Your Questions About Natural Remedies In Pregnancy

Daniel asks…

help please this is really painful!?

hi, i often suffer with very sore shoulders which spreads down my arm and to my wrist and hand affecting my grip, usually this lasts a day and then goes but when i am pregnant to gets worse and is alot more painful, i suffered from this when i was pregnant with my last baby and my GP said i should really be on anti-inflamatories as it was very inflamed and sore but i cant take them when pregnant so i would have to just not use the arm as much as possible and take paracetamol, it took nearly 2 weeks off work and not using the arm before it got better, this pain started again yesterday, the first time this pregnancy, it seems to be linked to getting cold or wet, anyway i went to the chemist who gave me co-codemol and i have been wearing a arm support and applying tiger balm which is a natural remedy made from veg extracts, the pain is a little better but it is still hurting, i have 2 other kids to look after so it is not always possible not to use my arm as i need to push the pram etc, i am going on holiday in 10 days and would really like the pain to have at least dulled before i go, is there anything you can advise that is safe to do/ take? im 20weeks pregnant, thanks.

Michelle answers:

Do you have arthritis in the neck and shoulders or a trapped nerve in the neck – what are they saying is causing the problem in the first place

In order for anyone to give advice, they/we would need to know the cause and that’s including your physician

If you aren’t getting satisfactory answers/solution to your problem I would get a second opinion

James asks…

how can i remove/fade scars from puppps?

I had puppps obviously during my pregnancy. I am going to be in a wedding and need to get rid of these scars on my arms and legs ASAP! HELP! I would rather use some kind of home remedy or something safe and natural because of my baby.

Michelle answers:

Just use anything with vitamin E, like vaseline, or cocoa butter etc. Use 1-3 times a day and they will fade in a few months 🙂

William asks…

I’m 2-4 weeks pregnant and having some digestion problems..?

This is my 1st pregnancy so please don’t be rude.
Sorry to be gross but I have been having diarrhea. I’m having more trouble keeping food in then down. It seems to look like baby poop some times. It doesn’t look like there is any water or have mucous in it. I barely make it to the toilet some times which is embarrassing. I’m lactose intolerant which doesn’t help. I have diarrhea even if I don’t have dairy products it happens once or twice after almost every meal, even in the morning before I eat any thing. At this point I would rather have my food be coming up or be constipated. I have been to the doctor but she thinks it might be caused by dairy products but I don’t think so.
Are there any natural or healthy remedies that can help firm me up a little?
Do you think prenatal vitamins will help with?
Once again sorry to be gross and thanks in advance.

Michelle answers:

Hey im sorry to hear you are going throught that. You need to eat more roughage. While most get constipated during pregnancy, the opposite is also possible – its your body reacting to the increased level of hormones in your system. Your body will react in its own way. Eat whole grain food, greens and things like that. You could also be eating something that your body has decided not to accept now that you are preggo…. I craved pickles at some point but when i’d eat them my tummy would be upset. You have to drink a lot of water to make up for all you’re loosing… I dont know if prenatals will help, it has different effects for differnt people but i was told that because of the iron in prenatals it is likely to cause constipation so it might help you… So you also want to try to eat more iron…. Hope you get better…

John asks…

I am looking for an herbal remedy to reverse tubal ligation.?

I had my tubes tied about 10 years ago. In the first three years I had two ectopic pregnancies resulting in miscarriages. My tubes were cut, burned and tied, but I am not sure what they used to tie them off or why eggs have made it to the lower fallopian tube. I also have problems with post tubal ligation syndrome. The real problem now is that I may be interested in having another child, but do not want to have surgery to reverse the procedure. I know there are ways that the body heals itself and I was wondering about natural methods to help it do just that.

Michelle answers:

There is something physically blocking your tubes, generally a clamp or a insert made of metal, that isn’t going to be helped by herbs.

Get your surgical notes and see what was done to block your tubes.
