Your Questions About Firefox

James asks…

How do I delete misspelled words that I accidentally added to the dictionary in FireFox?

I’ve got a version of FireFox that has built in spell check. I’ve accidentally hit the “add to dictionary” link instead of the correctly spelled word a couple of times now. How do I delete those words from the dictionary?

Michelle answers:

Quote from the lihehacker.com:
1. Open your application data folder. On XP or Vista, go to your Start menu and hit Run (or just press Windows-R) and paste in %APPDATA%MozillaFirefoxProfiles; on your Mac, navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles.
2. Find your profile folder, which by default should look something like xxxxxxxx.default.
3. Inside your profile folder, find the file called persdict.dat and open it up in your text editor of choice.
4 Now just find the misspelling, delete it, and you’re done.

If you are using Linux, the profile folder is located at ~/.mozilla/firefox

How Can I Get Rid of Adobe Flashplayer constantly Crashing on Firefox?

There are things that I can’t do on any other browser except firefox. Yesterday, flashplayer crashed. And from that time on, whenever I visit any page on firefox, it crashes again. So I basically can not play online games or watch videos (the videos I watch are ususally putlocker, and they need flashplayer of course) on firefox anymore. I tried resetting firefox and restarting it, but it didn’t work. Any clue about what to do? Thanks.
I have the latest update of Flash Player
I also tried clearing all my browsing history, and I have the latest firefox update.

Michelle answers:

Try to clean your browsing history by using a program like Ccleaner. Then update the firefox and flash player. I think then the problem will solve.

How do I close firefox to install plugins?

I just need to know how to close firefox in order to install plug-ins.

Michelle answers:

After the plugin is downloaded, in some cases, you just have to restart firefox to use that plugin. You will find the ‘Restart Firefox’ button in firefox plugin tab of addons window. Click on that or manually restart firefox.

If your firefox hangs, then press ctrl+alt+del. Find the process ‘firefox’ and select it and click on end process. Then restart firefox

How can I find the date and time of a Mozilla Firefox history item?

This is easy in Internet Explorer – Ctrl+H to bring up the history panel, then right click on the item and select “Properties”. Firefox obviously has time/date information since the history items can be ordered by date. But how can this information be accessed?

Michelle answers:

I am surprised its not the same as from what I understand firefox works in almost the identical way.
