The FAFSA is usually all you will need (except as you noted for scholarships and private loans). Guaranteed student loans will need more paperwork later, but your financial aid office should notify you, or you can check with them. Based on the FAFSA results, your school determines what sources of money are available to you. This includes the Pell Grant, any state grants, any in-house grants from your college, work-study, and student loans. Some schools will also use it to determine eligibility for some scholarships as well. Check for details with your financial aid office.

Submitting your fafsa is just the first step in a long process. You are a long way from getting any money. It can take up to 8 weeks or more if you don’t turn in other things the school may ask for…. But….

First, to answer your main question, usually excess funds from financial aid are not given out until a few weeks AFTER the semester starts. Sometimes they aren’t issued at all (if your school is very expensive, for example and you don’t get enough aid to cover everything). Sometimes the money is issued much later in the semester.. In the case where someone submitted their fafsa late. Like today, for a semester that had already started.

Your schools on your fafsa will get your FAFSA information electronically. Then they will start a fin aid file on you. Most likely they will need extra documents from you. Until you get your file complete, they will not issue you an “Award Letter”. This Award Letter details all the different kinds of aid you are being offered and the amounts. Award letters are just now being sent out for those who are going to start school in the fall of 09 for those who submitted their fafsa’s in Feb… So your school may not be ready to send them out yet. Some school send out award letters via email… Some snail mail… And others will direct you to a location on their website and have you log in to view and accept your loans and grants.

This is where he signs. “Signing” is not a correction to be made.

FedEx wont care what’s in the package as long as it is not anything illegal, and sex toys aren’t illegal.
You’ll only have to sign for it if the sender sends it “signature required”. (most don’t)

Depends upon who the shipper is. If it’s Apple then yes a signature is required for all packages. Now it depends upon which type of signature. If it’s an indirect signature then you can go to the Apple website (did you order it from here?) and print out a release you can sign and leave for Fedex. If it’s a direct signature then someone has to be home to sign for it, the only option is to have it held at a Fedex facility, either the station or a Fedex Office/Kinkos. If the package is from any other shipper then it’s entirely up to them whether a signature is required.

I suggest you just do it via Regular Mail (much cheaper), I don’t think it will be lost as long as it is Registered Mail (make sure it is a Registered Mail, chose the Priority Mail).

This is a fairly recent innovation (dating back about 3 months or so). It is a partnership agreement between Yahoo! YA users get to see this form of advertising for Facebook, while Facebook users get to see their friends’ YA stream on their Facebook page.

You have to have legitimate proof; if they did that again on those accounts, then you would have a case, but if nothing has happened on those accounts, Facebook is honestly not going to care. You shouldn’t worry about it. Just block them and if they keep doing inappropriate stuff, then you can report them again, but without them doing it again, you don’t have a case. You can’t get people banned for no reason, and Facebook is honestly not going to care enough to investigate.

Ironically, the answer comes courtesy of a dedicated Facebook group no less. The “How to permanently delete your facebook account” group, created by Magnus Wallin, lays our three steps to Facebook removal:

1. Delete everything that is related to your profile. That includes, but is not limited to: pictures, friends, messages, wall-posts, mini-feeds, news-feeds, posted items, interests, groups, applications, gifts….etc etc etc… Get the picture? EVERYTHING!

2. Contact the Facebook staff and request a permanent deletion of your account and that all information about you is fully erased. Of course, remember to tell them your user name.

Even if Firefox is set as your default browser, if you open your Hotmail e-mails through Windows Live Messenger it always opens it with Internet Explorer.

The only reason I can think for this is that Microsoft are being anal about it and are trying to get people to use Internet Explorer so they embedded it into the code in WLM!

No one can tell you exactly when you will get it unless they live where you live and got it on the same day. Just track your order when they send you an email or I think you can also do it from your account online if you made one. I ordered something on friday or saturday and I got it on wednesday or tuesday, I can’t remember. Just track it, it’s faster and easier than coming here. It tells you where it comes from (L.A), where it is, it’ll probably go to Oakland next, then it comes to you. I live close to san francisco so it shouldn’t be too different. It will probably be processed or something like that on monday (I don’t think they do it on weekends because it isn’t a business day).

You should have received you Student Aid Report (SAR) by now… Especially if you did the application online. If you haven’t, you should contact FAFSA… They might have you redo it if you don’t have your PIN.

You won’t get any of the money until on/after the first day of the term you start. The money you receive will be minus the tuition and/or books.

Yes, you can list up to 10 schools on your fafsa. You do not have to have applied to those schools before you do this.

THe fafsa is an application for different types of financial aid. Some of them have to be paid back… (loans) some of them have to be earned by working (work study) and some of them do not have to be paid back (grants).

Only your school will be able to tell you which kind and how much of these forms of fin aid you qualify for. If you are only eligible for loans, then YES you will have to pay back everything you get.

The money from FAFSA goes to the school that you are attending. After they take out your tuition and fees the school will refund any excess to you. Have you informed FAFSA of where you will be going to school?

You live with your mom. So you would use your mom’s and your stepfathers income on your fafsa. You can and should not use your dads income. The instructions are very clear. You must use the “Set” of parents you live with.
