Helen asks…
What’s your opinion….?
on Clomid purchased online? Has anyone tried this and did it work for you. I have tried so many natural remedies and been on Femera before. My specialist told me there was nothing else she could do and I woulkd never get PG. I want to try this but wanted some opinions. I have PCOS and a history of fibroids (removed and never came back) and mild endometriosis. My regular GYNO said Clomid would be the nex step after the Femara but then I jumped the gun and went to a specialist and he is no longer in my coverage. Please only serious answers; and no “go to the Dr”; this was what he wanted to do next but she only wanted to go straight to IVF; which we CANNOT afford.
Michelle answers:
I am surprised you did not start clomid first. I was on it with my first two pregnancies. Usually you take it for 3 months and go off for three months. Clomid on-line should be the same as from the pharmacy. The first problem here is a Dr. Told you that you would never get PG, I hope you do not believe that.
I know you said you have tried natural remedies, but for how long? A friend of mine that has PCOS has been trying for 8 years and 3 IVFs latter and no kiddies. She just started taking MACA and has had her first natural cycle. She decided to take a break from all the chemicals and is doing much better. Some suggestions are: foot zones, acupuncture, hypnosis (http://www.biotherapy-clinic.com/custom_cd.html) Another friend of mine just conceived twins using a hypno. Cd from him. Dealing with fertility is a emotional roller coaster, but when we figure out our bodies and what it is lacking pregnancy happens…
Best Wishes

Charles asks…
IUI is this finally the answer we’ve been looking for?
Well before you say that you don’t know let me clear up what I’m asking. I’m looking for POSITIVE answers because I’m at my wicks end. I’m really fed up seeing friend after friend get pregnant (I have 18 friends who are either pregnant or had a baby within the last 6 months) and I get negative test after negative test. I get so depressed even thinking about taking a test now. I’m 25 and he’s 27.
Today I just had my second clomid check and my husband did a semen analysis and no baby. He has problems with the semen that can get a woman pregnant (apparently there are more than one types of semen mixed in there) but overall his count is normal.
Because of this the fertility dr suggested we try IUI along with Femara. I already have the Femara prescription so…. step one is done.
But all of this fertility stuff is SO depressing because I have honestly tried EVERYTHING (except IUI and IVF or adoption).
So far I’ve tried switching my diet (with the help of Cooking to Concieve), taking my prenatal vitamins regularly, Vitex, Clomid, a ClearBlueEasy Ovulation predictor kit (which was $200!), doing day 3 and 23 tests at the drs to make sure I’m ovulating (which both proved I was) then we have sex every other day from days 10-20 (and everyday around ovulation), a Fertility test (from First Response- which came back positive). I got my husband some vitamins too, I got a laptop cooler for his laptop, I also advised his to stop putting his phone in his pocket. We’ve even tried prayer and I got this book called (Super Natural Childbirth) Well, you get the point. I mean we’ve been trying for about 14-15 months now and I just cant seem to get pregnant.
This month we are going to take a break so that I wont loose my mind. I’m excited about the break from peeing on things and checking mucus and whatever. I’m really just tired. My friend told me she was pregnant the other day and I burst into tears! Not that I wasn’t happy for her but just so unhappy with the way things have been going for me. I mean, she JUST told me LAST MONTH that she wanted a baby- her and her husband just got married 2 months ago- and now POOF she’s pregnant! So no, I’m not hating on her I just wish that things wouldn’t be so difficult for me and my husband!
So, I need to know some stories of IUI and whether or not it actually worked for people. How many times did it take?
Please no negative responses. I’ve already gotten enough bad news. 🙁
Michelle answers:
I wanted to say that I know how you feel. I knew 32 people that were pregnant at the same point in time, and now they have all just had their babies. It is really hard to see everyone else having babies when you know you have been trying longer, have been married longer, or are more ready for one yourself.
If you really want a baby, IUI could work for you as it is the next step. After searching through bunches of sites, it costs about 500 dollars on average per time, and it raises your chances on an average from 10 to 20 percent, and up to 25 since you have both follicles. They say that after trying 3 times and not getting pregnant, the next step is to move onto IVF.
You can have a baby if you keep trying, it just may take a while longer still. Try and remain positive and remember that no matter how long you wait, your perfect baby is waiting for you and when you get pregnant it will be at the perfect time. You should feel lucky that you and your husband are really prepared for a baby and really know you want one because it will make the experience better.

My mother had one tube blocked but the dye pushed the tube open which they didn’t realize because they scheduled her for surgery which was canceled because she found out she was pregnant shortly after.

Mary asks…
Pregnancy & endometriosis, any advise?
We have been trying to conceive for 6yrs, I was diagnosed in 2008 with endometriosis, I had surgery to have it removed, I know it never goes, the Gyne said to start straight away and we did. It’s now over two years later we still have not conceived, I use ovulation tests every month and am doing all the right things I’ve been told by my GP & Gyne. I am getting very frustrated now as I’m 38 and would love to have a baby before I turn 40.
I’m due back to my Gyne in two weeks to see if we can do anything else, IVF is to expensive so that’s out. Have any of you ladies conceived and gave endometriosis? I had a baby when I was very young, perfect precinct no complications and natural labour no compilations. (this was 19yrs ago)
Thank you Dr Doyle for that link but we have been using Ovulation test, I’ve been charting my cycle to ensure we are getting my ovulation date correct, any more advise would be appreciated. I suffer from period pains all of the time and intercourse is painful, bowel movement are painfulI ,think the endometriosis may be back!! What do you think?
