Your Questions About Fox News

Helen asks…

Why did Fox News immediately start talking about Eric Holder after news broke that ObamaCare was upheld?

I switched to Fox News less than 5 minutes after ObamaCare and the individual mandate was ruled to be constitutional, and the anchors were talking about Eric Holder and the Republican witch hunt over him.

What happened? I thought this Supreme Court decision was supposed to be a big deal? Fox News had been hyping it up for the past few weeks. Then, they find out that ObamaCare was upheld, and the first thing they want to shift the subject to was Eric Holder?

Michelle answers:

Because they’re the propaganda arm of the Replublican party. Goebels would be proud.

Donald asks…

Why do Republicans think its okay to have Fox News, but blame the Liberal media for everything ?

Most of Conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves here in the states. Fox News is just like the rest of the tabloid garbage in this country.
If you want real news, try watching BBC, Al Jazeera, or CBN World News.
You might learn a thing or two. What do you think ?

Michelle answers:

Totally agree. Republicans are the biggest hypocrites ever.

Mark asks…

Does Fox news seem to be getting increasingly more nasty with Obama because he might win?

It seems like since Obama has a good chance of actually winning, FOX news is pulling out all the stops to bring him down. I mean Sean Hannity is getting even more angrier and reporting unsubstantiated lies. If that were possible.

Michelle answers:

Yes. They’re getting more scared, more desperate and more angry.

Charles asks…

How can I watch Fox News Channel 55 online safely?

I have disconnected my cable tv because I can get most shows online for free, but I do miss Fox news on cable. Is there a safe, free way to stream it online?

Michelle answers:

Try watching the BBC News on PBS for some balanced and well researched news?
Or watch it online through www.watchfoxnewsforfree.com

Would you give your login information for facebook/email to your significant other?

Hello Cyber World,

Simple question. Would you give your Facebook/Email login to your significant other? If yes explain why and if not explain why?

Michelle answers:

Depends what they want it for?

If they want it ‘out of the blue’, it means they think your cheating on them and they’re paranoid (unless you actually are)

Or they’re just curious to see what you write and maybe to see who messages you..

If you’ve been with them for years then i think it is okay, if you barely know them or you don’t trust them enough, of course i wouldn’t.

i would like to know how to actually hack someones login to facebook. please go into quite some detail im not a professional

Your Questions About Fox 23

David asks…

Which voters are more informed? Those who watch Fox News are those who don’t?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/23/fox-news-less-informed-new-study_n_1538914.html

Interesting study, but not surprising in my opinion.

Michelle answers:

The latter. Neocons don’t care. Most don’t do their own research just like being spoon fed by Hate News. I mean Faux News. “/

Mandy asks…

Is Fox “news” for dummies?

Another study has concluded that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers.

Researchers at Fairleigh Dickinson University updated a study they had conducted in late 2011. That study only sampled respondents from New Jersey, where the university is located. This time, the researchers conducted a nationwide poll.

Thanks to another question for source;
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/23/fox-news-less-informed-new-study_n_1538914.html

Let’s be fair and balanced, Fox “news” is really entertainment with the guise of being news reporting.
The phrase “For Dummies” comes from a line of marketing products that is intended for the easy public consumption of information. This is how I applied it to the question regarding Fox news.

The researchers from Fairleigh Dickinson University conducted the study, while Huffington Post online journal has reported on the results.

Michelle answers:

Faux news is as dumb as you can get, they spoon feed the republicans what they want to hear though so it gets a lot of ratings from the sheep.

Maria asks…

Who says FOX is the GOP propaganda organ?

http://electioncentral.tpmcafe.com/blog/electioncentral/2007/apr/23/national_gop_multimedia_web_page_is_fox_news_video_clips

If you start laughing uncontrollably, please sit or lie down.

Michelle answers:

Ah FOX…I call them the White house press release office.

Nuff said

George asks…

Instead of attacking FOX News directly, should Obama just give all the reporters demeaning nicknames?

I mean, that’s what Bush would have done, right?

“Ever notice how impatient Bush is at press conferences with questions, like, ‘What right do you have to ask me a question?’ … I would say he’s a bully. It’s classic bully syndrome. The nicknames, for instance, are bullying.”

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2008-09-23-oliver-stone-w_N.htm

Michelle answers:

It seems you don’t recall Bush defending the Dixie Chicks right to express themselves in this (then free) country even though they’d just made idiots out of themselves by thinking their pea-brained opinion of him mattered to people. Record sales proved them wrong, but none the less, Bush did not mount an attack, but instead stood up for their freedom of speech.

Additionally, after the shoe-thrower pitched his best shot, Laura Bush, instead of admonishing the action, stated that the level of freedom in that country has most definitely increased for this to have happened at all, so while it was not something that anyone would want specifically, it does speak volumes for the success our soldiers have had in bringing freedom to that part of the world.

Both treated it appropriately. Not like a petulant child(OBAMA), lining up favorites to shun that person at recess, but like a parent/authority figure (of which a GOOD president IS) when dealing with a misinformed and poorly behaved teen. They each recognized the person’s need for individual freedom of expression and realized that the fact the “teen” felt comfortable expressing themselves as such without fear of repercussions meant that their leadership as parents/authoritarians was a success. At that point, society, time and maturity would have to hone off all the rough edges.

Your Questions About Fedex

Mary asks…

How long would it take a FedEx truck to deliver something about 28.5 miles from its current location?

The truck has left the FedEx facility in North Billerica, MA and I live in Revere, MA. Roughly 28.5 miles and the drive is usually 39 minutes by car. How long would it take the FedEx truck to get here with all those other delivery stops?
The truck left the facility at 6:44 this morning btw.

Michelle answers:

Normally, they do the businesses first, and do not even start on the homes until after 10:30, sometimes not until after 3. However, on Saturday, most businesses are closed.

Well, it’s already noon in MA, and I don’t think they work past 7 p.m., except at Christmas time, so and they need 40 minutes to get back to the FedEx facility after they deliver to you, so they have to deliver within the next 6 hours or so. Probably.

The distance is not really the issue. The truck may only need 39 minutes to get to Revere, but once it gets there, it may take all day to deliver to all the houses there, so it could be late when it gets to you.

Laura asks…

Whats the difference between FedEx and the Post office?

I want to send a package but whats the difference between FedEx and Post office?

Michelle answers:

FedEx is generally a private company while the Post Office is run by the government.

Betty asks…

How much does a UPSF or FedEx Freight Driver make in California?

UPS Freight, not UPS Ground and FedEx Freight starting pay. I ask because I want to move to California in the future.

Michelle answers:

Since nobody with direct experience has answered, let me ask this — have you looked on payscale.com and salary.com? They are big compensation databases, adjusted for location. Good luck!

Joseph asks…

How to scan a FedEx tracking number to Excel?

Greetings All

My question is how to scan a FedEx tracking to an Excel cell.

We are trying to scan the FedEx tracking number but the number that appears in the cell is not the number scanned. Usually it ends with 13 0s on the end.

Ideally I would like to scan the tracking number and have the tracking number appear without the remaining characters. Not sure of a equation to create in Excel to do this.

Michelle answers:

You need to “format” the cell you wish to input the tracking number to. It should be formatted for “text” input and not a number. I suspect it is now set to “number” and that is why you are getting the error you do. A “text” formatted cell will accept any combination of digits, characters, symbols and even spaces, whereas a “numerical” formatted cell will only accept digits.

Your Questions About Firefox

James asks…

What is the best firefox to download I will appreciate it if somebody would give me a good answer.?

I would like to know which is the best firefox to download and which is fast. I have Internet Evplorer but it sometimes is kinda slow I will be thankfully if somebody would give me a very good answer.

Michelle answers:

There is only one firefox for windows. Just download it and there you go.

Betty asks…

How do I view deleted firefox history? System restore did not work for me?

I want to view deleted history from firefox, system restore did not work for me, is there any way I can do this without having to download any software to my computer?

Michelle answers:

Very cursorily

Donald asks…

How do I make Firefox my default internet page?

I have internet explorer and firefox and I usually work with firefox but when I open my messages with msn (hotmail) they automatically open with internet explorer. So basically, how do I get msn to open my inbox usinf firefox and not ie?

Michelle answers:

Unfortunately, if you’re opening hotmail from within Windows Live Messenger (or MSN Messenger), making Firefox your default browser will not solve this. Messenger does not respect Windows default browser settings, and is “hard coded” to use IE.

Here is one possible solution, although it seems fairly complicated:

http://www.live2k.net/news-835/Open_Hotmail_with_Firefox_from_Windows_Live_Messenger

Carol asks…

What’s the difference between Internet Explorer and FireFox? Why do people say I should switch to FireFox?

Every time I call for tech support they tell me I should switch to FireFox! Even when it has nothing to do with the internet. What are the differences, I want specifics, not vague answers like: It’s better or safer.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7817 Laptop.

Michelle answers:

Fire fox has better add-ons/plug-ins (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/), more customizable, less robust (smaller program – runs cleaner and quicker to install), and is less susceptible to spyware and viruses for starters. More malicious code is written for IE.

A couple of personal examples:

I was doing a online image map and could only do about individual coordinates before I would get a stacking error. I used fire fox and never had a problem.

I loaded an add-on that allows you to record youtube vids and mp3’s right in the browser. IE does not have this (that I know of – tech changes so quickly). Fire fox has a lot of little fun attributes like this.

I appreciate how Fire Fox lists your bookmarks in the url bar as you are typing into it. IE does it also, but it doesn’t display as much info as you are typing.

The people at Mozilla (Fire Fox) seem to respond to issues quicker than those at IE. When you do updates any problems are take care of.

I could keep going on with a list of things that are better than IE but I’m tired of typing. The type of laptop that you own doesn’t really make a difference.

Oh and It’s better and safer. 🙂

Your Questions About Food Network

Jenny asks…

Cooking channels other than the food network?

I have comcast, and was wondering if there are any channels besides the food network that actually cook food. The food network now is becoming more like a regular tv show. I want to actually learn how to cook food and not watch competitions actually teach you new recipes.

Michelle answers:

There are a few cooking options in the “on Demand” section.

There aren’t any other channels that are dedicated to food/cooking. But like others said PBS has some, and there are all kinds of other shows that also have cooking blurbs such as the news and that sort of stuff.

Nancy asks…

Does anyone have any close connections with Food Network?

I am under 15 years of age and would be ecstatic if I could be on Food Network. I would like tp have my own show. Please please try to help me.I have already emailed them so please do not suggest that.

Michelle answers:

First of all try working in the food business and see if you like it, secondly having a tv show would be twice as stressful. Lastly no one on Y.A is going to know someone on food network, and if they did, they wouldn’t tell some random 15 year old with no experience. Sorry to be harsh but its true.

Mandy asks…

Which Food Network stars film their shows in their own kitchens?

Some of their kitchens look so huge, I can’t imagine that they are in the celebrity’s house. Especially some of the newer stars. For example, Aarti and Melissa both won The Next Food Network Star. Their shows are filmed in kitchens that seem too big for their background stories on the show. Does anyone know which kitchens are legit and which are staged?

Michelle answers:

It is known that Paula Deen tapes her show in her Savannah, GA home and that Pat and Gina Neely tape in their actual Tennesee home…Aarti Sequiera and Melissa D’Arabian tape their shows at Food Network’s studio in Brooklyn, as do Guy Fieri (the studio-bound Guy’s Big Bite), Rachael Ray (30 Minute Meals), Tyler Florence, Claire Robinson, Alex Guarachelli (sp), Anne Burrell and the much-despised [by Anthony Bourdain followers and food critics] Sandra Lee.

GIada De Laurentiis actually rents out a house in the Los Angeles area for six months and compensates the owner by putting the family up in a rental property during the six months needed to film her show. Alton Brown tapes Good Eats on location all around the Atlanta, GA area where he lives.

George asks…

favorite food network cook and why?

who is your favorite food network chef and why?

Michelle answers:

Emeril…..he is so funny:)

Libs just talking crap on here, they know just as well as we know FOX is a legit news operation .

And frankly they cant defend Obama on this

David asks…

Who are the most consistently misinformed media viewers? … Fox viewers, consistently, every poll.?

stewart seems to be wrong on this

June 2010 Media Consumption Survey. For 2010, respondents were asked four questions — which party controlled the House of Representatives, what post was held by Eric Holder, which company was run by Steve Jobs and which country has an active volcano that had recently disrupted international air travel. This time, Pew didn’t specifically use a “high knowledge” measurement but rather broke down responses by how many were answered correctly by each media outlet’s followers.

Once again, Fox News as a whole ranked fairly low among regularly used media outlets — 20 percent answered all four correctly and 18 percent answered three correctly. Still, those numbers beat the national average of 14 percent and 20 percent, respectively. (The best-scoring outlet, the Wall Street Journal, posted scores of 51 percent and 23 percent, respectively.)

Fox actually scored better than its two direct cable-news rivals — MSNBC, which is a liberal counterpoint to Fox, and CNN, which is considered more middle-of-the-road. Also scoring lower than Fox were local television news, the evening network news shows and the network morning shows.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/jun/20/jon-stewart/jon-stewart-says-those-who-watch-fox-news-are-most/
this site has several links that would take hours to read

Michelle answers:

Why are we continuing to talk about this idiot? He‘s not funny and he’s a liar. His schtick of vilifying traditional Americans is so 10 years ago. He obviously doesn’t posses the talent to reinvent his schtick, and it is amazing the man remains relevant.

Sandra asks…

What do you think of other networks refusing to allow the White House to exclude Fox News?? pay czar interview?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/23/white-houses-fox-news-boy_n_331437.html

The White House attempted to block Fox News from a round of interviews with “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg Thursday, but the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks included in the White House pool refused to interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included.

Fox News says that the White House “failed in its attempt to manipulate other news networks into isolating and excluding Fox News.”

The attempt to shut Fox News out was the latest move in the administration’s ongoing battle against the cable news channel, which several senior administration officials have claimed is not a legitimate news organization.

The decision by the network bureau chiefs to stand with Fox News is one of the first instances of the mainstream media defending Fox News against the White House’s claims.

“I’m really cheered by the other members saying “No, if Fox can’t be part of it, we won’t be part of it,'” Baltimore Sun TV critic (and regular Fox News detractor) David Zurawik said Thursday.

Michelle answers:

I think it was a lot of professionals thinking, “we could be next”.

Mary asks…

Fox News Watchers, How can you fall into lies?

People whom watch Fox News are far more likely to be given false information:

A study by the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA),[42] in the Winter 03-04 issue of Political Science Quarterly, reported that viewers of Fox News, the Fox Broadcasting Company, and local Fox affiliates were more likely than viewers of other news networks to hold three misperceptions:[43]

67% of Fox viewers believed that the “U.S. has found clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with the al Qaeda terrorist organization” (Compared with 56% for CBS, 49% for NBC, 48% for CNN, 45% for ABC, 16% for NPR/PBS).

The belief that “The U.S. has found Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq” was held by 33% of Fox viewers and only 23% of CBS viewers, 19% for ABC, 20% for NBC, 20% for CNN and 11% for NPR/PBS

35% of Fox viewers believed that “the majority of people [in the world] favor the U.S. having gone to war” with Iraq. (Compared with 28% for CBS, 27% for ABC, 24% for CNN, 20% for NBC, 5% for NPR/PBS)

_________________________

Fox news also has the most commentary of any news organisation. Why do you watch a News organisation whom has an agenda of lies?

Why don’t you just watch News organisations like PBS who give you the TRUE facts. Instead of watching a news organisation with the highest level of bias, one-sided commentary of any Network?

Its LIES. LIES. LIES. LIES. LIES. LIES. LIES. LIESSSSSSS

Michelle answers:

The lies can easily be traced back to let wing extremists!!!

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members…

It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well, effects American security.

This is a very difficult vote, this is probably the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. Any vote that might lead to war should be hard, but I cast it with conviction.”
