Your Questions About Oldest Age For Natural Pregnancy

Helen asks…

I am 60 days late for my period ER doctor says i am not pregnant. Could he be wrong?

I am going to give a quick rundown because I have no
Idea on what to do. I have NORMAL clockwork cycles
everysince the age of 18 my cycles have been a
constant 30-32 days…Today I am at cycle day 60 and
still have not had a period.
Last period: December 28th …but then I unusually
started spotting at cycle day 9 and it lasted for 30
days. There was no cramping at all with this bleeding
but since it was going on I got frustrated. so I went to
the ER on January9th. They found a “small cyst” so
they say on my right ovary. Then sent me home
because they said it would go away on its own. So
from January 9th – February 8th I was spotting off
and on, especially after sex. Never needed a pad, just a
pantyliner.
I still did not have a period since December 28th. On
February 11, I purchased and started using 100%
natural progesterone cream because I read
somewhere that It could help with abnormal
bleeding, and I dont know if it helped but the bleeding
has stopped since February 10th. Even through sex I
am no longer bleeding. But the wierd thing is that I
never had any cramping or complications during the
“cyst” I so called had.
Well now today is february 25th and still no period! I
discontinued the cream yesterday February 24th.
because on the directions it stated that menstruating
women should only use the cream for 14 days
straight. I dont know where I am in my cycle, but
when I went to the Emergency room on 2/20 to see
what is going on with me, they just insisted to do a
urine and blood pregnancy test and both came out
negative. I had also been doing pregnancy tests at
home a week prior and they were all negative. My
body is acting extremely wierd right now and I am
hoping that its the baby that Ive always wanted. I am
25years old with no kids and Ive been in a
relationship/and now engaged for 7years, and never
got pregnant before in my life. I also have had some
test done last year (hormones, HSG) and everything
came back normal.

Michelle answers:

I was over 60 days late for my period once. I had never been late before and was freaking out. I went through tons of pregnancy tests that all said negative. I made myself think I had pregnancy symptoms. I finally called the doctor and made an appointment and I started my period the next day. Most likely you’re not pregnant. Just relax and try to stop thinking about it. Stress can and will delay your period.

Lisa asks…

If you wanted to get pregnant with twins?

A question I answered yesterday got me thinking. i am 21 years old at the mo, and i have two tots, 12 months apart. i have always planned to have two more kids close in age when i am in my thirties. i would really love to be able to have twins, as i think in a lot of ways it would be easier as they would be at the same stage developmentally. i know that there is a higher risk during the pregnancy, but i have always been very healthy, and had very good pregnancies. what i want to know is is there someone way you can greatly increase your chances of concieving twins? would a doctor prescribe fertility drugs for this reason, or is this seen as abusing the the system? what about natural ways? thanks for all who answer, feel free to leave your opinions on this (just dont be too mean!).

Michelle answers:

You cannot plan it. Fertility promoting injections are associated with multiplets but you might even end up with 7. That is how the quintuplets were born.

Ken asks…

When is a good time to consider conceiving..?

I am 23 years old this year in November and will have been married 3 years in December. We are a USAF family, so right now we have a guaranteed income.

I would like to know, when is a good time to try to have a child..? I keep having dreams of taking every home pregnancy test known to man and them coming out positive, I keep wanting to have a child, I keep thinking about it, etc, etc.

For one thing, I am on Birth Control Pills, and I am NOT pregnant at all, even though I DO take a test every now and again just to make sure I am not, as has been suggested to me.

My husband has said to me, if I had a child unexpectedly, he would just go with it and it would be fine, so that means if I did, he would be fine with it. He has also told me that when I want to, that we could, and that it was up to me. But then there is another issue at hand here.

I also want to know how do I know I am READY to have a baby..?

Most everyone also keeps telling me to wait, wait, wait. I fully understand the reason(s) why, to make sure we get out everything we want to do first, because if we have a child, we would not be able to, say, go to random concerts like we have done before.

I have my names picked out and have for about a year or so and would also like opinions of current mothers or expecting mothers.

Isabella Caitlin/Kaitlin for a girl.

Zachery Taylor for a boy.

Is my age now a good time to have a child and how will I know if my husband and I am ready..? I USED to be afraid of giving birth, of the pain, but I figure, it can’t be too much worse than my monthly cramps, as I get them horribly, and I am a natural lightweight at 93 or so pounds at 5’1″, so I know the pain medications they will give me will take effect quickly, and I have heard most of time from other women chatting, that you only feel a little bit of pressure instead of severe pain.

Lastly, I am on medication for severe depression and anxiety and I am wondering if I would need to ask a doctor about going off of it in order to have a child, and if it would have an effect on the pregnancy, or if it didn’t matter being that I kind of HAVE to be on them and have to taken them every day. I also wanted to know if anyone thinks it would be dangerous for me to go off of the medication, I am on Citalopram, also known as Celexa, being that I have to take it everyday.

Thank you very much in advance for your answers and opinions. I highly appreciate it.

Oh one thing I forgot to mention. I may or may not have a nerve issue or a messed up disk in my lower back, being that if I do too much physical labor, or sit for far to long ( I am speaking of like 8-12 hours almost non-stop), I feel pain in my hips and my legs will sometimes go out from under me, or I just can’t walk. If I don’t go overboard on housework, I am fine.

We were planning on setting up an appointment to find out what the issue is with that.

Michelle answers:

I guess you never really know when you were ready.. I just found out today from an ER Dr. & Thought that if I ever got pregnant i could handle the news (I cried a lot) and i am also on meds for anxiety and im not sure if they will take me off or not.. But if you think you are ready and you have the means.. Then go for it.

Mary asks…

Unwed parents in VA (laws)?

My friend Tonya has a lawyer, I am just trying to find other resources before her appt.

The situation is this. Tonya met Brandon, they had a long distance relationship for a while, visiting with each other when possible. She got pregnant. He moved to the same Va town where she lives. They broke up during the pregnancy. After the baby was born- a little girl- he lived with in min. of her. When the baby was a few months old he got fired and proceeded to “go missing”. He then went to a mental rehab facility. When he got out he went nuts again. “ran away” to where he was from, stealing a vehicle from family and fleeing the state. He spend time in jail for this. During all of this Tonya let his parents see the baby, and kept comm. with them. When he was released to a halfway house she took the baby to see him. He moved back to his home town and that is where he has been for the last year. The baby is now 2. He is on the birth certificate but has never went to court to claim his rights, or pay child support. He does occasionally give Tonya money for the baby. He is now deciding that Tonya should let he and his mother take the baby 3 hrs away from her home, and siblings (from Tonyas deceased husband) for a week to his home. The mother also seems to think that she has custody rights to the baby. It is my understanding that in Va an unwed mother is the natural guardian. She is now afraid if she lets him take her anywhere he will try to take her away or file for emergency custody. She wants him to be able to see the baby and has taken her to see him and his family, let them come to where she lives any time they want to see her. Can someone that actually knows the laws about these things tell me what rights he has, and if she actually has to let him take the baby anywhere. She has an appt. in feb. with her lawyer, but he wants to come take the baby before then. Any advise or where to find it is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I posted this in “laws” earlier and they were so rude lol. Nobody wants to take the child from her father, they just want to protect the fact that he is a bit unstable and does not need to carry her 3 hrs away from everyone and everything she knows at the age of 2.

Michelle answers:

Look up Fathers Rights in VA online. You will get your answers there. Or get a free consultation from a family law lawyer. I know here in Cali if you are not married the Mother has custody of the child. There was no custody papers signed so he has no rights to take your child unless settled in court. Just look up unwed fathers rights In VA. And if he or his mother takes your child and runs thats kidnapping and is a serious crime. His child or not. He cant do that. Its a whole new ballgame for unwed couples with a child. Fathers rights are totally different than a married father who recently got divorced.
