Carol asks…
what are natural causes for irregular menstruals?
my last period was May the 3rd or 5th, i took a pregnancy test about two days ago and it was a clear negative. but i havent gotten my period and its june 11th, im paranoid and not sure if im pregnant. should i wait to see if i get my period or is there a different type of pregnancy test that i can buy that can detect early pregnancy?
Michelle answers:
Some people just are not regular. I never was. Doctors can help this with medications though. Stress can cause this too. Fear of being pregnant can cause you to be late which makes you even more scared you may be pregnant. If you are not pregnant and continue to be late go see your doctor. As far as tests, my doctor told me that Fact Plus was the best one. Good luck.

I think I might be pregnant… I will take a pregnancy test in another week?

No.. not dark yellow !!! Just a normal color… but cloudy ….. as though there is discharge in my urine flow.
Michelle answers:
All kinds of weird things happen when you’re pregnant. Get a test done, they are very accurate these days even at an early stage. The sooner you start seeing a doc, the better. You also want to rule out any urinary infections.

Sharon asks…
Did you test positive for Group B Strep in pregnancy?
I found out I tested positive for it and the doctor said that means I’ll have to be hooked up to an IV with penicillin for 4 hours during labor, I really want to have a natural birth and a lot of what I plan on doing to handle the pain would be for me to be very mobile. Can I still walk around, even maybe get into the tub while hooked up? And am I hooked up as soon as I get to the hospital?
Michelle answers:
Yes, you should get the intravenous antibiotics as soon as possible after labour starts/waters break but no, you don’t have to be hooked up for 4 hours. They give the antibiotics through a drip (which takes about 30 minutes) or slow injection (about 5 minutes). The antibiotics are topped up every 4 hours and in between the 4 hourly doses, the cannula in your hand/arm can be plugged and the drip detached, so you can walk around if you want to.
There’s no reason why you shouldn’t get into the tub – the cannula should be kept dry but that’s not too difficult to manage!
Let us known how you get on!

Helen asks…
I skipped my period and have been getting negative pregnancy tests. However, it seems I am gaining weight in?
my stomach area. Today it even felt a little hard around my belly button. The weird thing is I do Natural family planning and I did not ovulate last month but my temperatures are low (they should be high if pregnant). Anyone know what the heck this means? Just gaining weight and stressed or prego?
Michelle answers:
Sometimes women shouldn’t trust at home pregnancy test because they could be inaccurate, so I would go to a doctor and they will give you the answers you need and they will be accurate. Gaining weight is a sign of pregnancy, do you have cravings? If so you might be pregnant.
