Marijuana is more effective and less dangerous than other antinausea drugs for pregnancy they have also found?
It can slow the growth of cancer tumors, in the patients taking it for nausea. It has also been proven there are no ill effects from marijuana, it does not cause birth defects, or harm the fetus in any way. It is also not physically addicting. So how do we go about getting it re-classified as an herbal remedy, rather than equate it with dangerous drugs like crack and heroin? They have also proven it is not the Gateway drug, they claim it to be, it is simply the “forbidden fruit”, which makes it just as appealing as alcohol, which is also a “forbidden fruit.”
It is a natural plant that grows out of the earth, and has many medicinal properties that they are only just discovering.
I say is time to re-classify it, and make it legal, by making it an herbal remedy, for many ailments, such as intractible nausea during pregnancy, pain, nausea when recieving cancer treatments, etc…
What do you think? Serious answers only, I don’t need all the “Refer Madness” mentality, crap.
I can tell you from experience that it does not harm unborn babies in any wayl. I smoked it through 3 pregnancys and all of my kids are exceptionally intelligent, and are healthy, and have no birth defects what so ever. It has been studied and proven to have no adverse affects. Unfortunately the “Refer Madness” propaganda machine is still going strong.
Andrew: I have to disagree based on my last edit, and I also smoked ciggs, through all 3 pregnancy‘s. Kids all were large healthy alert babies at birth. And each child got bigger, the last one weighed 10 lbs, and was 24 in long. I kinda blew that theory out of the water already.
To Goonhilda: You have fallen victim to the propaganda machine. I know many many mothers who smoked it while pregnant, and guess what? None of them have had any problems such as you describe. And all of their kids are very intelligent as well. I think you need to do a little more research on the subject. The link you used had no resources. It is merely someone’s very biased opinion.
To Rose: I have common sense, because I would prefer to use a natural substance to aleviate nausea, than a pharmecutical any day, and I don’t believe the smoke does cross the placenta and damages the baby’s lungs. It just does not make any sense. Also at the time I was pregnant, the true, dangers of ciggarette smoking were still being debated. I believe there is more to the low birthweight baby, than just smoking. You have to look at the bigger picture. ie: stress, nutrition, sleep, caffeine consumption, fear of gaining too much weight, genetics, etc…That is what common sense is!! I think, I research, I use logic and reason, and I question everything.

To Jill: I am far from niave on this subject. I have been studying it for a long time. It has been used for nausea in pregnancy by Midwives for thousands of years before “Americanized Medicine” became the practice.

But anyways.
YES I feel marijuana should be reclassified as an “herbal supplement” just like St Johns Wort, Red Raspberry leaf, black & blue cohosh, etc etc. All of these are “safe” when used properly, and like any “pharmaceutical” have the potential to be dangerous if used incorrectly or if over-used.
Too many folks have indeed fallen prey to the reefer madness mentality… But only proper education of the use of these herbs will make people realise that this silly modern-day Prohibition is a scam to make money off of a natural substance & the people who use it. But no one wants to bother educating themselves, especially not when someone else “more informed” is happy to do that thinking for them and say “NO that’s bad, here take this pill instead.”
As for its use during pregnancy. I found small doses to be incredibly theraputic for 2 pregnancies thus far. One resulted in a full-term birth of a perfectly healthy baby boy (7 lbs 15 oz, 19 inches so low birthweight my a$$), the other is yet a work in progress. And NO I am not at all concerned that there is any inherent “danger” to this use of marijuana for morning sickness.
I am however, terrified to put any pharmaceutical concoctions in my body and my baby’s body. These things have only been around for a few decades at best, and they are still “working out the glitches” so to speak. Personally I don’t want to be the guinea pig, the one they go “whoops!! RECALL!!” on… AFTER the damage has been done and my baby nearly died or whatever, like Goon.. Mentioned.
Seems perfectly reasonable to appropriately use an herb that grows from the earth, and has been safely used for Centuries (not decades) for morning sickness, nausea, headaches, pain in general, etc etc.
I don’t trust pharmacy.
I do trust nature.
Obviously alot of people have things a little differently than I do, but I feel with better self-education people’s mentality might possibly just maybe *shift*…

I feel like I’m being a big baby, please help?
I am 7 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my 3rd child. With the other pregnancies I had morning noon and night sickness until exactly 3 months. It was tolerable and managed with hard candies, frequent meals, and the occasional dramamine.
I have been sick since before I missed my period with this pregnancy. Morning, noon, night, waking me up in the middle of the night. All day every day. I’ve not had more then a 2 hour relieve from the nausea. I tried natural remedies first. Then things like Benadryl and Dramamine. No relief. Now, I’m taking Zofran around the clock and it’s not touching it. I’ve never actually thrown up, I wish I could throw up and be done with it. I literally can’t function during the day because every little movement makes me sick. I try to stick it out, but it’s really hard to do with 2 little ones to care for during the day. After I take the medication, the nausea is reduced by 25%. I can still do very little for a large part of the day. At some point I will get a bit of relief and will have to rush to get things done before another wave of nausea hits me again.
I spent the afternoon on the couch and when my husband got home all I could do was cry. He took the kids outside for about 1/2 an hour and I was able to eat a small snack and rest on the couch. I’m feeling better…but know it won’t last.
I don’t understand why I am so sick this time around. What could be the cause? What is the treatment? I can’t spend the next 6 weeks like this…..

It does seem like I’m getting less “babying” with each baby! 🙂 I’ve not heard of that, I’ll check into it. I bought the sea bands the other days, but no luck.

When do you have an ultrasound? I have a feeling you might be having twins! My cousin had 2 pregnancies where she had some morning sickness but it was bearable. Then they tried for one more, and this pregnancy from the start was horrible! She had to force herself out of bed, since she had 2 daughters to look after, but the moment her husband got home she would have to go back to bed and would cry because she felt so bad. At 10 weeks her doctor sent her for an ultrasound just to make sure that everything was okay since she was always so sick and turns out it was twins!
It could be twins or your hormone levels are really high for some reason causing the illness.

Needing Herbal remedies!?
Anyone have any suggestions of herbal remedies for the Tea drinker? I love the herbal teas and I also take the pill form.
So anyone have any thing for the light headed feeling and the nausea? I am losing weight still during this pregnancy due to health. I don’t think i could carry full term with being around 200pds. Mind you , I am on my 5th, so there is no options on that subject of losing it while pregnant.
Also any filling foods that are natural without fillers or preservatives? Any ideas or facts are welcomed thanks!
