Why are you FedEx’ing it? It has to be postmarked by Wednesday. Your best bet is to send it to the PO Box with a Return Receipt Request. Or better yet, why not efile. 🙂

How long does FedEx standard overnight delivery take?

I put in the order on thursday and i want it by saturday. I’m pretty sure it should be shipped by later on today which is friday so will it be here by saturday morning/afternoon. Also does fedex deliver on saturday? Where the package is coming from is new jersey and i live in new york so it shouldn’t take that long considering i live not too far.

What happens If fedex delivers 3 times and you miss them all and can’t pick it up?

Fedex came monday morning and I was at work, then they came again yesterday morning and then again around 5, but I was at work then school. It says they will only deliver up to 3 times and then I have to pick it up within two business days, but the place is far from my house. Is there anything I can do to have them deliver it again?

No you have to pick up. If you don’t pick it up, the package will be returned to sender.

If FedEx is sent to my house to pick up packages, are they notified of how many packages they are to receive?

My sisters online school has FedEx scheduled to come to my house to return my sisters computer, printer, and monitor. However, one of the labels expires before the pick up date. Would it be ok to drop off one of the packages at a FedEx location before the scheduled pick up date?

The FedEx driver will have a shipping label for each box, so yes, they’ll know how many to expect.

If the label (or labels) will expire, call the school and ask them to cancel the original labels and re-order new ones. It won’t cost the school anything extra to do that.

You can call 800-GO FEDEX to find out about dropping off the packages before the labels expire.

What’s wrong with Obama’s aides criticizing a so-called news channel? Isn’t that their constitutional right?

Please tell me if he tries to shut down Fox News. Please don’t go pre-emptive on me, because we know Cons don’t exactly have a lot of luck with those types of predictions.

How has Fox news been able to get such good ratings?

The channel is one of the most biased channels on TV, fair and balanced my ass. How has this awful channel been able to do so well in the ratings, I have watched CNN, MSNBC, and FOX NEWS. Fox news just seems to be more in your face, fast paced news, more so than CNN or MSNBC, could that be why? Those this mean liberals usually get their news from the internet more than tv, and conservatives get their news mainly from FOX NEWS, that is the only reason that that channel could be so popular.

They have been the only station to expose the thieves, thugs, commies, perverts, anti and unAmerican people and ideas of the people that obama has surrounded himself with. There has not been one single of his henchmen that have expressed any PATRIOTIC ideas or programs, only new and bigger ideas of how to push corruption, deception, and plundering of America’s treasury. He is obviously a Communist based on Marxism. A total failure in every country that has tried it. It fails because it based on stealing from the workers and then giving to the nonworkers. It is false and misleading to call him a Socialist. The ‘redistribution of wealth’ that he calls for is the basis of Communism and is nothing but a euphemism for stealing the workers blind. THis country never became ‘great’ by stealing money from the people and giving handouts to the lazy. Fox News is the ONLY TV that has presented all the hidden nastiness of Obama. They do try to present the good side of the news also but there is NO good side to Obama and his fellow travelers ideology.

How come Fox News does not simply read the news to the audience?

I remember when the news was read to us with objectivity and impartiality. We got the facts and very little personal opinion.
Whenever I watch Fox News however, as opposed to simply delivering the news, they introduce some ‘guest’ with a biased opinion who is going to explain everything by way of subjective opinion before the viewer has been made aware of the facts.
Why does the most ‘trusted’ name in news steer from reporting and instead into political debate?

Your Questions About Fafsa

How does FAFSA figure the financial aid you should receive?

I just completed my FAFSA. I’ve lived on my own for two years but I still need my parents tax information, which I think is ridiculous. Does anybody know how they figure what you are able to receive in financial aid?
Well, I’ve already done all this. I’ve done my parents tax information, and mine. I just don’t understand how they assume that if you’re under 25, you still need your parents tax information.

Michelle answers:

The dependency requirements were decided on by Congress when they originally built the financial aid model. They believe that parents have a responsibility toward helping their children attain their first degree. That is why it is ridiculous. Ridiculous to think that your parents should help! I agree it does hurt a small faction of students though where the parents are ridiculous and refuse to cooperate with the FAFSA information.

Anyhow. The FAFSA collects information about your family size, number of people attending college, income earned and investment values and spits out a number called the EFC (Estimated Family Contribution). This is the number that decides whether you are Pell grant eligible, and is used by the Aid office to determine your overall need and awards. I’m not going to get into the formula… It makes my head hurt and its been a long week.

Give your Aid office a week after you have filed your FAFSA then talk to them about when you can expect an awards letter. If you have already been accepted, or deposited with admissions, the award letter should come pretty soon after they have a chance to process it.

How can the FAFSA form for the 2010-2011 school year have a priority deadline of February 1st?

Some parents don’t even get their W2 forms until after February 1st, so they don’t know what their gross income is, let alone their adjusted gross income. If somebody that is filling out the FAFSA 2010-2011 school year form or somebody else who knows can help me clear this up, that would be great. Thank you.

When filling it out choose “WILL FILE” then enter the information from 2008, if it’s about the same. Later you can update it with “HAS FILED” and the correct information. 🙂

Can a son receive the FAFSA if his father is currently receiving the FAFSA?

My boyfriend is applying for the FAFSA and he’s an independent under 24 with divorced parents. He’s unsure whether to report his father’s earnings or his mother’s. His father (who has four other dependents and lived off of food stamps in the last 5 years) was approved for the FAFSA and is currently using it. His mother made 90k last year but declared bankruptcy a week ago. My question is, would it hurt him to report his father who is on the FAFSA more than his mother?

If your boyfriend is still a dependent he will need to provide the information of the parent who provided the most support to him during the past year (provided that he doesn’t live with either of them). This could be a parent who bought him any clothes or food, etc. If neither parent contributed anything to him, then he is supposed to use the information of the parent who makes the most money (this is all on the fafsa website in the FAQs section).

Yes, a son and father can both receive fafsa at the same time. In addition, your boyfriend would probably get more money reporting his father’s income, as bankruptcy makes no difference… It’s purely income. He will also have to report his income. If he’s asked for verification, he’ll have to prove that he was correct in choosing the parent that he did — by proof of support. Good luck to you.

Why does the Department of Education FAFSA laws dictate a family’s choice to raise independent children?

FAFSA app has 7 criterions one must meet in order to claim independent status. Most students parents raise them to be independent to handle their own college costs so the parent(s) can save for their retirement. It is so easy for the government to say its the parent’s responsibility to pay their child’s education; but the schools & the govt have a business relationship with each other in order to stick parents with even more debt for the sake of educating their children. As a parent, I taught my child to be financially responsible and independent because I have to also save for my retirement. At 18 years old, a child can apply for credit, rent apartments and apply for car loans. Why can’t the same child apply for school loans under FAFSA? Esp. under the circumstances the parent(s)saving for their retirement& not be dependent on their kids in their elder years. The DOE is such a joke because it appears to give grants to schools to help students only to issue $$$ loans and a $50 grant!

Actually, it’s not the Department of Education. Congress determines what calculations are used for an EFC and whether a student is Independent or Dependent. It’s part of the Higher Education Act of 1965. It is subject to “reauthorization” where Congress has to review the Act. Schools use the EFC (Expected Family Contribution) in conjunction with the school’s COA (Cost of Attendance) to determine what types of aid a student is eligible for. So it’s not the DOE per se that determines what financial aid a student will receive.

I know it’s very frustrating! All I can suggest is to contact your congressional representatives and express your concerns to them regarding the FAFSA. Good luck!

Do you have tracking? Fedex usually starts at 9pm but it depends where you are on their route. You will get it by 7 pm though, don’t worry.

How long does FedEx take to deliever once packes is on the truck?

I’m waiting on a package to get here via FedEx. On the site it says it will be delievered today no later than 7pm. The FedEx location is only 30 minutes away. When do you think i’ll get the pakage?

My Fedex location is probably 10-15 minutes away. My tracking number tells me that they’re out on delivery at 7 AM in the morning and on average, I receive these packages by 3:30 – 5:00 PM.

I recently bought a computer and it is being shipped to me in Florida via FedEx. It says my anticipated ship date was Feb 10, 2010, and then it also says that the shipment information was sent to Fedex on the 10th of February. But that’s all its said for the past 2 days. Does FedEx just not update their systems often, because I know UPS has tracking updates everyday.

I ordered a package and it might come in at around 6-7 to a FedEx facility depending on traffic and whatnot. I believe it could still be delivered but I have no clue. Is it possible to be picked up from a nearby distribution center and then dropped off?

What is your question? Fed-X picks up around 7:30AM and start making their deliveries door to door. If they get done early they may make a second pick up that day, but this is unlikely. If you want to pick the item up at their center you need to order the shipping that way up front or it will be on a truck. Unless they can not deliver the item because no one is home; in this case they will leave you a message telling you were you can pick the package up at.

FIREFOX…?

I have asked several questions, and many of the replies suggest that I consider FIREFOX. I’m not sure what it is – probably a browser. Is it similar to Netscape and Internet Explorer? What are its good features and its bad features?

Michelle answers:

Firefox IS a browser, published by Mozilla, that has been competing with Internet Explorer for the past couple years. It’s actually a pretty cool browser that has turned out to nab more of the market than I think most people anticipated.

Good features:
Great pop-up and spyware protection. This is also partly due to the fact that the vast majority of viruses and spyware are written FOR Explorer, which most people are running.
Probably the best feature of Firefox is tabbed browsing, which opens up multiple windows within a single window so that your taskbar doesn’t get crowded with all of the webpages you’re navigating between.
Also, from their website…I think this is pretty cool: “Firefox 1.5 delivers easier navigation for everyone, including those who are visually or motor-impaired. Firefox is the first browser to support DHTML accessibility, which, when enabled by Web authors, allows rich Web applications to be read aloud.”

Bad features:
The only one so far is that since most webpages are meant to be viewed with Explorer, I had limited accessibility to some web applications. For example, when Yahoo! Introduced PhotoMail, I wasn’t able to download the upgraded e-mail application because the service was built for certain versions of Explorer only. But as Firefox gets more popular (they just released an upgrade) I expect this to happen less.

So the people recommending this browser were absolutely correct! I have used it for almost a year now and love it.

Firefox wont start but when I open a link that opens firefox, It works fine. What do I do?

Whenever I open firefox, it instantly crashes. I’ve tried opening it in safe mode and still it doesn’t work. I even tried changing my homepage. When my friends give me a link in my msn messenger, it opens up firefox and it works fine, I’m able to browse the internet normally. What do I do? I already uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Try installing a slightly older version. I have already chosen 3.0.4 from the list which is the version directly before 3.0.5 (the current version). You can choose any version from the list, but I would recommend that you do not go any lower than version 2.0.

How long after Forever 21 orientation does one have to wait for the work schedule?

I recently had an orientation with Forever 21 last monday. They said it will take about 3 or 5 days or at most a week to do the background check and then schedule. It been more than a week. I called one and they said they haven’t get the schedule yet. So should I call again? Is this the norm?

It depends on your states minimum wage laws. In Michigan, the associates get paid $7.40 and the assistant managers get $1 more. So if you lived in Michigan you would be getting paid around $8.40ish to start.

You’re right. That store IS unorganized. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend shopping there at ALL. They have a no-returns policy and their clothes are CHEAP – I’ve bought clothing from them – it doesn’t last long without something ripping or breaking off. And the sales people are NOT sympathetic to customers with defective merchandise. I’m sure that everyone who has shopped there has bought at least ONE defective item. Their store is terrible. H&M has better quality with the same styles – even better.
