Mary asks…
Need name of natural parenting/mothering book.?
I seen a book online somewhere that is on natural parenting. It was written by a person that went and studied the parenting rituals of tribal countries. Places where technology hasn’t taken over the birthing and parenting skills. I think it talks about co-sleeping, breastfeeding, baby wearing and “natural” things like that. If anyone has any clue on any books like that I would really appreciate it. I am newly pregnant and want to do a more natural approach to pregnancy and parenting.
Michelle answers:
Iit sounds a lot like the Dr. Sears Baby book. I think it is called the Dr. Sears Baby Book: Everything you need to know from birth to age two. I really enjoyed this book. It covers everything you mentioned. Great great book. Congrats! And Good luck with everything!
Also don’t let people give you a hard tme about your parenting practices since some people have a weird eye at co-sleeping and lots of breastfeeding and stuff.

Jenny asks…
Has anyone read the book ” Taking Charge of your Fertility” by Toni Weschler?
I was just curious if anyone has used this book for a natural method of birth control, gender selection or to get pregnancy? If yes has it worked?
I would like to use it for natural birth control after I give birth.
Michelle answers:
Yes, yes, yes!!!! And I still reference it! I read it at the urging of my ob/gyn after my first apt. With her (I switched docs after not getting pregnant for two years and no answers) and she had a feeling I wasn’t ovulating. Sure enough after two months of taking my temp I could tell I wasn’t ovulating. After being given lowest dose of clomid to stimulate my ovaries, I could tell when I ovulated and when I was most fertile. The second month I got pregnant and now have a beautiful 4 year old girl. I have sucessfully used the same method to get pregnant twice more, unfortunately both ended in miscarriage. So its proven to work to try and concieve. Haven’t used it as a means for natural child birth though so wouldn’t know as far as that but seems logical given it worked for the opposite. Good luck and happy reading!!
Donna asks…
Is this natural in pregnancy?
I’m 9w2d pregnant, and my date for my midwife appt is 27th November, and my 1st scan is booked for the 10th December. However, as these dates get nearer and nearer, I’m scared in case I either lose the baby, or that the scan won’t show anything. I’m only 18, but I’m just so anxious.
I know the chances of the scan not finding anything at around 12 weeks is unlikely, but I’m anxious. My mum’s told me not to worry, but I can’t help it.
Did any of you feel like this? And what can I do to stop myself feeling like this?
Michelle answers:
By the time you’re 12 weeks, you’ll be able to see something 🙂
My first scan was done internally (awkward), so the picture was better than if they did a regular ultrasound the first time. But still pretty little.
He was moving around EVERYwhere, and only about 2 inches long, so there was a lot of room.
I was scared about losing the baby, but as long as you stay healthy, you need to put that from your mind. It can happen to ANYone.
I’m only 19, and now I’m 34 weeks. It’s something every mother worries about, but the stress won’t help your baby, so think about all the good things you can do for him/her 🙂
And by the way, enjoy this time right now….haha. Once you’re towards the end, everything hurts, everything’s uncomfortable and you will be ANXIOUS out of your mind. There’s nothing to stop that though, it’s all part of the process 🙂
