William asks…
IE or Firefox?
Do you prefer Internet Explorer 6-7 or Firefox 2?
Michelle answers:
Firefox is much better at general surfing. Occasionally you will come across a web site that wont work, but you just switch back. Firefox is less susceptable to viruses and spyware. Another good solution is Opera. But Firefox is definitely best
Lisa asks…
how do i use firefox?
what is firefox and how do i use it?
Michelle answers:
Firefox is a web browser, like Internet Explorer, AOL, or Netscape. It is superior to all three of these options because it is high performance and extremely customizable. To start, go to getfirefox.com and download firefox. At first most use it like any other web browser, but eventually you will build up a library of add-ons and customizations to make your Firefox unique.
George asks…
whats better Firefox or Internet?
What do you like better Firefox Or Internet?
Michelle answers:
Firefox because it is safer, faster, and more customizable than internet explorer. Also with firefox you can have certain extensions that come in very handy. I believe firefox and internet are like facebook and myspace (firefox=facebook and internet=myspace) internet explorer used to be a power house until facebook came and got popular. Also, facebook brought up many good ideas and myspace tried to copy it (like with peoeples pictures)
hope this helps haha
Sandy asks…
Is firefox better than opera?
Is it better privacy with firefox? thanks
Michelle answers:
Firefox also has private browsing mode, and Opera probably does too.
I think they’re both equal in terms of privacy. I don’t use Opera but I’m sure it lets you change settings the way FF lets you change things in about:config. Disable dom.storage, disable sendReferer. In the privacy settings don’t allow 3rd party cookies.
Both are compatible with the Ghostery add-on which blocks tracking scripts and a list of bad cookies. Both are also compatible with Adblock Plus which, in addition to the regular ad-blocking subscription, has a subscription “EasyPrivacy”.
Firefox has an add-on “GoogleSharing” which anonymizes your google searches (via proxy) so Google doesn’t know what IP they’re coming from.
If you really want privacy use a VPN or Tor. And use an email account at riseup.net.
