Your Questions About Fedex

Lizzie asks…

FedEx not bothering to deliver packages do door and only leaves at apartment office?

I order alot of things online and UPS will always deliver them to my apartment door, FedEx on the other hand cant be bothered with this apparently and leaves EVERYTHING with the apartment office and not even a note on my door or attempt to check if im home thus I usually dont know I’ve gotten a package until well after I should have. I complained to both FedEx and apartment office, both blame the other.

Michelle answers:

That may be because of an agreement that Fedex has with your apt complex… Some gated communities stop delieveries at the front gate, to minimize the chances of strangers roaming around the complex..

No real way around it.

Sharon asks…

How do I track damaged pkg by FedEx see if it was returned to sender?

FedEx had a damaged pkg so did not deliver would like to know where it went because item was not debited to my account. I don’t know if I have the original tracking #. Should I contact FedEx to report this situation?

Michelle answers:

Shouldnt you have a tracking number on the package? Usually they will give you a number adn you can track it at the fedex website. Or at least thats what i think ups does. You should even call where you were recieving the package from. Make sure they got it.

William asks…

I am planning to use FedEx to mail my cat to a different state, is that safe?

I live in Hawaii, and I’m planning to mail my cat using FedEx to California. Is that safe? How long will I be able to receive my cat. Do I need a kennel?

Michelle answers:

I’m not going to judge.. Just going to give you the information (while on a tour in Memphis I did see Elephants being shipped.. However as this would answer another question I will just include the following)

Live Animals

FedEx does not accept live animal shipments as part of its regularly scheduled service. Live animals will be accepted when the shipment is coordinated and approved by the FedEx Live Animal Desk. Acceptable shipments include, but are not limited to, zoo animals (to and from zoo locations only) and horses (from gateway to gateway locations only). Household pets, such as domestic cats and dogs, and live fish are not accepted. For more information, contact the FedEx Live Animal Desk at 1.800.405.9052.

Maria asks…

Why do FedEx planes fly so low out of Newark Airport?

I have noticed this before. FedEx planes typically fly a lot lower than passenger airlines – why is this?

Michelle answers:

Fedex aircrafts are all considered as Freighters. Freighter aircrafts are usually very heavy in weight when they are fully loaded. Therefore they have a higher rotation speed of the runway which makes them rotate very late or almost at the end of the runway hence being very low for people who look around.
