Your Questions About Firefox

How do I stop the firefox text cursor from jumping around?

So I’m typing out a forum post on say newgrounds and all of a sudden the text cursor (the flashing vertical line) all of a sudden jumps up 3 lines without me telling it to. I think it’s only in firefox but I’m not sure. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

Michelle answers:

I am a very good user of fire fox but I have never come across the But II would advise that you uninstall and re install to see if this persist as it might be an installation error.

How come Firefox is blocked from downloading in Vista?

I and technicians cannot get Mozilla Firefox to load into my Inspiron 518 with Vista Deluxe Home Edition. I have over 500 Gb and 4 Gb of memories; and it gets a message that Microsoft will not allow the installation. Help!! Wghat can be done? Is there a Firefox tech out there with a Fix for Vista ?

Michelle answers:

I have a mac and don’t have this problem but my mother bought a new PC with vista and had the same problem as you. I too couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t let me download firefox. I had to go to cnet’s download.com and find an alternative link. That worked. Hope this helps you. Here is a link if you need it http://www.download.com/mozilla-firefox/?tag=mncol

How to I install old Firefox version, when it always updates automatically to new?

I want to use an older version of Firefox because I don’t like 4.0. I have the verson I want, but when I install it, it will always automatically update to 4.0. How can I just download the older version without it updating?

Thank you.

Michelle answers:

There are two ways of doing this:

First one is to uninstall your firefox 4 and reinstall firefox 3/3.6 whichever version you prefer and disable the Automatic Software Update.

1. Click “Tools”, selecting “Options”.

2. When the “Options” dialog box appears, click “Advanced”.

3. Click the “Update” tab.

4. Underneath “Automatically check for updates to”, uncheck “Firefox”, “Installed Extensions and Themes”, and/or “Search Engines”, as desired.

5. Click “OK” to close the dialog box.’

Second option:
Download a portable firefox app. I am including a link to Firefox ver. 3.6
