking show because as a vegetarian and a huge fan of Food Network I think it would be brilliant.

Michelle answers:

It’s estimated that 1% of the US population is vegan and 2.5% are vegetarian. This number has increased as the population has increased.

By this (I think) reasonable and even low estimate, with the current population of the US at 300 million, that would mean 7 and 1/2 million vegetarians and around 3 million vegans.

Cool! That is a significant minority. Plenty to warrant a veggie cooking show on Food Network.

Oh, and let me recommend a veggie cooking show that already exists: The Post Punk Kitchen (www.theppk.com)

They have great cookbooks and an awesome website with forums and everything!

David asks…

how do people make soup like butternut squash soup, before food processors were invented?

i am watching Ina on food network and she is pureeing everything. so what did people do before the invention of food processors.

Michelle answers:

Mashers didn’t work well. They did use food mills, and large mortars.

Your Questions About Fafsa

Jenny asks…

What happens to FAFSA if I drop a class and become a part-time student?

My aid has already gone through my school, but I’m basically failing a class and I can’t afford it to bring my GPA down, so I’m thinking of dropping it, but if that is the case, I will have less than 12 credits. Will FAFSA make me start repaying my loans if I do so, even for just a semester?
I’m a second year. I don’t have many withdrawls or retakes, but I definitely don’t have the greatest GPA in the world right now (2.7) and I need to get it up to at least a 3.0. I’m planning on talking to an advisor this week for sure, and my professor for the course, but I just wanted to know how it will work with FAFSA. I’m going to be taking 12+ credits the rest of my academic career, but it’s just working out with my schedules that I don’t need many credits each semester, so that’s why it will be down to less than 12 credits. I know they make you pay if you drop out of school, and I know they don’t give out aid to those who are going to be part time students (less than 12 credits). So that’s my concern right now.

Michelle answers:

You may lose some of your aid. But, as long as you’re going to school at least 1/2 time, you’ll still be eligible for aid through the FAFSA.

Michael asks…

If I start a fafsa application and start over will it take my spot?

I started my Fafsa application in january and i never finished it. I tried to submit it but it kept telling me that i couldnt so I was thinking about starting all over. But i dont know if doing that will take my spot in line or if it would stay the same. Please help!

Michelle answers:

Your “spot in line” is not there until you complete it & submit it

Mary asks…

Who should claim the money on my FAFSA form?

My father and I share a savings account. On my FAFSA it asks seperately for each of our total checking & savings accounts. Who should put the money as theirs on the form?

Michelle answers:

What they’re going for is to see if you have a ton of cash in savings. You can list your father as the owner of the account. Both of your income have an impact on the FAFSA, so it doesn’t make a ton of difference.
Now once you fill out the FAFSA, look to see what your EFC is. That stands for Estimated Family Contribution. This is the amount that the Pell grant will not cover. If it is zero, then you have a full Pell grant.
If your EFC is anything but zero, be sure and visit the financial aid department of the college you’re going to. There are times that they can make a “professional judgement” (be sure and use those specific words) and help you further.
One last thing: if you’re going to attend a state school, most of the time tuition costs can be offset by a part-time job. If at all possible, get out of school debt free!
Good luck!

Richard asks…

How much money does FAFSA usually give to college students?

I’m getting ready to apply for FAFSA for San Francisco State for next fall. This is my first time doing so and I’m wondering about how much money FAFSA usually gives to each student.

Michelle answers:

FAFSA / the government and your educational institution determine, based upon a formula used to interpret your ability to pay, from your tax returns / parents tax returns, investments, and other assets, how much $ you qualify for in government sponsored grants, and / or loans.

No one here can even give you a close idea as to how much you will ‘get’ – because it depends on your program cost, and the information I listed above re: your income and assets.

If you went to high school and graduated from a ‘distinguished’ program (AP classes and sl more credits then is required in general), you can qualify for an ACG (academic competitiveness grant). These usually are a few hundred dollars to perhaps a thousand per year (NOT semester).

A federal pell grant is available, and usually granted to those who come from low income households, where – once you complete your fafsa, will have a very low or 0 efc, or “expected family contribution.” I believe PELL grants have been increased to a little over $5k, distributed at several times throughout the year to your institution’s financial aid office. You may qualify for a full PELL, or only a partial, but hey, free money is free money, and less you have to take out in loans! Also remember, whatever EFC the government gives you, doesn’t mean you’ll end up coming out of pocket for that much $$, but it IS a pretty good indicator of what you may have to pay on your own. If you will have to – just make sure you make timely payments to your institution by the due date, otherwise they’ll refuse admission to your next semester’s classes until it’s paid. Communication with them is critical!

GSL’s – or guaranteed student loans, are federally sponsored, and come as Stafford Loans, subsidized and unsubsidized. Subsidized are those loans where the government will pay the interest while you are in school, unsubsidized are those which start accruing interest the minute you take them out. You can either make the interest payments, or they’ll tack them on to the back of your loan.

As a first year undergraduate, if they haven’t changed this amount, you should qualify for up to – geez, i forget – sorry :(.

Most institutions also have scholarship funds, merit and need based, and they usually have endowments from which they can give loads of money – spread across many students. Endowments are big pots of $$ that people have given to the institution either as an alumni, or just to be good people and have the ability to write off some of their cash.

To get a realistic idea as to how much you will be awarded, you should check out the website http://www.fafsa.ed.gov for detailed information on how much in loan funding you can qualify for – for each ‘year’ of college (freshman, sophmore, etc), and you can also check out http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/ – to get a better idea of how you will fare initially.

The fafsa.ed.gov website contains a wealth of information, and if you have trouble finding it all, call 1-800-4-fed-aid, 24/7. Their agents are very understanding and very capable of explaining anything to you, as they’re trained that way because they know the information they share has to be ACCURATE.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!

Your Questions About Fox News

George asks…

The Jena 6 was the big story yesterday and all the media was covering it except for Fox News. Why?

I was watch Fox News all day and they only talked about once. Everyone should have an opinoin about the Jena 6 no matter what race you are, but they didn’t. Why?

Michelle answers:

Like we would know. Why dont you ask FOX

Mandy asks…

Does the Talking Heads of Fox News remind you of used car salesman?

Can’t c0nservatives see how Fox News Stories are designed to just twist your thinking to believe something that is not true? Just like a used car salesman would do?

Michelle answers:

At least the used car salesman at Fox convince me they know what they are talking about. They can also convince me to buy the car. Can’t say the same about the other News stations.

Lizzie asks…

Since Democrats claim everything Fox News says is a lie, does it mean Michael Jackson is still alive?

I first heard of Michael Jacksons death on Fox News, in fact Fox was the first of the big three TV news networks to report on his death. Democrats/Liberals/Obamabots often say that EVERYTHING on Fox News is a outright lie-so does this mean that Michael Jackson is still alive and the WTC is still standing in New York City?

Michelle answers:

Don’t listen to democrats their going to attack fox new just for being jealous of them. I watch fox new and nothing from that is a lie. Fox is fair and balanced.

Maria asks…

On a scale of 1 to 10, how pathetic is FOX News’ attempt to convince the Occupy Wall Street protesters that?

they should stop worrying about Wall Street and focus their discontent on one person – George Soros?

Personally, I’ve never seen a more blatantly pathetic example of an organization trying to deflect concern over a political issue, and if it weren’t so difficult to decide which particular news story is best to describe the depths of shameless Conservatwit bullshit that comes from FOX News I’d have something to compare this to.

Michelle answers:

If ten is the most pathetic, then 15. But when is Fox News ever not at least a bit pathetic? It’s hard to believe anyone actually respects those morons.

Your Questions About Fedex

Richard asks…

FedEx shows my package was delivered and has signature proof, but not to my address. What should I do?

I purchased a book off Amazon. The seller shipped the book with my correct address on it. Online, fedex is showing the package was delivered a week ago and shows signature proof by someone I don’t know. I’m afraid they won’t do anything about it. Should I file a claim with amazon or what’s the best thing to do in this situation since I know it’s not the seller’s fault?

Michelle answers:

Delivery to wrong address sometimes happens. Call FedEx and explain them your situation. They either should go to that address and pick up your parcel or cover all your expenses, and you have to re-order it. Provide a tracking or other reference number when you call.

John asks…

How do you return a FedEx Express envelope?

I want to return this package I purchased and get my refund but I do not know how to send it back. It was delivered via FedEx Express, standard overnight. How do I send it back to where it came from?

Michelle answers:

You should contact the person who shipped it to you and ask how they want you to return it to them. And ask about their refund policy. Fedex will refund, if a refund is due, to the person who actually paid them in the first place, and that doesn’t sound like you. Besides if they delivered the package on time then no refund from Fedex is owed. This is strictly between you and the shipper call them.

Michael asks…

How do I scheduling pickup prepaid lable fedex on the phone with no account number?

I received replacement headphones from apple requiring me to return the beat up ones. How would I schedule a pickup on the phone with the prepaid lable with no account number??? I KNOW I CAN BRING IT TO FEDEX BUT FEDEX IS 20 miles FROM WHERE I LIVE!!!!!!! So don’t say bring it to fedex !!!!!!!

Michelle answers:

Call the 800-GoFedex number, you may have to talk to a person. You can schedule for a Mon. Pickup. You could also drop it in a Fedex drop box, you should find a listing on the Fedex website, there’s often a box outside main post offices.

William asks…

How old do you need to be to work at fedex?

Im lookin for all the specs on fedex. Averages hours a week, minimal age of employment, hourly pay, ect. Also i dont want any guesses. If u dont know for sure then dont act like u do.

Michelle answers:

Easy answer? It depends on where you live, what job, and which FedEx. Are you asking about FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Office (Kinkos), FedEx Freight, Fedex Custom Critical, etc… Each operating company is a separate company and has different jobs, pay, and benefits. At FedEx Express, the FedEx pay structure is adjusted for local conditions. The minimum age for a driving position is 21. The minimum age for jobs like package handler is 18. The vast majority of people start as part-time employees. Driving or package handling. Again, depending on location, it usually isn’t too hard to move up to full time. As a part-time employee you are guaranteed 17.5 hrs a week. (Most locations you’ll get more, and there are usually extra shifts available) Also, as a part-time employee they can work around things like college or other jobs by written policy, not randomly. Average starting pay for a handler will be 10.50-12.50. Driver; 12.50-14.50. However, after a short period (can’t recall at the moment, 60 or 90 days), you get health/dental/vision/401k/profit sharing/tuition reimbursement/paid vacation/sick days/personal days/life insurance/and I believe pension (pension might be full-time only, not positive). While not every FedEx location is perfect, I really liked working at FedEx Express while I was there.

Our inaugural season was more successful than even we had hoped. We began the season as most new clubs do — playing short and praying for new arrivals — but by the end of the season, we had over 30 players registered and, although victory eluded us, we ended the season well pleased with both the experience and our progress.

Personal highlights included the selection of Brianna Hennessy to the Canadian Under-19 Women’s Team. Brianna joins our club captain, Sheila Schindel, who is listed with the National Under-23 squad.

Does anyone know of any studies, explaining the ratio of girls to boys who watch American Idol?

I’ve been curious about this for a while o: I feel like winning American Idol would be a lot harder for a girl these days provided the majority of viewers probably being girls, so based on that I believe that most of the votes would go towards a talented and attractive young man?

TV critics have discussed what you’ve noticed that the last 5 winners of the FOX Reality Competition were scuffy white young (aged 20 – 27 or so) men who play guitars and write their own “hits”. Such daily or weekly writing TV Critics at NY TIMES dot-com and WASHINGTON POST dot-com have covered this aspect of the entrenched leading TV series.

There is also an undercurrent of “hate-regard” for the trends on the show at the subversive website

VOTEFORTHEWORST dot-com — it contains links to other discussion locations on the worldwide web as far as reality singing / talent competitions.

I did not hear such griping about white males being over-favored on the NBC series “The Voice” — former Mouseketeer (as were Justin TImberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera) Tony Lucca who is an older white guitar performing male singer DID NOT Win nor did the white male Opera Singer. I also believe that the voting base for the NBC series was more like the make-up of America itself and less over-representing pre-teen and tween girls who vote and over-vote.

It was perhaps anomalous last year when the 17-year-old male won out with a big percentage of actual record buyers — Scotty McCreery has a debut album that went platinum while many in the last 5 seasons were really not good singers as far as selling their music and packing audiences in for concerts. There are also review articles at music media / periodicals (like ROLLINGSTONE and BILLBOARD) that discuss how the voters are a predictable sort of young female TV viewers

EDIT: (9:15 a.m. Friday EASTERN) — this review of the Wedn.May 23 Finale focuses on “Middle-Aged women and Tween Girls” as biggest voters:

Charles asks…

How do you submit tv show ideas to networks?

I have no idea where to start, but have a few ideas…

Michelle answers:

Sorry but you can’t- if you check the FAQ at most of the networks they will tell you NOT to bother sending them scripts/ideas as they just
Throw them Away without Reading them

Movie/TV writers have Agents and usually have to belong to the Writer’s union ( writer’s guild)

ABC
“What are ABC’s guidelines for unsolicited submissions of story ideas or concepts?

Unfortunately, ABC and The Walt Disney Company’s long-established policy does not allow the network to accept for review or consideration any ideas, suggestions, or creative materials not solicited by us or our subsidiaries. Our intention is to avoid misunderstandings when projects are created internally which might be similar to submissions made to us from outside the company.

“5. I have written a script for my favorite FOX show. Where can I send it?

ANSWER:

Keep on writing…..the more you write the better you will get !!

But….
Do not send in ideas or scripts to FOX or to the show unless it is through an accredited agent. ALL unsolicited ideas and scripts are left unopened and are THROWN AWAY. This is for YOUR protection.

You can get a list of agents who are willing to look at new writers from the Writers Guild of America West (located in LA). ”
