Your Questions About Fox News

Sharon asks…

Murder for money? Can FOX news possibly stoop any lower?

Rupert Murdoch, right-wing extremist and owner of FOX news AND Regan Publishing, forked over 3.5 Million dollars to murderer oj simpson to describe his crime, is this the most despicable abuse of media in history!?
It is stunning to see you right wingers actually defending this!
get YOUR facts straight!! murdoch is the publisher, and murdoch is using his fox news channel to promote it!!

Michelle answers:

FOX News (Faux News) is the pioneer of trash journalism, and I doubt that they have yet explored the blackness of their depravity. But who I really feel sorry for are the Right Wingers, because FOX does not really care about supporting their agenda. They discovered a market for spewing their jibberish among the Social Conservative base, and are exploiting them by saying just what they want to hear, true or not. All FOX cares about is selling their product. Its not news, its not journalism. FOX is the National Inquirer of the television market. Perhaps some day the Republicans will understand this.

Sandra asks…

Fox news poll, for fun?

1. YES or NO, do you believe that Fox news is a reliable news source?

2. How frequently do you watch Fox news? Or how many hours total do you think you have tuned in before?

3. Do you feel that your opinion is based on actually watching programs on fox or based on word of mouth from other news outlets or videos you find on youtube?
I’m really glad to see that most of you are level headed about it!

Michelle answers:

Fox News is a marketing device. Their intent is not to be fair and balanced, nor to inform people. The intent is to put eyeballs on the tube so they can sell more advertising. Same with CNN, MSNBC, NBC, etc.
I’m kind of a news junkie, so I’ve watched a LOT of Fox news. I usually catch Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly. But I don’t think they are a reliable news source. They ARE entertaining.

George asks…

America and FOX News?

Do any Americans agree that FOX News is just the voice of the Bush adminstration…….Bill O`Riley for example where most of his guests he has on his show agree with him….whats the point in that…..and if anyone puts down Bush he goes mad…and the ones that dont agree cant get a word in most of the time….just one example of many……..(FOX News…Fair and Balanced…The network America trusts…PERIOD)…What a joke…PS…I am from England so if you want to have a go at the BBC feel free because they`re just as bad only the BBC is pro Arab/Muslim.

Michelle answers:

FOX News, and the whole FOX broadcasting network, is notoriously right-wing. Even their own reporters have been known to admit that they’re biased live on television, and not appologise for it, even though a news reporter is meant to be unbiased at all times. The BBC are a bit of a yoyo when it comes to which side of the fence they sit on. They try to appease as many groups as possible while at the same time attempting to maintain the general moral high ground. This means that they’re usually very selective about what they do and don’t allow to be broadcast/said.

John asks…

What is wrong with Fox news?

i keep hearing bad stuff about fox news but i dont know what or why? also, where can i find a reliable unbiased news source?

Michelle answers:

I love Fox news…what better show to watch then Hannity and Colmes…you get to hear both sides opinions and I also like Fox news because it always has experts also with opposite opinions. Most people dont like it because it is a more conservative news channel. People dont like O reilly because he tells it how it is without holding back. I like that about him but you are never going to find an unbiased news source…they are in it for ratings and to make $. Kind of like a defense attorney…doesnt care if person is guilty of murder just wants his money.

Your Questions About Firefox

Lizzie asks…

Latest version of Firefox?

What is the most latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

Example: Firefox 3.0.4

Michelle answers:

FireFox 3.0.4: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Hope that helps.

Jenny asks…

Firefox-portable?

Hoe can I make my Firefox portable?
(With all my extensions themes history cookies etc…)
In a disk-on-key

Michelle answers:

Mozilla Firefox®, Portable Edition is the popular Mozilla Firefox web browser bundled with a PortableApps.com Launcher as a portable app, so you can take your bookmarks, extensions and saved passwords with you.

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition

Robert asks…

difference between firefox and internet explorer browser?

what is the differnece betweent Internet explorer and Firefox?

Michelle answers:

Firefox is safer with better script blocking. Firefox does not recognise the silly Microsoft ActiveX, so it is totally resistant to those security problems. Use Firefox for browsing and searching to keep your computer safe.

Internet Explorer seems to be slightly faster. But use it only on known websites, and of course, to download Windows Updates and such.

Good luck.

Thomas asks…

FireFox V.S. Internet Explorer.?

Who would win in a fight?
LOL!

I vote FireFox!

Michelle answers:

FireFox would win in the long run. It is capable of so much more than IE is. FireFox is an Open Source program where anyone can use it and they can still add things on to it, where as IE is unable to do this. Also IE are more likely to attacks than is FireFox

Your Questions About Fedex

Nancy asks…

At local fedex facility?

Hey guys, my item was schedueled to arrive yesterday, but hasn’t. My tracking info is updated and says it is at the local fedex facility, and it is saturday.

Will they deliver my product today?
Got Fedex 1-3 day delivery

Thanks

Michelle answers:

Fedex doesn’t normally deliver on Sat without an extra charge, you might be able to go to the fedex station and pick it up today, try calling ’em and see. Odds are you won’t be able to tho, as your package would be 1 of thousands sitting unorganized at the station, and they don’t really have the human resources to go through that kind of pile on a Sat.

Betty asks…

Did FedEx lose my package?

Ok, so I ordered a Dell XPS 15 laptop which cost $1200 and is needed urgently. However, when it “shipped” according to Dell around the 9th and Fedex said “/Shipment information sent to FedEx” and that they were waiting for the package. Dell insists that the package is in FedEx‘s hands. THE NINTH WAS ALMOST A WHOLE F***ING WEEK AGO and there is still no news from FedEx. WHAT IS GOING ON?
I live in the DC area and we had some light snow. The roads are clear though

Michelle answers:

When a company plans to ship something to a customer, they review the order within a day and print out the airbill (the thing on it with a tracking number, your name and address). Then, they pack up your shipment and they stick the airbill on the outside of the box. At this time, it has a status of ‘shipped’ however it really hasn’t shipped yet.

The code of Shipment information sent to FedEx means they printed out the airbill however FedEX has NOT picked up the package yet and the laptop is still with Dell’s shipping department.

If Dell hasn’t given your package to FedEx in the next few days, I would send Dell an email with the FedEx tracking info.

Charles asks…

Old Navy shipping question? (Fedex)?

I ordered an amount over $50 on Oldnavy.com so I received free shipping. I entered my P.O box for the address, but now that the order status is shipped I see they’re shipping it with Fedex!
I looked at the fine print on free shipping over $50, and it says yes you can ship to P.O boxes. I didn’t think Fedex shipped to P.O boxes though. Should I be worried? Is this normal?

Michelle answers:

Fedex can ship with the post office. Fedex moves the package across the country on large pallets. It is delivered to the local post office for final delivery. I have had shipments from Amazon done that way many times with their free shipping.

FedEx has millions of things to deliver and the way things changed today, you might not see your package in the nex 2 to 3 weeks. Michelle answers:

I am having the same problem. In the past, I have deactivated my account many times and a reactivation email was sent soon afterwards and I was able to go back to my old account. Now, I am not sure whats happening. If anyone could help, please let us know!! There does seem to be a Facebook bug or something since so many people are having the same issue. When someone gets it resloved, PLEASE post it on here and tell us what you did..thanks sooo much!!

Nancy asks…

facebook login details?

i want to know facebook details

Michelle answers:

What facebook details are you looking for exactly? I doubt anyone will give you their login details.

You will need to go and set up an account yourself if you are looking to use it.

Lisa asks…

Is it the real Facebook Login Page?

I have noticed recently that when I am on a different web page, and someone has a link to facebook, to see a fan page, ect. that sometimes, not always, it will take me to what looks like the correct facebook login page, but the page doesn’t remember my prior email address, like the regular page, when I type in facebook.com in the address bar. Is this hackers trying to get password information, or just coincidence. It’s just concerning that the login page would only remember my email sometimes, since it seems any link that you need to sign in to have access to would take you to the original login page.

Michelle answers:

You are right to be cautious.
There are plenty of scammers out there who would love to have your log-in details.
However, if the URL of the login page in your browser begins with http://www.facebook.com/ then you should be fine.

Charles asks…

Facebook Login Problems?

My son went to login to facebook this morning and it wouldn’t let him. We tried to reset the password, but then it told us the email address was invalid. I’ve tried looking in help section of facebook, but couldn’t find anything. I also tried contacting them, but of course, no response. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Michelle answers:

You should just open a new Facebook account. Or better yet, Twitter or MySpace.

Your Questions About Fafsa

Donald asks…

What exactly is a FAFSA?

What exactly is a FAFSA? What does it mean? I know it has something to do with financial aid, but I don’t know the details…

Michelle answers:

FAFSA stands for “Free Application for Federal Student Aid.” It’s the online form you fill out at fafsa.ed.gov to start the financial aid process.

A lot of people use the term FAFSA to mean federal aid itself. That’s not correct, but it might be why you’re confused. 🙂

Mary asks…

Can I get money from fafsa?

I am a full time college student and I am unemployed right now. School as everyone knows can be expensive. I live with my mother who is a teacher. Could I get money from fafsa or some other grant money? I go to a community college and live in California. Thank you for your help!!!

Michelle answers:

FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You definitely should complete the FAFSA as that’s the only way you can get any federal student aid. Depending on your financial situation, you might get a Pell Grant and you can definitely get federal student loans (which are always better than private loans).

You should complete the application here: https://fafsa.ed.gov/

Mandy asks…

HELP! Urgent – Fafsa.com?

So, I entered all my info. into fafsa.com. Then, I got to the page where it wanted you to pay and realized it was a scam, so I didn’t pay. Am I safe?

Michelle answers:

Yes your safe.. Fafsa.com is a legitimate website which files your fafsa application for you. They charge you since its a private company which offers additional services and assistance which would otherwise not be available if you were just filing through fafsa.gov (Financial aids official site)
If you dont want to pay just go file your application at fafsa.gov, but dont worry about the private info you entered at .com, cause its safe

Joseph asks…

Fake FAFSA website? Help please?

I have been filling out FAFSA, and all of my tax information has been entered in, www.fafsa.com. People are saying that is not the real website, which is fafsa.ed.gov. They are now asking me for a credit card payment and i am worried I have entered information that cannot be retrieved. <IMG SRC=http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g165/trippin_ink/FAFSA.jpg?t=1250308323> Here is a picture of the page I am at charging me money

Michelle answers:

It’s all going to be ok.

I was fooled too earlier this year by fafsa.com. I was very freaked out when it happened, but luckily I called the REAL fafsa people and the employee said the FAFSA.com people will only take my $79.99, not my identity.

Here’s my yahoo question about it several months ago:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtRPKeX8KCbb9uxRKd8usXojzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20090428194224AA78aSv

I came across the site on accident, looking for the real fafsa website (like many others do). After reading the website, I understood that they were FAFSA preparers. A few hours later, it came to me that they could be a scam organization that could steal my identity. Luckily, they are a legitimate company like I first thought (so I rate them as a semi-scam, tricking people to get to their website and charging $79.99). I still think that their practices are shady, but I think they are in the business of getting a quick $80 out of you, not identity theft.

So why did I use FAFSA.com when I realized they were a FAFSA preparer? I didn’t realize how easy it was to get live telephone support from the free fafsa website. I thought the most help would be an FAQ page. I was happy to have a number that I could call 24/7 with my FAFSA questions. I was wrong – and it cost me $79.99.

And, to the FAFSA.com’s credit, the “Student Aid Adviser” they set me up with on the phone gave me 100% correct information for my questions (I called the people at fafsa.ed.gov after I realized my mistake with FAFSA.com to ask the same questions, and the info I was given by the fafsa.com person was correct). The only thing – The phone number listed on the fafsa.ed.gov website gave me the same helpful and patient people – for free.

This is the deal: They do submit your FAFSA for you and they do not steal your personal info. The only scam is having the web address fool people into thinking it is the real fafsa site.

Here is the yahoo answers link of a question where 2 reputable top contributors in this section (Suba and NotAnyoneYouKnow) discuss FAFSA.com. It really put my mind at ease to see them discuss it.

Also, you can write “FAFSA.com” in the yahoo answers search box and see many answers that can help put your mind at ease.

I did call FAFSA.com and asked that they remove my information from their database (I had set up the account over the phone with my Social Security Number and my birthdate. I didn’t activate my online account, so I didn’t have anything to delete manually). The employee said he would email their technical department and have the data “scrubbed” as he called it. Hopefully he did.

Don’t worry too much about it. Luckily you realized before you were taken for $79.99 like I was (they never charged me for more money, either – No weird charges on my account).

Your Questions About Food Network

William asks…

People who watch food network cake challenge?

So you now how in mystery client challenges the have to make a cake for someone? Well how do I get them to have a challenge for my birthday?

Michelle answers:

Hi Beignets!

That’s a classy name you’re using, and you’re making me hungry!

Those cake challenges are fun to watch, aren’t they? I suppose if you’re serious about being a guest on one of the Food Network shows, the first thing you’d want to do is to write them a letter. Address it to: Food Network Cake Challenge, Food Network, 75 Ninth Ave., New York, NY 10001. Their main telephone number is 212-398-8836. In your (typed) letter, tell them something about yourself, especially anything interesting or outstanding about yourself. Tell them why you want to be on the show, and tell them when your birthday is. They have a certain time of year when they tape those shows, so it probably wouldn’t be on your birthday. If you have a special reason for wanting to be on the show, such as your Sweet Sixteen birthday, tell them that, too. (Do you have a special interest in baking? In seeing how a television show is filmed?) I think, if I were you, I would mention briefly why you like the show. It would probably make them feel good and might help you. This sounds like a lot, but keep your letter down to one page because they get a lot of mail, and if they can’t read your letter pretty fast, they’ll throw it out. Also, since they tape in various locations, you could ask where they will be taping for the following year. Include a picture so they can see what you look like. Just as a suggestion, I’d be sure your spelling and grammar were checked and that you had no mistakes because this will be their first impression of you.

Save a copy of your letter because I have another idea. Let’s say that after six weeks, you still haven’t heard back from the Food Network, or let’s say their answer is no. You might try this:

Write to Kerry Vincent, the head judge on the challenges. First, check out her website at: http://www.oklahomasugarartists.com/kerr… You can contact her at this address:

Kerry Vincent, OSSAS Director
10530 S. Urbana Ave.
Tulsa, OK 74137

Phone: 918-299-7125
Fax: 918-745-0879
E-mail kvsugarart@aol.com.

Send her the same letter you sent to the Food Network, except change the wording so it’s to her. Tell her the same things you told the Food Network, and ask her whether she knows how you might be a guest on a show. Even though I’ve included her email for you, I don’t think I’d email her becausse that address is for her Oklahoma Sugar Art things. She’d be more impressed, I think, by a letter.

I thought of one other possibility, but you’ll have to do this on your own because I don’t have the information. You know how they show the name of the production company after the shows? You could watch one of the cake challenges, get the name of the production company that films the shows, and write to them. I think Google would probably list their name and address if you get the name. Then, you could write to them, too. However, if it’s entirely a Food Network production, then you’ve already written to them.

I think that about does it for my ideas. That would be so exciting if you actually pulled it off and got to appear on one of their shows! Unless they get a ton of requests, I’d think they’d be glad to learn of your interest.

I’ll be thinking about you! Good luck!

Daniel asks…

Any watch Food Network?

I watched it the other day and it was Paula Dean and she was cooking these sweet potatoes were you mash up the sweet potatoes then you mix them with something then you round them and stick a marsh mellow in them. but i want to know if any one has the actual recipe for it if you do please may i have it?!

Michelle answers:

… I think we ALL watch Food Network. It’s the “safe” channel you can show to any of your guests and have them say, “Oh! Food Network! Great channel…”

If you want the recipe, go to FoodNetwork.com for it.

I think THAT’S the recipe you’re looking for. They put ALL their recipes online.

Maria asks…

food network help!!!?

does any one know how u get on ace of cakes or food network challenge??? do u know how much it costs??

Michelle answers:

To be in the audience or a contestant?

Ace of Cakes is more like reality show – they don’t have an audience or contestants – so I don’t know what you mean for that show. The non-employees you see are part of the celebrations they are making cakes for – and the people making those cakes are real employees of CCC.

But Food Network Challenge is a contest and you can check this page on Food Network to see what opening, if any, they have coming up: http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/be-on-food-network/index.html However I’m pretty sure that FNC is all by invitation.

As for audience members – I see in the local papers when they are looking for people to show up for an audience. If you are in a good sized town – you might see if there are any websites or message boards that cover the local food scene – and start reading them as FN often contacts them in order to get audience or restaurant recommendations when they are filming in the area.

Helen asks…

Who’s watching The Next Food Network Star?

Who do you want to win and why?
No, there are legit stars from that show. Guy Fieri is one, and Aarti Sequeira seems pretty popular.

Michelle answers:

I am a huge food network fan. This season on Next Food Network Star is interesting so far. I would have to say that my favorite so far Orchid. She has a great personality and always has a huge smile on her face. I could picture myself watching her show because she seems very down-to-earth and likable. I would say that in order for her to win, she needs to make sure all her dishes are on target, since sometimes the judges have not been a huge fan of her food. Overall though, I think she has what it takes to win this competition. I’m looking forward to see what happens! Your Questions About Fedex

Daniel asks…

does Fedex deliver to Cuba?

I have a package for a friend
who is staying at a Hotel in Cuba, he needs it ASAP
can I send it via Fedex? (in other words does Fedex deliver to Cuba?)
thanks

Michelle answers:

FEDEX Does not deliver to Cuba, nor UPS , only DHL and certain things, you can not send all kinds of stuf and is very very expensive , just for 2 lb of fotos and letters it cost me 42.00 ( and tha was with a special rate since I used my company’s account)
The reason is that FEdex is an american based company and there are no commercial relations between the 2 countries ( US emabrgo) , and DHL is a German based company. And by the way do not count on speed the fastest way that the package arrived was a week.

Betty asks…

Fedex ? probelms ! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr?

Okay so I ordered something online last week Thursday at papayas. they said they shipped it on friday and estimated delivery was today Thursday 14th

Jul 14, 2011 8:03 AMAt U.S. Postal Service facilityGOODYEAR, AZArrived at local Post Office – Allow one to two additional days for delivery

Jul 14, 2011 8:19 AMDeparted FedEx locationFEDEX SMARTPOST PHOENIX, AZ

I just dont get how it would take an extra 1 or two days to get here ! when i live about 3 miles from that plaace
gets me mad ! why does it take a whole week ?

Michelle answers:

It was shipped via FedEx SmartPost.
This is a system where FedEx delivers the package to your local post office distribution center.
They do not bring it to your house, like with normal FedEx

So FedEx dropped it off at the distribution center this morning. Now it’s treated like normal US mail. The post office will most likely deliver it with your regular mail tomorrow. However, sometimes there is a backlog of mail (usually at Christmas) so it might actually take 2 days to get out of the post offce.

Shippers save money by using SmartPost. It get to your area safely by normal FedEx. But you don’t have to pay the FedEx man to come to your house. But instead the normal mailperson brings it who is already coming to your house.

George asks…

Does FedEx ship to businesses first?

Is it true that FedEX ships to businesses first then to residents?

Michelle answers:

Are we talking about FedEx the express side of the business, or FedEx Ground, the parcel side of the business, like UPS? If Express then you should get your package by the delivery time the shipper paid for (Early Morning, Business Morning, Business Day, etc.).

If you’re talking FedEx Ground (also know as FedEx Green), pretty much they do. Same with UPS.
FedEx and UPS usually will deliver to businesses first, then residences, then on their way back to the terminal they’ll stop by the businesses again for the pickups.

Most businesses start their day at 8 AM, leave at 5. Business need their shipments early so they can keep work flowing and get orders out. Then as orders are taken and processed throughout the day, they are ready to be shipped. So FedEx and UPS stop by the businesses that have shipments ready towards the end of the day, to collect them all at once. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Most residences however don’t have anyone home during the day, most are out to work or school. So it makes sense to deliver those packages when the people are home.

I’m speaking in general. FedEx and UPS splits up their territories into many area, each covered by it’s own truck, or more than one truck. If a particular territory is made up mostly of residences, then those would see their packages delivered much earlier than an area with a lot of businesses.

If you want your package first thing in the morning, but don’t want to pay the very high price for that, ask the shipper to ship the package “will call” to the FedEx or UPS office. That means they will hold the package at terminal when it gets there, and you pick it up, usually by 9 AM local time.

Lizzie asks…

Does fedex deliver Mondays?

I been told that they don’t deliver Mondays.
The tracking order says its on fedex vehicle for delivery.
Btw I live in Chicago if that help

Michelle answers:

FedEx ground delivers mon – fri.
FedEx Home Delivery delivers tue – sat.
FedEx Express delivers mon – sat.
