Lisa asks…

Why do women think their sexual pasts are comparable to those of men?

This is a text book “apples vs. oranges comparison”

There are very often far greater risks for women to engage in sex, be it physical (pregnancy, higher chance of STD’s), emotional (tend toward placing more value on it) or social (bad reputation vs. men who are thought more highly of, often by women)

Also, it is much more of an “accomplishment” for a man to get casual sex from a woman than vice versa based on womens natural sexual advantages.

Lastly it’s universally understood that men tend to be more interested in “spreading their seed” while women are more given “to nest”. So these women are generally going against biology while men are going with it.

There are other examples of how this is different, although these are more than sufficent. Still, how can anyone, especially women, honestly believe comparing sexual pasts between men and women is the same thing? It would be like comparing bench press strength or some such……
Grappler – that is poor math skills right there buddy…..
You Can’t Handle – please explain…I don’t understand what you are saying.
Professor – basically you just admited that you are letting some sort of personal bias against me, blind you to the logical points i have made? Since you don’t agree with me on an opinion, you can’t accept facts? That’s quite sad for you….also arrogant to think your opinion is somehow superior to mine. Considering I have been raped, one could argue MY perspective on the subject is more informed….
Arlo – many women have died giving birth…I have never known of a man who died from it.
Professor – I noticed your addition – please point out where in anyway I suggested women had no right with regard to who they sleep with? THAT my dear is a textbook logical fallacy on your part
Helena – your arguement was simply point by point not accepting facts. There are more STD’s that women are more prone to contract than men. This is fact. Also, perhaps you did not understand what I meant when I used quotes around the word accomplishment. I don’t you could seriously say it’s anywhere near as easy for average men to get sex as it is average women. If you truly believe that, I would suggest you get out of the house a little more and into the real world. Also, just totatlly dismissing thousands of years of biological history is incredibly silly on your part, and really hurts your case further.
Helena – your argument started terrible and went downhill from there….by the way this is NOT a circular argument:

“its harder for men to get sex because many women choose to abstain so that’s an accomplishment”. That is like saying the offense is tring to score a goal and the defense is trying to stop them. if they score it IS an accomplishment, you silly goose!

Why would any man want a woman that has been promiscuous and slept around?

Chris asks…

Can some one please help with my question…..last one didn’t get listed?

Hi ladies!

how is everyone feeling?….I am 31 weeks now and am awaiting a scan tomorrow (tuesday) to check out all of the happenings. I have antenatal appt thursday to book my c section based on the finding of the scan.
my boy seems healthy and hopefully the placenta has moved up and away from my previous c section scars!..i have had some bleeding over the last week so im a bit stressed about it!

so my question is…
Is anyone waiting to find out when your c section is to be done? and are you having any problems with bleeding at all?…also if you are/were what was/is the outcome?

FYI..My c sections have been done for medical reasons and if i were able to decide for my self i WOULD most definitely be having a natural birth!..lol

Any info in regards to any thing i have said today would be lovely…Thanks Ladies & good luck with the pregnancy and TTC.

Michelle answers:

Hi! I can’t answer your question, because I’m not pregnant, but I have 3 kids, and the first two were both c-sections. Yay for VBA2C’s!! LOL

I never had any bleeding problems, mine were done for breech, and then a repeat. But, I just wanted to wish you good luck. Bummer that you don’t get to go the natural route, it’s amazing!

Susan asks…

Breech baby and a C Section?

I am 36 weeks and 1 day. The baby is frank breech. I read in one of the baby books that I have that the chances of the baby moving now is low to none. The doctor said that if she does not flip by week 38 or 39 they will schedule a C Section. Right now with the baby the way she is I can barely to anything. It hurts to breathe and its a constant pain where her head is sticking out. Do you think if I ask at my next appt, I will be 27 weeks, if they can just go ahead and schedule one if she is still breech they will do one? It is my first pregnancy and wanter a natural delivery but I can not go through this pain much longer.

Michelle answers:

Well, 38 weeks is considered term. It is best to try to hang in there until then. My son was born at 36 weeks via c section due to preeclampsia and unsuccessful induction. The risks then were underdeveloped lungs and sucking reflex not developed properly. His lungs were ok but the sucking reflex was an issue with breastfeeding. Just hang in there! Also, my c section was very easy to recover from. I was sore but getting around quite well within a couple of days.
