Your Questions About Food Network

Lizzie asks…

What’s going on at the Food Network?

Seems like lately all they have shown on the Food Network are gimicky shows like “Unwrapped” and all the shows with “Guy”, their contest winner who is just downright annoying.

And now news that Emeril Live has been cancelled? Mario Batali leaves Food Network and Iron Chef America?

What on earth is going on at the Food Network? Bring back the actual cooking instead of the stupid competition shows. I know that making gum paste flowers is truly a complicated art form, but I’d rather see something else.

Michelle answers:

I agree. I think it has a lot to do with the competition the cable networks feel with the popularity of reality television.

The History Channel has also lowered it’s standards and airs end of the world documentaries and specials about monsters. Give me a break!
I hear you! Give us what we want! Food Network should have cooking shows, not food battles!

Richard asks…

is Food Network going to be cut from Time Warner?

Fox and others were to be cut as of 12/31/09 but now Fox is on for now, but what about Food Network?

Michelle answers:

Time-Warner and Fox came to an agreement. My Food network is in my refrigerator and pantry.

Steven asks…

should iron chef stop creating new iron chefs and food network stars?

i mean no one even cares about the new iron chefs once they become iron chef. and the food network stars the only successful one is GUY. everyone else no one cares/ watches/ dont know what happened.

Michelle answers:

No having some new Iron Chefs ok an it’s up the producers of the Iron Chef America and Food Network Stars if they want to add new chefs on their programs.

Donald asks…

How did you feel when you heard Jag lied on his application on Food Network Star?

Jag on the food network star dropped out because he had lied on his application about serving the war… If I remember correctly the Food Network knew about it before he backed out, so wouldn’t Food Network be equally responsible for allowing him to be on the show in the first place???

Michelle answers:

I was so very disappointed because he was my choice as the winner. I thought his type of food was very different and interesting. I really felt let down. I was not aware that the Food Network knew about this prior to the competition , but if they did , then they ought to screen contestants properly and avoid this in future.
