Your Questions About Food Network

Susan asks…

What are the worst cakes that have ever been done on Food Network Challenge?

Recently I watched the episode when Kerry Vincent was the mystery client and one of the chefs (Stevie?, I think that’s her name) made an extremely nasty looking cake. She was one of the worst cake artists I’ve ever seen on this show. Her kitchen was a mess, her cake was disgusting, she put strawberries on top for the height, and she puts flammable liquid on it and sets it on fire! So, that made me wonder if there was anymore cake artists like that on Food Network Challenge.

Michelle answers:

That was actually the cake that I was going to use as an example. Her idea was just plain stupid and I agree with Kerry in the fact that the cake was all about Stevie. Every time I think about the cake, I laugh because she honestly thought it was wonderful.

John asks…

Food Network Food Detectives – I missed the ending to the show (How did it turn out)?

On the Food NetworkFood Detectives Identical twins were tested to see if drinking a lot of water improves the appearance of skin. I got a telephone call and missed the outcome. Did water help the appearance?

Michelle answers:

Yes it did work. The twin who drank the water had a glowing, healthy look and the other twin’s skin was sallow and pale looking. I love Food Detectives!

Michelle answers:

Donald asks…

how much help do food network chefs receive?

In the time that viewers can’t see, how much help do food network chefs receive? For example, before the show and during the commercial breaks.

Michelle answers:

I agree with Gene and Dave, but Paula Dean is an overweight finger licking grandma, not a chef, and to speed things up in the time allotted they need the food to be pre-prepped, look at the credits on any show and see the food stylists, kitchen assistants, sous chefs etc, they receive the recipe and then ge the product ready, some that do simple dishes like Martin Yan and others, simplify things to a few ingredients to be prepared, plus like with Iron Chef America, it is staged and they compact it into an hour program.
